Seems like the rumor going around now is that Gootecks was high during his commentary shift at Final Round.
Judge for yourself. He immediately states that he’s tired from the flight and adjusting to a new timezone, but he’s also pretty all over the place in terms of commentary.
Regardless, I feel it was a little irresponsible of Gootecks to leave everyone hanging like that, considering he should have known how big of a thing this would be.
God… if thats the real reason he had to leave, I’m going to be incredibly pissed off.

Trying to monetise and professionalise a bunch of rowdy, youthful people in a scene won’t be easy. I don’t think there’s a rug big enough to sweep all that seedy, real life shit under, and I’m guessing those people don’t wanna be under any rugs in the first place, so there’s gonna be a split in the scene IMO.

Man if Gootecks was really fired from the show he created by Complexity because he was baked on a stream as inconsequential as 3rd Strike at Final Round… Don’t even know what to say. That’s fucked up.
If that really is the case, I feel like the other CC guys and the community in general should stand up for Gootecks. Like… boycott CC stuff or something. Just stonewall the shit out of Complexity.

With the intensity of those F-U’s I think some people should watch their backs turning up to FGC tournies. He always seemed like a nice fun guy but with his charisma and following a few words would be enough for a few broken legs. Respect for him to keep it in check.
