Haha! I’m gonna try mest best man. My dad got married yesterday so I’ve been in NY since Thursday and sill be here until Wed… I’ll only have about 2-3 days after that to get back on track
I think they’re still working things out because I don’t get any either and I cant change my signature or quote. Hopefully they get it together
Dek, I borrowed a friends hauppage pvr 2 for a few days and found a recorded match between you and ViperGoomba in my battle log, so I saved it to hard disc and will post it in the video compilation thread. It’s appropriate to mention in the frustration thread because of round 2…you’ll see what I mean lol.
Haha, ok I’ll check it out right now.
3 guys joining my room and picking Gouken after I beat their mains with him to show me how top tier he is… I fucking hate mirror matches but Gouken vs Gouken is up there in my top 2 with Honda vs Honda. The frustrating bit comes when I actually lose after a few games and they gloat on how easy Gouken is to play.

that is the biggest bulls#$t because if you make a mistake in this match up or a bad read, you eat a 40 to 50 bar damage!!! i want to see them on daily basis with the old man
<p>Master Gouken is not an easy character to pick up and play. You will find it difficult, at times, to get to grasp with him. Remember, experience counts for something.</p><p>One time I made a Viper player rage quit. He/she was good. Once I got them in the corner… I wasn’t going to let them escape so easily. Of course, Viper has mediocre wake up (especially with no EX bars) which is why the player went for a super jump and I caught them with a HP Skadouken and followed up for some serious damage. He/she rage quite before I could finish the round.</p><p>That’s the good thing about Gouken. It takes time to master him, but once you nail him down, he is one tough cookie. Above all, enjoy playing the game. Being competitive and bitter will only lead to frustration.</p><p>“That was an enjoyable battle.” - Master Gouken.</p><p>(Rises along with Master Gouken and walks off)…</p>
I am cheesed that I kept inputting QCF before HP when punishing a whiffed DP. So many times I kept doing a fireball when I meant to do cl.hp xx EX palm, but even then I don’t get EX even though I have the meter. I was so tense my execution went to shit. Didn’t do any combos, no FADC combo I practiced earlier, fuck!<br>
I’M CHEESED AGAIN! I got my ass tore up and back today… then again, the guy I played makes a lot of random calls… and almost always guess right. That alone put me into a state of fearfulness and I ended up turtling the whole time since I couldn’t find an opening and if I felt I did I’d get stuffed and frame trapped. <br><br>I did land a few knockdowns but I still couldn’t get in because my block string and mix up never stopped the guy from interfering with a jab > combo. <br><br>Also, shoutouts for me not anti-airing anyone. again. I need to figure out some kind of string of frame traps or whatever to set up counter hits by baiting out crouch techs.<br>

What match up was it?<br>
I was playing against 2 friends, one of which randoms me out with his offense. He used Cody for the most part, then used Ken and Ryu. The other dude used Evil Ryu.<br><br>I’ll see if I got time to record the matches today after class.<br>
Ok, looking forward to analysing them.
I already posted it here: forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/comment/8019473/#Comment_8019473
I look forward to reading up your input.
You made a catalogue of errors.
-
Your opponent was too good for you. Only fight players who are on YOUR LEVEL or just SLIGHTLY ABOVE.
-
No bread and butter combos. You never landed anything of significance.
-
Incorrect safe jumps. Your safe jumps were done too late and, hence, of no use.
-
No zoning. Master Gouken is a zoning character, and yet you failed to utilise his greatest strength.
-
You’re too easy to read. As good as you may think you are, you’re too easy to read. I was watching your fight, whilst drinking coffee, and I could predict your following moves.
-
No parry. Master Gouken has a 1 frame parry. USE IT!
-
Shin Shoryuken. Ultra 1 is best for those starting out/progressing with Master Gouken. High damage AND easy to land (off a back throw). You can also land it after focus countering/crumbling your opponent.
There are other things I could mention, but I’ll let you mull it over. If you have anything to say, about what I’ve said, feel free to tell me.
Here’s Kyo Anton’s fight with a top ranked Zangief player. Shin Shoryuken saved him. --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPGD6F_V19I
Here, Viper demonstrates the usefulness of Master Gouken’s parry. That 3rd round is just sublime! —> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwYCQdHJFhI
“Is that all you have?.. trust you instincts.” - Master Gouken
(Rises along with Master Gouken and walks off).

My only excuse is that he is a friend and that there are little to no players online when I play.No bread and butter combos. You never landed anything of significance.
cl. mp, cr hp xx palm?Incorrect safe jumps. Your safe jumps were done too late and, hence, of no use.
Yeah I haven’t worked out the timing on demon flips yet. Still trying. No zoning. Master Gouken is a zoning character, and yet you failed to utilise his greatest strength.
I was scared since it felt like he could jump my fireballs since I telegraph it too easily. I’m still trying to mix that up so it’s less predictable. No parry. Master Gouken has a 1 frame parry. USE IT!
You’re absolutely right. I did start using it in later matches, but I’m currently slow to reacting and I keep forgetting. It’s like I’m mentally out of shape. hahaShin Shoryuken. I don’t want to use U1 if it means I’ll be switching to U2 down the road. I like the stun U2 provides. I know U1 is easy, and I’ve made use of DP ultras of other characters in the past, but that was when I got accustomed to fighting a specific individual. There are other things I could mention, but I’ll let you mull it over. If you have anything to say, about what I’ve said, feel free to tell me.
For the most part, my biggest fail is that I become too scared to do things as soon as someone lands one right guess at a reversal. One jump in shuts down my fireballs, one wrong guess stops me from using parry. I’ll work on changing that. Thanks for your input. Even though it’s nothing particularly new to me, I feel more secure if someone can tell me what my problems are.
Gouken = poor defensively, awesome offensively.

Friend or no friend, you mustn’t be in the company of those greater than you. It is too great a challenge. Fight and beat those on the same level. You will draw more self-esteem and satisfaction.
-
You only landed one brb combo. You missed plenty of opportunities to land it on other occasions. Try nailing down its execution.
-
Most popular way is to get an untechable knockdown and then dash forward and do a demon flip.
-
There are ways to play mind games with your opponent. Standing MP comes out exactly like Gouken’s fireball and can be used to draw your opponent into jumping!!!
-
The parry brings back the glory days of SF 3rd Strike. Play that game to hone your parry skills.
-
Ultra 1 is a much more simple ultra to use. Also, it works well for Gouken’s toughest matchups; Seth, Akuma, Fei Long, C. Viper, Balrog, and Adon!
For example; one time, I was fighting an Adon player (2500pp, 7200bp) he went for the EX Jaguar Tooth… as soon as I saw the bright colour streak… Gouken: “Got you! Shin Shoryuken!” K.O.
Use baiting tactics. Show plenty of movement, don’t stand around. Show me any more matches you have.
I’ve been playing like shit all weekend, but this about made me throw my controller at the screen.
You kara kongo’d…canceled hp kongo into ex kongo and E.Ryu somehow avoided the hit due to the delay. Stop slapping buttons…( I do it too and it’s really obnoxious)
I know why it happened but doesn’t mean it’s garbage. Stop plinking because your move won’t come our right. Bull. That’s like ken Kara throwing standing right next to you and whiffing.
