Good teams for Trish?

Trish can take someone to a corner in one clean combo no matter where she’s at on the screen though, especially if you have Wesker’s OTG assist to help with an extension.

The big thing is learning how to turn her air combo around if you’re facing out of the corner so you bring them back into it.

I do like the idea of using a Peekaboo trap to give them a reason to block low, and then punishing them for it. I bet on some characters you could do her instant air :l: and the process of them getting hit (expands their hitbox) would make the trap go off.

Right now I’m using Trish/Ammy/X and having trouble finding a good third (was using haggar/tron)

any suggestions??

and also is Trish/Ammy viable together? What are some good setups with them? or am I gimping myself for not using Wesker?

They work pretty well together.

[]Ammy’s Cold Star assist can hold someone in block stun while Trish sets up traps and throws a Round Trip.
[
]You can also use it to extend a combo by a bit, but it’s tricky. You have to hold them up for a moment while Cold Star gets going.
[]Okami Shuffle also connects easily after Max Voltage.
[
]Trish can easily DHC trick to Ammy, and it kills people dead.
Not having the OTG assist / quick low assist does hurt, though. The more I play Trish, the more I enjoy having an assist like Wesker, She-Hulk or X-23. All three of their assists can help her combo after an air-throw or extend her combos, and they all help her do Round Harvest unblockable setups.

One of the big benefits of the combo extension is being able to take someone all the way to the corner from anywhere so you can easily do a Round Harvest unblockable.

I’ve found that Trish is my best character and is capable of taking out entire teams on her own if I give her the right tools so she can kill characters off one hit from anywhere. From there, it’s just mitigating bad match-ups, avoiding execution heavy characters and having plans that deal with Phoenix.

The teams I play with her right now are
[]**Best friends with a twist - Trish/Wesker/Akuma. **Big benefit of this team is that it’s super effective and easy to execute. You honestly can’t fuck up Wesker combos, and Akuma is pretty easy to execute with too.
[
]**Team Jago Remixed - Trish/Dante/Wesker or Trish/Wesker/Dante. Good characters and great synergy. I just like this order more to get more out of Trish since Dante and Wesker are less assist reliant than she is. But Jago does a lot with Peekaboo assist using his Wesker/Dante/Trish order.
**
[]Team Effort - Trish/Viper/Dante. I think this is the strongest team I can come up with but I can’t execute with it.
[
]Team Style - Trish/X-23/Dante. When you’re on, this team is just mean. You can do Round Harvest unblockables, Dirt Nap setups, DHC tricks, etc. Just don’t get hit

Team RDK - Trish/Magneto/Wesker. This team is sick and I wish I was better with Magneto to play it well. Can’t justify spending time in training mode on a character that’s significantly changing in Ultimate, though.
But Trish/Ammy/Wesker would work I think.

teams that I run with trish

trish/storm/sent- power of wind super to start the dhc glitch works after any max voltage super(corner or midscreen)

trish/hulk anti-air/sent- the damage that gamma crush can tack on after a corner trish combo is just too ridiculous, and hulk plays at the anti air that trish kinda needs to keep people away.

trish/sent/phoe-when i want to be extra lame
trish/deadpool/sent- the ultimate troll team to set up the peekabo glitch

ty for the awesome post KJunk

Trying to learn Trish / X-23

I’m trying to figure out how to do the DHC between these 2, and also what is the BNB you would recommend with trish using OTG assist, tried to find the combo thread but only found corner setups and really specific combos (and tbh too hard for me)

also how do you think sent would be as an anchor, the problem with the teams you listed is that I’m a complete noob and have to rely on a “cheap” assist. I was thinking it may be good in that I could do mirage feints with his assist during round harvest (not unblockable  but mb might be tricky)

This wound up being a giant wall of text. I’m going to try and record some videos of this stuff to make it easier in the future.

So X-23 is a pretty execution intense character, similar to like Iron Man or Zero in my opinion. And similar to Zero, if you mess up with her, you’re probably going to lose her. But she has some cool stuff going on nonetheless.

Here are the combos I use with her OTG to extend the combo starting off a j.:h:

j.:h: (land) :d::l: :d::m: :h: :s: (pursue) j.:m: j.:d::h: xx j.:d::db::b::l: (Air Hop Scotch) Air Dash Forward j.:m: j.:h: (land) :h::s: (pursue up+forward) j.:m: (double jump) dj.:m::h::s: (land) :a1: :d::db::b::h: (Round Trip) :s: (pursue) j.:s:, j.:s:, land

The ending looks weird, I know. The otg assist knocks them up into Trish’s Round Trip, and then you can relaunch them up into the air. Then you smack them back down into the round trip with a j.:s:. The Round Trip brings them back up to you again for a second j.:s:. This builds good meter, does good damage, and carries them even further to the corner.

Also just as important, it leaves you with plenty of time to setup her Round Harvest unblockable after the last knockdown.

I’d start by practicing this in the corner for a while so you can figure it out.

