Uh, you played me quite a few times in ST on Kaillera. I’m positive because ST was the only game I played; bose, remember? I just got on Live a couple weeks ago. You’re right that EC is lacking in good online ST players though.
Hmm… I honestly don’t remember playing you until the 2df days. I did play ST on kaillera ages ago… like 2001-2002 kind of thing. That was until I realized it was too crappy on kaillera and switched to Champion Edition. Are you talking about that long ago? Otherwise I did play ST on kaillera the odd time here and there to remind myself that it sucked, but it was pretty rare.
JigglyNorris definitely has the best Hawk I’ve seen to date. His grabs were nearly Jodim-like. I swear I was reversing them correctly but NO!
And I definitely need more Hawk-Hawk practice.
I played you like once or twice on 2DF. A lot of the matches were during the Super Sundays P2P time period I guess.
Here’s something I had to dig out. Played an awful little for folks to remember you in 2007, eh: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=142570
Um, I guess I’ve melded 2df with the Super Sundays stuff and the nfba netcode that came before it. I think that link you pulled up pertained to that? Fuck I don’t remember all this stuff anymore.
Nope, that was for Kaillera. NFBA p2p came around that time and Super Sundays initially used that (while Raisin manually kept track of points on IRC), remember? Then midway, we started using damdai’s Super Sundays interface and that eventually turned into 2DF with a Super Sundays section.
Basically, my point is that you used to play ST on Kaillera enough for people to remember (pretty sure I played you like every 2 weeks) and didn’t have an issue. But it seems after 2DF, your standards have risen.
I certainly can’t ever go back to Kaillera-level lag (man, repeated jump-ins and tick throws killed me for free back then) but I’ll take STHD’s netcode. In any case, I’ll try to play you sometime on Live if you’re up for some Guile-claw matches.
I nearly screamed like a girl at that compliment.
Thanks Kuroppi, those really were some intense fights with you, and especially with your Gief.
For the record, I did fight Jodim once, and I beat him on my fourth try.

Wait, now that I think about it, didnt kaillera have a stage when it became p2p? When I refer to kaillera I mean when it was on servers like Godweapon and such.
Anyway sure we can play some time.
feel free to add me. im from boston like brian
damn if u’re so good why don’t you come to a local tournament some time so i can beat you.
srsly though there is probably going to be an hdr side tourney on the one on the 23rd and there will definitely be on on the 30th… info is in the tournament section. Come get whipped by PSN :clown:
It would be great to see who would come out on top if there was a tournament between XBOX live top players vs. PSN top players just have top three guys for each character come out or something
Jigglynorris I remember playing your T. Hawk a couple time and it was pretty fun. Haven’t lost to you with my Blanka yet, but damn sure gave me the best competition out of other T. Hawk players I’ve seen maybe we can play again sometime
XBL Brian I would also love to play you’re Guile since its supposed to be really good I am always down for that match up
Bluetallcans/Papichao(exp.)
Yeah, sort of. But we had already played quite a few times before. Maybe I just remember that time period really well since it wasn’t easy finding someone to play against all the time unlike the luxury now of picking good players to play against.
Anyway, I’ll add you 2 Boston folks next time I’m on Live.
SG10x: Heh, I’m not sure that’s fair since most PSN-exclusive players (almost everyone but John Choi and NKI) are relatively new to the game whereas the top folks on Live are predominantly OG. I think they’ll need at least a year of serious play to compete but a few players are really dedicated and getting good at this point. IMO, your Blanka is still the best on either platform.
If we removed everyone who played in an ST tourney before STHD came out, my bet would be on PSN. PSN has a really close-knit competitive STHD community full of enthusiastic active players. But regardless of platform, it’s nice to see folks actively playing this great game.
He’s great at winning fights with only grabs.
You sir are number 1.
Stop fucking whining, and filling my inbox with hatemail. I beat you fair and square. I didn’t use turbo, i had just as much lag etc as you did…I’m just BETTER than you. Period. Get over it. There are thousands of better players than me out there, and i don’t whine if they throw my ass all over the place because i’m not as good/quick/smart as them. It happens to me all the time, and i DEAL WITH IT. Yeah i threw you a lot in that matchup, so fucking what, it suited me to do it because it was easy, quick damage, and you hadn’t got a fucking clue what to do to stop me. Some matchups come down to scoring as much damage as possible with sneaky tactics to put the odds back in your favour. If you don’t like it then stay the fuck away from me or learn to mash out a fucking counter throw or reversal instead of moaning like a little bitch.
Anyone who calls me a “cheap grabbing pussy” or tells me i “can’t win without throws” is going on my avoided players list, so you won’t have to worry about running into me again.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CHEAP.You should spend more time in training mode and less time sending hate mail. Quit crying like a little bitch. Learn from your loss, use it to improve, and then get the fuck over it and move on.
That’s my last word on it.Have a nice life.
I know Legionarus. He’s a sore loser that has no place here. He complains about my Hawk.
you didnt just beat him, you broke his spirit, thats why he’s sending you hate mail.
Here’s something you may not know: Without mucus, your stomach would digest itself. (I know I have some “Penguins Of Madagascar” fans in the house! C’mon now!)
Here’s something relevant to this discussion you may not know…

