Gotham (Commissioner James Gordon Origins TV Series)

I found the season finale to be underwhelming. For the all the wacky, over the top campy shit that happened this season it went out in it a whisper. I’m glad that Strange survived. The guy should be dead being sandwiched between fire and ice blasts. Penguin’s and Butch’s reactions to Fish being alive is priceless. Jim is fucked up for dipping on the city knowing there are monster men roaming the streets and leaving it all to Bullock.

The problem I had this season was that they rushed past way too many angles. They set up a lot of great things but moved past them too quickly. As a result we the momentum was cut and the experience was very disorienting because it felt like a lot of info being dumped all at once.

In season 3 they have to slow down. Take a page from daredevil and shield and build a single overarching arch.

Yeh I was hoping Dr Freeze would play a bigger role but he got sidelined pretty quickly now Strange is gone too, we’re back to Mooney who was my least favourite crime boss to start with.

I think the problem with her is that she was overexposed in season 1. Had she been written off during the mid season break I don’t think she would have been that much of a issue. Hopefully in season 3 she is just a factor in the background but not the main attraction.

Season 3 also needs to put Jim back on track. He went off the rails so goddamn hard. He committed murder with the Penguin witnessing it, tried to cover up the murder, spend X amount of time in prison for a murder he wasn’t responsible for, goes vigilante to solve the Wayne murder and steals Bullock’s car to find his girlfriend when Gotham is gonna get ripped a new asshole thanks to Strange’s monster men.

The season was still great though.

Yeah exactly and I agree too overall a great season. I think Jim needs to play the straight man now and perhaps they can start letting Bruce be the one who fuels the drama and plot this time around. It wouldn’t make sense for jim to continuously get into so much trouble. The shift should be to Bruce or at least more balanced out this time around.

This show any good? I watched a couple of episodes form the first season and couldn’t get with it because I hated that they pretty much had Bullock playing the role of Flask.

I think it’s a good show. The first season is uneven when it comes to quality. It’s a police procedural with a large focus on Gotham’s mob and how corrupted the city is. Many of the plots wrap up too quickly or end up being forgotten. I believe that Fish Mooney and Barbara are the worst elements of season 1.

Season 2 is takes a massive turnaround in quality. Show stops being police procedural, it begins to focus on supervillains becoming the dominant force in the city, embraces the campiness of the source material and the main arc of the season has a tighter focus.

Yooo…time to catch up.

Why couldn’t he have been Ra’s on Arrow?

I do like that Ra’s casting.

That wouldn’t have saved all the other problems that season had

How has this season been? I’ve not been watching.

Ra’s only appeared in one episode and it was the most comic accurate portrayal of the character. I loved that the show went all in on Ra’s. Butch being Cyrus Gold was a pleasant surprise.

Well i need to watch this sucker finally.

Didn’t know that Oswald had feelings for Edward…I gotta catch up on the last season.

New trailer…

I hear it will likely air in midseason. In addition, the final season will focus on Bruce Wayne’s transformation into the caped crusader

Gotham has been my favorite of all the DC shows currently airing. It will be sad to see it go.

Jesus…I need to get caught up!!

I had dropped Gotham years ago due to just going completely against the grain of the “Batman lore” that I was used too.
