COUGH(BISON)COUGH!! Anyway when does the arcade Edition release in japan?
BTW great questions guys!!! dont even need to list question you guys listed most of them. Although I want to know one thing. How much less recovery does GF flip focus really have.
I’ve been playing as Gouken since Vanilla. There is a MASSIVE, massive difference between Demon Flip Parry recover back then and the way it is now in Super. In Vanilla it was almost close to instant recovery once you hit the ground. Maybe only 2-4 frames if that.
Compared to now, where even an opponent with a fast recovering crouch AA (i.e. Rog, Ryu) there’s a large chance you can be punished. It’s almost not good to use in those scenarios.
I haven’t played much of super but I know that even in vanilla people were begging for parry to be instant recovery if you actually parried something but to suffer a landing recovery so to speak if you didn’t actually parry anything (This way you were rewarded for a parry and punished for choosing wrong).
You have to have a recovery on “missed” parries though, otherwise it is free jump ins all day outside of armor break.
You mean like akumas palm? All I hope is for it to just be regular landing frames like the palm is, none of the delay nonsense please. I’m not asking for it to be like an empty jump, but itd be nice to parry a normal antiair and be able to punish it.
Sorry, Azuro is right. I was mistaking air parry with demon flip throw whiff. I forgot how similar they looked, it was a whiffed throw that had almost no recovery.
I guess that means this is going to be completely different then. I wonder how fast the recovery will be on the parry.
It doesn’t matter. Why you are trying to say still holds true. We’ll just have to substitute the new airy parry, for the situations that we used to use grab whiff.
I will be just one more trick in the bag. It’s tons of oki. you can do with this, From an offensive and defensive standpoint. If it is pretty similar to how Akuma can use the timing of his hammer-fist then it’s going be dangerous.
In preparation of A.E. Gouken, I actually started playing with Akuma more, b/c you are going to be able to operate Gouken in a new fashion. You can rush down with him now, but not like it’s going to be. Right now he’s fighting with 1 hand behind his back.
Yes. If I DF (I noticed everyone is using the abbreviation GF now, why? I’m sticking with DF/Demon flip) in anticipation of an antiair and I successfully parry an antiair, I should be able to punish when I land. I should have close to zero recovery to facilitate that punish. I took a risk, I guessed correctly, I should be rewarded. Even here I am still taking grey damage if successful.
In the above scenario, if I DF and parry and the opponent guesses that I will parry and does nothing, I should land and have a recovery to facilitate my opponent punishing me since he guessed correctly.
It’s all pretty simple, you can even think of it in such a way that if Gouken successfully parry’s, he comes out of his parry stance (knocks aside the attack) to land like an empty jump and if he does not successfully parry he has to land in his stance and come out of his stance on the ground (recovery).
Im going to make a thread and I’ll update the list as needed and give feedback on there. OP can just move the info from my thread into here so that we have a consolidated thread.
Well if it’s any consolation, the term isn’t(as far as I can tell, anyone with more knowledge feel free to correct) a reference to a demonic nature but to Hyakki Yakou (wiki it) and feels more like a reference to the many ways it can end.
Hmm pondering a flavourful translation(as 100 demons doesn’t have a cultural reference for us) Pandemonium Flip might be fun^^
