I dunno man, I thought it was strictly down to the angle/orientation at which their hurt box is left falling in after the first hyper which makes the Flare juggle in that way. As opposed to it simply being a case of getting them to the right height. Not sure though, I’ve never really tested it that extensively, though I’ve never found it to work with Iron Fist in the 9 months I’ve been using him and Dorm together.
Someone would have to care enough to test it, haha. Doesn’t Iron Fist’s PD hyper prop people pretty high up?
Well his Iron Rage wall bounce can get them almost high enough I think, but they don’t sit right on the Flare, and his Spirit of the Dragon leaves them in the wrong hurtbox shape for it too, as well as sending them much too high in the first place even if it did work.
Edit: So it works with X23 as well. The Flare itself seems to automatically manipulate them into the right shape for it to stagger them as most of the time by the end of a Flare hitting it starts to stagger them on top of it anyway. So that’s one factor that some hypers are better for than others, but as well as that when characters fall a long way onto a Flare, they seem to carry momentum down into it when they first hit, and it takes longer for it to get them back on top of it and start staggering it into 2 hits at a time.
Hello fellow Dorms. In the coming days I should have a spell video up soon for my Dante/Dormammu/Magneto team. Dormammu is really disgusting in the corner with this team. I don’t think I posted it here but it’s going to be more of this:

Just the more practical versions.
Can’t wait for that video Gomu - those 3 have remarkable synergy and can run in basically any order.
It seems like it has to be slightly above regular jump height…are there any specific assist that pop people up like that. I’m thinking maybe hagger could make this happen.
In regards to dormammu’s SF making people do the ROBERT BOUNCE (ricky smiley refernce)
Sometimes I think the best buff Dormammu could get is making Dark Dimension a level 1 hyper that does mediocre damage (like 250K max). He gets so many good setups off of it, but it costs 3 whole damn bars. Meter is like a second lifebar for Dormammu - you can’t burn it lightly.
It’s pretty nasty, you just need to know which combos to do based on the situation. It’s similar to the Masta CJ but just way cooler looking. I actually got a few perfects against good players with the set ups. The flow of the match pretty much went like this:
Dante gets a hit and takes them to the corner > DHC into Dorm for the kill (Stalking Flare if it will kill) > Charge one spell > Incoming corner mixup with EM Disruptor > Spell combo into death (Can use Stalking Flare spike into Chaotic Flame for 1 mill characters) > Charge spell and repeat.
They’re not exactly TODs but all of the relevant characters should die and the meter gain is not bad either.
So i’ve been doing some testing and there are quite a few charecters that can setup that zak bennet corner combo with stalk flare. Its seems just about anyone who could start the dhc glitch in the last game and put the oppenent in the air before u stalking flare can do this. Also anyone who can pop the oppenent in the air in there hyper can generally do this as long as its slow enough. Current charecters i’ve tested are
Thor-Might Tornado air version and mighty punish works
Hulk-Gamma Crush
Spencer-Both hypers work
Frank West-Cinamatic hyper
Tron-Lunchtime
Vergil can do it but its really tricky usually not worth trying anyways
Akuma can do it from air fireballs hyper
Viper- can do this from her otg hyper must do it after the 3rd hit of it other wise it wont work.
Modok-can do it with all 3 hypers
Wolverine- can do it with his air hyper cant remember what its called and sorta inconsistent
Deadpool-can do it with cuttin time but to situational and impractical…back has to be facing the corner to do it
Spidey-air maximum spider
Haggar- set it up with the old dhc glitch
Task,aster- Air Angled Legion Arrows
Dante-do acid rain in a combo then do either of his hypers, and dhc to dorm
This is the majority of the cast and there are others who can do it in certain situations but this is just off of using hypers in combos. There is more potential to explore here. The really interesting thing here is alot of the top tiers on this list already do ubsurd damage and naw u can just tag dorm along to boost that damage even further.
It’d be great if we could make it work for any character that has a DHC into Flare, but I think that might be too optimistic. Good work so far though!
Thanks although I havent tested the whole cast yet, most of the common played charecters can use this to some effect. The one surprise that I couldnt to work is storm. Maybe someone else could come up with something.
There was a video posted about this tech a while ago, but it took ZakBennett to really get people galvanized about it. I can’t find it right now, but whatever. It’s godlike, and I’m glad it works with Felicia. I’m pretty sure you can do it with She-Hulk’s Emerald Cannon also.
You can pretty much do it with everyone if you have the proper setup for it. Like for example to add to the list I have above hagger can do it if you set it up like in vanilla with the dhc glitch toss em in the air perform any hyper dhc to dorm then finish your plate lol
Some of the ones I listed above are really inconsistent especially depending on sizes of certain charecters so its just a matter of learning your team and who works for you. I was using felicia at first but I think im going to switch to Hagg/Dorm/Frank because its a guaranteed kill plus a minimum of a level 3 frank. Plus you can get some guaranteed unblockable setups once Frank hits level 3.
Man this game is really fucking stupid lmao. The only game where you can start off with nothing kill a charecter and be meter positive plus position to ocv and perfect the oppenent off the right touch smh lol
I can’t decide on order and assists for this potential team.
I got dante xf3 combos but no xf3 dante.
I’m alright with dorm on anchor but ehhh
I’m pretty good with magnus on anchor.
So I was thinking.
Either dante,dorm,magnus
or mags,dante,dorm.
dante,mags,dorm.
Dorm,Dante,Magnus.
I can’t decide between dorm,dante,magnus or dante,dorm, magnus.
As for assists. Disruptor and dark hole but what for dante. Probably not weasel because I have disruptor. And I don’t really know how good crystal is for dorm combos because it is a slow slow slow otg and jam session is great but I don’t know what dorm can do with it other than zone (which is great but I’ve never had an otg assist with dorm so I don’t know how much I need one.)
Jam Session is really good for Dormammu; crossups, good get-off me assist, decent for combos. I don’t really play Dante but I think Karst will back me up on this.
Dante/Dorm/Magneto is my preferred order, all Alpha assists.
I used to have Dorm on point with Dante second but I got tired of getting rushed down in the beginning. Dante has the better neutral and he can bring Dorm in safely and on his terms where he shines. Mags is always on anchor because his assist is the main offensive assist, and gives Dante and Dorm mixups. Dark Hole is decent for Dante because he can use it for lockdown mixups and extend his combos. Jam session is just godlike for Dorm, it extends his combos midscreen, he can a mixup off it on block, and if Jam session hits a grounded opponent you can teleport , j.:h: and get one rep of the jump loop.
These videos may be helpful to you, I’m making a proper video on the spell one that will have all the set ups so sit tight for that.

HOLY SHIT that second combo <3
I think I love you but one question is 3d the most damaging ender. I’m thinking 2c1d is slightly better or maybe not I will be using this combo when I get back home but for now Ill just have to theorycraft some new ideas.
Maybe he’s going for more meter? 'Cause Dormammu’s such a meter whore.
Does it even build more meter?
