Good teams for Trish?

I was asking this on the Nova forums, but I figured I should try here as well, I want to to run Nova/Trish, so Id like to know what the best third/assists would be for that team. Was also thinking Id like to run Dormy, any way he could complete that team well?

Beam assist is best for a Nova/Trish team (so Doom, mags, iron man…) They both benefit from it (especially point nova).

Hmm, so no dice on the Dormammu, huh? Cant say Im surprised, I was labbing with him on the team and he seems somewhat redundant on the team offering little more than a great dhc and no useful assists to either Trish or Nova.
Back on Nova forums top suggestion was also for a horizontal assist, namely Tasky, but Iron Man could work well too, Magneto’s beam is actually too fast for Nova to make good use of it, and Im arleady using Doom in another team, so I think I will focus on one of the Tonys, thanks man.

Can I get your thoughts on a few teams?

Tried out Trish/Taskmaster/Nova tonight at a practice session with friends.

I’m starting to really like it. Hopefully I can find some lab time to see how far I can push it.

Does anyone have any opinions on a Trish/Ammy team that would involve Dante, Firebrand, or Jill? I know everyone is going to say Doom fits best there, and I’m sure he does, but I can’t stand playing Doom. I’m even considering Vergil but I’m not sure if he can really help Trish out as well as Dante could. I’m also a bit concerned about losing an OTG assist (dropping Viper) because of the combo damage loss.

I think Jill has the least synergy with Trish. MGS probably wont do much damage when you DHC into it and I don’t think she really likes any of Trish’s assists. I guess you could use Jill for her invincible cc and go to work with Coldstar every time she comes in. Dante is probably the best choice, lots of synergy there. I don’t know much about Firebrand but I really only see unblockable set-ups off of Round Harvest going for him on that team. Like Jill, he is very scary with Coldstar.

Trish/Vergil/Ammy works in that order. As for Dante, he either goes on point or second. (IMO best second in that team.) so something like Trish/Dante/Ammy. This used to be my team in Vanilla marvel and it was a really good team. Though it’s kinda “ok” now since Dante and ammy got some nerfs (DHC glitch, ammy no longer blocking during air dash, dante hitbox nerf/damage nerf, etc.). It’s still a overall solid team but just not as good. You get safe DHCs regardless of team order. Cold star helps both characters out but it scales combos hard and Dante already has to deal with mad scaling due to how things changed for him in Ultimate (plus the Hit stun deterioration.) Trish benefits from Jam session also as she gets more air control. Though it’s a little harder to confirm off it since the final hit pushes them back and into the air.

It can still work, just not as great as it was in Vanilla marvel.

I tried out Trish/Task/Ammy and it can definitely work. Trish sets up the unblockable setup for Task, Ammy with cold star locks them down for the setup, go from there. that’s about all I got though. I didn’t go much further than trying out unblockable setups as trying to pick up taskmaster’s combos. Task does get a small little combo off forward ground throw with Peekaboo assist or cold star assist. Not much but it does help build some meter.

I personally would use Task’s B assist over A just cause you get a little bit of air coverage with it and Trish could use any big of air cover to do her lame and camping.

As for Trish/Task/Dorm, I’d try Trish/Dorm/Task in that order honestly. I don’t like Dorm in the back too much because he can’t get started with spells as easily. He’s still good back there but not nearly as good with at least 1 assist. but I also believe that plays on the roll of how you plan to play Dorm. (rush or lame?)

What do you guys honk about a Trish/Chun-li/Deadpool team? Or Trish with some other lesser used characters?

Trish(LV)/Doom(HM)/Vergil(RS). This is my team and it’s filled with so much fun. Trish with missiles behind her is ridiculous. She can play keep away or rush down. You can lock your opponent down in the corner with missiles setting up some nasty high low mixups. Example: When they’re in the corner and missiles are coming down, you can do instant air L>dive kick>C.L(if it hits, continue combo of course) or instant air L>round trip>dive kick>fly+J.S(overhead) or Instant air L> ADD>c.L or ADF j.H(overhead)>Divekick<Just some examples, there’s a few more setups, you can also throw some traps in as well. Oh, she also has the Ricky Ortiz(Instant air L>X-Factor>Air S to continue the combo). And of course, missiles can be used as a combo extender.