However, Ankle Slice assist has a short range compared to other OTG assists like Wesker’s Samurai Edge or She Hulk’s Torpedo. This means if you’re not near the corner, you have you have to do slightly different things in your combos to make sure you stay close to the opponent rather than grounding them far away from you. There are 3 main ways to do this.
[]When you use :s: to launch or relaunch someone, follow it up by using Up + Forward rather than just Up. You want that horizontal movement. The tough part about this is if the opponent is too high above you when you hit :s: - Trish may ‘miss’ them with her next moves. It’s annoying. You fix this by letting them get as low to the ground as possible for your relaunch before you hit :s:. That way Trish can hug them as she pursues for the air combo.

[
]During your air combo, make sure you Double Jump Up + Forward after her j.:m:. This does two things. 1, you get that extra bit of horizontal movement. 2, because you double jumped, it ends her upward momentum from her original super jump and begins bringing her back down to the ground. The sooner you get back to the ground, the sooner you can call X-23’s assist.

Lastly, you may need to do a single ground dash as you call X-23 and throw your Round Trip. The correct notation would be :atk::atk:, :a1:, :d::db::b::h: in pretty short succession.
It takes a while to get used to it, but you’ll find you have a lot of ways to control where you end up after an air combo.

DHC wise, you should be able to go from Trish’s Max Voltage into X-23’s Weapon X Prime :f::d::df::atk::atk: from pretty much anywhere, I think. And you can DHC trick from Weapon X Prime to Round Harvest.

Sentinel works, and Akuma does too. You can still Round Harvest unblockable with both, also.

Remember, it’s X-23 that provides the low hit. This means after Trish sets up the Round Harvest, you can raw tag in Sentinel or Akuma, call X-23 and do the high and low at the same time into a death combo. Then just raw tag back to Trish after you kill them to apply pressure to the next one.

Thank you for the in depth replies!

edit:: nvm I think I got it figured out, ty for the help!.

im gonna suggest Dr. Doom as anchor based of your team he seems to be the best to support EITHER charecter with his plasma beam assist and Hidden missiles. The beam will help you get in and to a degree lockdown plus it helps you zone which is pretty good for both ammy and trish. The Hidden missiles is Gonna be hard to compensate because of how long doom stays out there but if your good at mixups and calling him then you use it…Take clockworks team for instance

His zoning with ammy protects doom and allows him to control the flow of the match and effectively zone out. Trish cant really do this unless she throws round harvest or (the regular special that locks them down). Hidden missiles also provides an otg for your team too so you can continue comboes…The major weakness to Doom is Execution and movement but once you learn those 2 things doom is a great support charecter. The major strength of your team lies in how you can EFFECTIVEL switch to ZONING from Rushdown and vice versa. On one side you do miss out on the unblockables without some one like Wesker shulk or x-23 but you do get a more DYNAMIC offence

Thanks for the suggestion Charlie88, I’ve tried Dr. Doom, but I just can’t play him :frowning:

I thought I had it figured out, but I just cant do that BNB you posted JFunk… I always have to resort to doing the other relaunch combo where you do LMH then relaunch…

The problem I have is that my the second stand H dosen’t hit deep and it’ll either make my relaunch drop, or get them too high up in the air. I’ve tried everything… changing the height of when I do j.M Dive kick… when I do the air hopscotch… delaying the input of the second H (always drops combo) and can’t figure it out…

I thought I had it figured out last night how to hit deep (delaying the j.M after hopscotch) but now I’m in training mode again and I have the same problem… so frustrating -___-

any advice on how to hit the stand H deep??

It can be somewhat character specific. There are some characters that it’s tough to do the hopscotch relaunch on, and others where it’s easy. But it’s almost always possible. If you’re worried about it, just do j.M dive kick (land) LMH on the ones where it’s tough.

I also recorded some videos this morning with Trish and X-23 that may help you out. Be sure to turn on annotations so you can read what’s going on.

Trish/X-23 DHC Combos

This is a collection of different Trish and X-23 DHC combos. There are a few regular DHCs and a few DHC tricks in the mix.

The emphasis is on practical rather than crazy.

My advice to you is to just do what you can if its beyond your current level then just practice it til you get it, trust me my execution isnt all that good so i play a non execution heavy team with a pretty decent gimmick

Thank you for the replies guys

edit - nvm I figured it out again, but is it me or the BNB super hard to do on she hulk?

Shulk has a weird hit box so a lot of combos that work on other charecters wont work on her

I’m running Viper/Trish/Ammy but I might replace Ammy with Dante

Basically using Viper’s Seismo assist to otg for Trish, while Trish sets up traps and Ammy/Dante covers the two’s approach with Cold Star/Weasel Shot.

Trish, I feel is a real MVP in the team, able to handle herself on her own, even if she can’t do amazing amounts of damage and her traps always make opponents second guess just rushing in.

Viper is nice on her own two, but my execution with her is still… a work in progress.

