Yeah I’ve only tried on Gen as of right now. So much going on in my life that I haven’t played much this week and kinda sucks since I’m trying to enter a tournament tonight. But I think it might be character specific some of goukens options. Wtf

Anyone know how it works with gouken and fireballs going through his denjin hadoken? I somehow managed to use it as a Ryu did an EX and his EX went right through my projectile and me as well but denjin finished him off

Denjin’s invicibility only exists if you release the buttons immediately (i.e. not charging at all), that means if Ryu’s EX fireball is coming right at you, and when it’s only 1 or 2 pixels away, you execute the denjin (without holding any charge) and the fireball will go through Gouken’s body totally. (Denjin has 1-16 f invicibility against projectiles) However, if you hold the charge and the EX fireball will get Gouken, the Denjin will NOT come out at all.

Yeah,

EX palm FADC (not worth the meter unless it will finish them off), EX Palm in the corner, after a Backthrow > EX Senku in the corner, and you can charge for a 5 hit after back throw (but it’s not worth imo since you may whiff)

On another note. Hakan has a strange ass hit box. You can lk GF dive kick and cross him up at point blank range, and the timing for palm > Denjin is very strict vs. those of the other cast. Has anyone else dabbled around training mode with him as a training dummy?

5 hit Denjin after EX Palm on most of the cast as well. Not that hard to time.

Yea, hakan is always my training dummy. When I’m training with gouken I switch with someone else. You can’t do most of his palm bnb combos. Unless you’re in the corner of course.

Denjin question: I have played some endless today with Guy, Rufus. Then in a game with Guy, he did his elbow drop on me (Gouken is waking up), then I did the Denjin with may be 0.5 second charged. The denjin hits him all, and he flies to the other corner BUT didn’t bounce the wall. I WONDER WHY?

Yes, these ARE links, as following the first fireball with cr.:mp: xx :qcb:+:hk: is 9 hits, 416 damage. I’ve also hit the Fierce link to a second fireball, and a few times, so I know I’m not just seeing things. Just seems the timing is strict as hell for this.

With dexterous hands, this could probably be followed with:
cr.:hp: xx :dp:+:2p: > :qcf:+:2p: > :qcf::qcf:+:3p: for a very impressive, if not very damaging Ultra.

They are one frame links, you just have to go to training mode and practice the timing.

not great news, maybe not even news but Counter hit st. mp links into cr.HP. pretty easily, no 1-frame link.

Been working in the lab with EX palm > dash > cr.HP > GF shenanigans. What I found:

LK version into sweep is pretty safe. You can’t be reversal’d out of it I’m pretty sure since most reversals don’t go that far horizontal, maybe Ken’s EX SRK. needs more testing and verification. Dive doesn’t land, grab doesn’t reach.

MK version you can do anything. Nothing is safe, can be reversal’d out of. Best option for grab since the distance is good for crouching opponents.

HK version dive is 50/50. Sometimes you can stuff AA, sometimes it trades. Trades aren’t really bad, but not the best thing. AA that goes really far forward (Ken EX SRK) seems to get stuffed fairly well. Grab is also possible, only recommended if you have conditioned your opponent to not throw out reversals. Sweep is unsafe entirely, but still possible.

Here’s a little corner combo you can do if you have no ex:

j.HP, c.HP, LP hado, c.LK, HK tatsu

Does 363 damage, 595 stun.

That reaches with no fadc?

it works in the corner, but I don’t know the wisdom in tatsu’ing in the corner.

You get 388 damage with standing HP. Good link to finish the match if you have no EX I suppose, since it’s not the best idea to tatsu in the corner.

I also just realized you can link sweep from fireball in the corner. Why haven’t I known this?

ya, and after sweep you can either do a safe flip kick or walk up and you can get about three fireballs worth of chip. One “fun” thing about flip kick into the corner is that on one side, you always cross up, and on the other you never do.