Rapid slash lets her use round trip in combo(Ex:LMHS>J.M>Dive kick>QCB+L>j.MH(Call Vergil) H>QCF+L>QCB+H>S>J.S>J.S>TK Hopscotch> Super(You can call missiles and get another super since this combo builds 1 meter. Just Air QCF+L>Super or QCB super) RS also helps her keep away as it pushes the opponent back.

Strider, who I think is the bane of all Trish players, get’s stopped dead by missiles. And if you see someone calling him out recklessly and you have 2 bars, you can DHC into Sphere flame. Also, Trish can sometimes hit Strider out of Vajra by jumping back with Air.H or M. Takes a little practice doing that though.

Dorm is a problem for Trish, I’d recommend running Doom on point if you’re playing a Dorm player.

Other than those 2, I can’t think of any other character who annoys me with Trish. Maybe Zero, sometimes? Never fought against MorriDoom but I’m sure that poses a problem of course.

So for you Dante/Trish players, if you do a dante combo in the corner that ends in super, dhc into Round Harvest, I know you can hard tag Dante back in and teleport j.s, and pick up with volcano-beehive and super, but do you guys think there is anything else you can do?

You can do acid rain x2 into hard knockdown with dante. unfortunately, round harvest can be unpredictable in the direction that it goes so i don’t usually go for this one cause you can get randomly crossed up when going for the second acid rain. acid rain x 1 into knockdown of your choice is pretty consistent though which is the one I use in tournament.

Can I get the pros and cons of jam session for Trish ? Is it one of her better shells / assists ?

Its a a great lockdown assist and an ok keep away assist. I’m sure theres a way to convert something off of it if opponent is hit by it in the air.
There isn’t much downside to the shell because jam session is so good and both characters are very versatile.

the biggest con with jam session for Trish is converting a hit off it. It’s easier if it tags them on the ground but it’s harder to convert off it if you get them from the air.

Not impossible or anything. It’s just hard since it blows them back after the last hit.

I was playing Taskmaster/Trish and I l o v e the Peekaboo assist for Taskmaster.

I know someone runs Taskmaster/Trish/Frank but I really don’t enjoy really having frank as an anchor since it’s kind of a gamble. What would be a solid anchor to round out that duo (if it’s available?)

ammy, Doom come to mind that both Task and Trish greatly benefit from. Could probably throw in wesker for OTG benefits (and another way for round harvest unblockable.) but Wesker isn’t really the go to anchor in ultimate.

any beam assist benefits both Trish and Task. They both benefit off Doom (like everyone) regardless if it’s beam or missiles. Beam for ground control and a easy way in. Missiles for air control and combo extensions.

You could try Iron Man. You get pretty much the same benefits as a beam assist from him and you kinda have and OTG option (Smart bomb) and Repulsar blast is space control/anti morrigan tech that hasn’t been super explored at the moment.

I’m actually experimenting with Trish and Iron Man now. I’ve had a pocket Trish for a while with no team to put her on, but Trish/IM/Doom has been surprisingly fun and seems like it might be effective once I improve my Iron Man. Trish with a beam and missiles is pretty silly.

Anyone here know of any good mixups with zero and peekaboo. Zeros pressure on incoming characters is already stupid. It seems like peakaboo can add a new layer of dirt to the game.

I don’t “know” any but I’m sure something long the lines of this would work. (this is just theory crafting mind you)

If you placed the peekaboo assist a little in front of where the incoming character going to land you should be able to get a good mixup on non double jump characters. While the enemy is coming in they will run into the trap giving you the option making the mixup completely dependent on if you delay zero’s teleport. If you do delay the trap hits first, if you don’t then the trap hits second after you have already crossed up. The peekaboo assist also doesn’t put people in guard stun long either, so the lightning should properly cross up or combo if the trap hits.
