Dude I’ve made several posts in these threads about ST…I play a pretty good amount. I’ve been playing A2 recently too I don’t know too much about the advanced stuff but it’s so fun.

Do you guys use HD combos very often? Or just use a super? Depends?
I’m finding most of my team’s HD combos (aside from Duo surprisingly) don’t do much more than I can do with their SDM combos…

I use HD in pretty in every match
my teams hd combos rage from 700-1000 depending on character meter etc
But besides big damage there good for doing really good damage without using super meter if you want save it for later or kill without using super meter
Is there a term for doing a down - up charge move by holding down back and then using up back?
Basically doing the motion but by holding back the entire time, rather than hitting neutral position.

Yeah mang HDs are the biz. As Josh said a lot of characters can kill you as soon as they touch you provided they have the HD and meter. Also they are great for inexpensive punishes as you cando a lot of dmg before you even need to start using meter.
I don’t play K’, but I find it VERY hard to believe his HD combos wouldn’t do much dmg. Again, I don’t play him.
But yeah, HDs are great. I’ll even crank one out with m 1st or 2nd char if I have advantage and am “feeling myself.”

@Grimstar: RE KOF HD combos- They are the business man. Like Josh said most of the cast can do 80 - 100% with full HD and 3 bars or higher. Even without any super bar or maybe only 1 your still gonna get nice damage. Its especially worth it if you know you can kill a character because being up a char in this game is a huge advantage

On another note, @Memphis: You guys want to start ranbats this month? Last two weeks of each month will be ranbat weeks. Probably SF/Marvel and KOF (since it takes forever). With the help of about 4-5 other people, we have a new set of rules and what not in place to help fix the issues from last season … also, we incorporated a way to play for $ if you so desire. I know not everyone wants to put a wager up for it, but if you do - then the option is there.

Yeah definitely found some after messing around last night. Mainly K’s are different now from how they were in the arcade version.
But for K’ it’s really only useful to do HD if you have neomax available… Otherwise you can just use a cancel stock and do just as much damage without doing HD combos. I guess for him it’s just useless to waste the HD mode unless you can Neomax. Maybe it’s like that for a lot of other characters too.

Yeah I think it depends on your char. I know there are times with King I will blow HD bar to do dmg while saving super bar since she needs bar for wake up and some punishment options.
