But this is an awesome find, thanks a bunch. Mind you, I can’t get this consistently at all but it’s a fantastic addition after I’ve practiced it enough to get it down reliably.
i wish i had video camera. It didn’t feel like it was too hard. Timing felt like it was about the same as ex palm, dash tatsu. i was able to get it almost every time vs abel/sim.
Always do Standing HP xxx Ex Palm, Dash, HK Tatsu. It does around 400+ damage.
If you don’t have meter then you might want to do Standing HP xxx HP Palm or HK Tatsu.
after EX DP, my dash tatsu will sometimes only hit once – am i doing it too early or too late?
I thought that happens if the EX DP isn’t a close hit, since they move away further than normal.
aaaah maybe. seems likely – sometimes they seem to fall way farther and my dash doesn’t even get me close. guess i’ll have to pay more attention to how the EX DP hits
not a combo but I found a sakura-esque reset, 100% meter but it stuns Ryu (1020 stun total I believe) if you land it
s.hp, ex palm, FADC j.hk, dash under, s.hp, ex palm, hp palm.
if you don’t have meter, just a cross under s.hp xx hp palm gives you 910/1000 stun.
if you land a demon flip throw, cross up mk, (or a dive kick into) s.hp xx ex palm FADC j.hk, dash under s.hp, palm is a stun.
Do the j.hk later for a fake crossup, dunno how useful it can be but there it is. I thought it was nifty. If you start a round with full meter and EX demon flip, and they throw a fireball or something risky, you dive kick into this setup and if you catch them off guard it’s a stun, then you dash three times into level 3 FA into whatever and it’s like 90% damage and your round. Nasty. It’s not something to be abused but I thought it was cool.
you can also use j.lk to walk under or pretend to walk under, but less damage and stun
also, practically useless but hilarious against a defensive character or just as a random ass mix up, if you do a back throw, then instant air hk hurricane kick, you land just in time to catch them with a back throw again on wakeup. we should have a back throw shenanigans topic.
am I the only one that didn’t realize you can counter FADC ultra in the corner? tight timing but siiiick combo.
I don’t own a ps3 or xbox, so i can’t practice, i try things in Vs combats, when me and my friends play together. I’ve never picked Ryu in this game, because i was tired of him after so many games… but yesterday i did.
The point is that c.mk xx hadouken come out naturaly, it’s really easy to do… too easy, worked 100% of the time.
The next combat i picked again gouken, and c.mp xx lp hadouken DON’T come as easy, timming is harder.
I’m not saying that it don’t work, i’m saying that i’m still a bad player and i can’t combo it consistently… on gouken, but i can do easily with Ryu.
The same happens with s.Hp xx EX Shoryuken, really easy with Ryu, but i can’t EX demon flip, hk, s.hp xx Ex Shoryuken with gouken everytime…
I hate Ryu, Ken and Akuma, even more now.
From what I’m reading, in a corner if you land:
- EX palm, HP hadou, MP Hadou, s.HP
a HK Demon flip becomes a cross up right?
Does that mean we can essentially kill someone with one stock of meter and half a ultra bar? Especially since EX Palm into all that stuff essentially rebuilds a second bar of meter, and correct me if I’m wrong but that combo into demon flip kick, s.HP xx EX Palm, HP hadou, MP Hadou, Ultra shouldn’t stun, which means you’ve just got off a ~450 combo and a ~550 combo
It doesn’t actually combo. That might be your problem. It can also be dragon punched through as a blockstring.
How are you going to crossup, in the corner, and then do a corner combo… when you yourself are in the corner? But yeah you can demon flip kick with hk it at least seems like a crossup to me (in training mode right now)… I’m not sure how to tell though because the auto-block blocks it apparently the normal way, but that might just be auto-block being stupid.
thing with the s.HP reset xx HK demon flip is that after that combo, every time I do it, they are still in a corner, which is why i’m asking if it’s actually a cross up.
As a general rule, if you end up on the same side, it’s not a crossup. Hence the name crossup. If you’re gonna reset them in the corner I wouldn’t even demon flip, it leaves you pretty open. I wouldn’t even reset in the corner, actually, but that’s me.
OMFG, did i read wrong the “I present you with Gouken Footsies” thread??
c.MP, (On Block) LP Gohadoken… i though that it was a combo
Even SiYko say we can cancel c.mp into hadou… and even c.hp
I’m sorry for asking this, but i’m confused right now and i can’t find the answer in these posts…
What is the difference between “chain” and “combo”?
About the demonflip kick cancel tot FP, is this always possile? I noticed it doesnt workwith demonflip mk, and sometimes with lk or hk I noticed that Gief (and/or other characters) manage to get a punch in between the demonflip hit and the FP/HP
Is this me? Is my timing off?
^^^ I think it has to do with how deep you hit with the demon flip kick
Just in training, I found out that after EX Palm in corner, you have just enough time to land a HP hadouken, EX Hadouken, LP Hadouken c.HP reset. Somehow I don’t think there’s enough time to land the sweep though. Pretty nasty stun damage on that though.
He’s using it as a blockstring, that’s why he posted a different option for when c.MP hits (HK tatsu), because the tatsu will actually combo.
:wow: i didn’t know that.
Anyway, it’s too hard for me to know, on reaction, if the c.mp hits or is blocked… and if i know for sure i will hit i wont c.mp but do c.hp or s.hp into ex palm
seems i will do the c.mp lp gohadouken blockstring, and if someone shoryukens me in between, i will c.mp into counter.
It does not need to be on reaction, the tatsu after c.mp can be FADC.
Im not sure if this has been covered yet but…
After counter into the corner…you can FADC>Standing Fierce reset
Also Fierce>SRK(non ex),fadc ultra in corner…