Ammy’s assist for the team is godlike (no pun intended) but when she’s on the field, she only does all right. Her damage definately leaves something to be desired, which is why I’m considering replacing her.

ammy does damage. you just have to learn her sword combos. She may not be Touch of death deadly, but she easily gets hits off being small, hard to see coming down from the air, and resets. Though Dante/Viper/Trish do work. You get unblockable setup regardless (Round Harvest Trap, Viper can do lvl3 focus with Weasel shot or jam sessions assist.) Dante can also get an unblockable off it but that also means having Viper use burn kick assist instead of seismo.

Trish/Viper/Assist team is basically going to come down to Trish getting the hit for the knockdown into round harvest, raw tag into viper for lvl 3 focus>death.

I can never do the air dash version of the BNB from mid screen, either the j.M whiffs after the air dash, or the H doesn’t have enough time to come out (they block it). Any tips on execution??

also- this may be kinda off topic but:

What do you guys do after someone gets caught in a peekabo (what’s the most efficient combo to do?), also same with Akuma assist, because for some reason, they flip out of the normal Trish BNBs I do.

Chris/Trish/Storm

Chris-point charecter that zones deals good chip damage and builds meter. Chris excels in this with his gun fire grenades and flamethrower chips chip damage is off the charts. His landmine prevents rushdown for a period of time which is long enough to inflict some good chip. Chris is bulky and can take hits or at worse cause the oppenent to waste xfactor to kill him. Has the second best projectile in the game MAGNUM (zero’s buster is the best) which cuts through everything from the smallest fireball to the best beams (iron man and doom). He is equippe with gunfire assist which allows him to dish chip, help with zoning, help with approaching and when you use the (triple hyper combos) his grenades otg which can help you do more damage after trish standard knockdown combos. Chris provides the same for storm exept he helps her mixup a lot more then trish.

Trish-the meter user and the heart and soul of this team. When you switch to trish or chris dies she usually should have 3-4 meters (thats if chris doesn rape by himself). Trish will usually spend those meters quickly on 2 major things Round Harvest and Dhc to hailstorm in combos. Trish can control the flow of the match after chris by transitioning to a rushdown offence full of mixups or by running away to by time, usually its the agressive part. Trish’s main purpose is to maintain flow of the match with mixups. Chris (SHOULD HAVE HOPEFULLY) done enough damage to kill half the team or at least knock everyone down to half health so the damamge on trish’s bnb doesn matter at this point. Air max voltage now does more damage because storms hailstorm, and if you do the team hyper and they block the chip damage is rediculus (i cant remember how much but i think it knocks thor down to half or a good 60% and 45% in xfactor which is dam good). Also i’ve been using a corner setup which consist of laying both traps and calling an assist on an entering oppenet which if blocked puts them in a crouching position on the ground (so the assist locks them down) which will allow trish to do air dash forward (S) which is an overhead that leads into a full combo, i’ve also used round harvest and the regular boomarang if i dont have an assit the regular works better for me they cant pushblock as easy.

Storm-If all else fails, xfactor hail. storm does everything trish does except a bit better in the rushdown department. Storm on point if a good matchup against those that chris cant handle and she will win a lot of projectile wars with her whirlwind. Mostly tho storm comes out with level 3 xfactor and one to 2 meter to spare on hailstorm chip which is about 25% chip on most charecters. She has a pretty good time against a lot of the anchors (phoenix wesker akuma). Storm is probably the most helpful dhc in the game and also provides dhc glitches to trish if you have them both together and storm on point. Something i like to do with these too is Hailstorm to round harvest (godlike chip) then tagout to storm and repeat til meters are burned. Storms synergy with either chris and trish is amazing the dhc into each other for great damage, the chip is great and the overall damage output she adds to the team along with the assist is just great.

I was using iron man but his controls are to akward to get used to and he doesn fit the playstyle once i switched to storm i felt i could control the matchups better and i still get the same effect iron man game (plus storm pushes ppl away)
So to review Chirs builds meter with his guns grenades and flamethrower (greatanti air btw), once he dies or you switch trish mixups and runaway control the game and chips ppl out with storm to aid and come in with xfactor 3 if needed to seal the deal. Great team so far and a lot of ppl like it that i’ve played

I’d like a little bit of advice on a team. I’ve just recently become interested in Trish, and I was thinking of pairing her up with Ryu and Ammy.

I was thinking that Trish/Ryu/Ammy would be the best order, but I’m also thinking that Ryu/Trish/Ammy would be useful. I think Ryu could benefit a lot from Trish’s assists. I came up with a few fun Ryu combos involving Trish’s peekaboo assist, so I was thinking that might be the best route. Any advice on whether this is a decent team or if I’d just be fighting a losing battle?

Peekaboo really kills any later comboing other than hypers. Although you can DHC trick with it, if you don’t care about playing with something that’s going to get taken out come November.

Just replace zero with ammy’s slow down.

If you want to do non-glitch combo extensions, then I feel that either of her other assists would be superior.

I agree that if you’re looking for a combo extender from Trish, you’re probably better off going with Low Voltage. But I get a lot of mileage out of Peekaboo, whether I use it as a deterrent in mixups, but it’s great for creating resets in all sorts of places in combos because they basically flip right out of it after it connects.