(Begin quote)
Tick Throw (TT): A tick throw sounds like its name. You make contact with the opponent with a move and then, provided the opponent hasn?t been knocked down, you throw them when they come out of hit stun or block stun. (This should tell you that this is not a true combo, but it is important for the purposes of this FAQ since throws can dizzy, even though they have a very small stun value.)
Now, I just alluded to the fact that you cannot throw a person while they are in hit stun or in block stun. In addition to that, your opponent can perform a reversal special move or reversal throw in the very last animation frame of getting up, in the very last animation frame of coming out of hit stun or block stun, and in the very instant animation frame that they land from being hit out of the air by a move that doesn?t knock down. In light of all of this, the logical conclusion is that you must time and disguise your attempt properly because tick throws can be escaped or countered if the opponent knows they are coming.
For example, Zangief is known for throwing out an attack and then either interrupting that attack or linking after that attack into his Spinning Pile Driver. This is very effective because you can link or cancel into the Spinning Pile Driver with such timing that it grabs immediately when the opponent comes out of hit/block stun. As in this case, you have an extra advantage if your character?s throw range is greater than your opponent?s, as this allows you to perform tick throw attempts without worrying about being counter-thrown. Because the throw range of the Spinning Pile Driver is much greater than any regular throw, counter-throwing Zangief is very difficult (if not impossible) when this is properly done. However, a reversal special move that?s either invincible on startup, cannot be thrown on startup, instantly hits on startup (provided you make contact), or is instantly airborne will save you.
In other words, if you get thrown, it?s your own fault because you let your opponent get that close and you guessed wrong. It?s not ?cheap?. There?s no such thing. It?s a mind game and mind games are very present in high-level play. Out-think your opponent and you will win.
(End quote)
I say all that to say that you have no ground to stand on by trying to make someone else look bad for winning by throwing you. The only person you’re embarassing is YOURSELF. You just told everybody on this thread that you’re Geese Howard’s Knockdown Blow training partner because you’re…
PREDICTABLE!
Don’t whine. Man up. Become tricky. There’s still a chance for you to get mentioned in this thread.
Peace out.

Thats true I can see where you’re coming from. I have never played on PSN maybe I would just like to see how the competition compares I guess. I wish they still had the XBOX live HD tourneys they used to have it would be fun to see everyone come out and play. I know some people like Mr. X64 and Raakam know which tournaments im talking about
It’s true, PSN has a realllly tight group of players. I haven’t won every tournament I’ve been to (but I haven’t placed lower than 2nd) but let’s just say the comp I’ve faced online >>>>> the comp I’ve come across in offline tournaments. XBL just had the OG’s but some of us aren’t scared of names.
BTW Jiggy I was serious about you coming out and playing us, you would go through so many of the locals easily plus I really want to play you since I’ve heard about you and have seen you play.
