To be fair on my part, this argument was incited when I attempted to defend Gonzales’ position while supplementing my observations. Clearly, this entire event did nothing but cause a very ad hominem attack upon our person via internet bullying. This, I believe, was an unwarranted hijacking of an event announcement which could have been solved through another communication medium. This display is spiteful and unnecessary. If it is such a big problem to have members in the SRK community to have differing opinions to the majority, I will simply delete my account and will not discuss the matter further.

man st did not kill hyper fighting because it is noobier that doesnt even make sense. and hyper fighting is not way better than ST and dont give me the some of the same reasonings that gonzo gave me about it being faster so it needs faster execution cuz i will tell you what i told him “then marvel is the best cuz you need the fastest reflexes and best execution”. and ya rage was just added in T6 but if ima compare tekken to 4 ima compare the most recent version of tekken but even in T5 you would be winning(or it could be the start of a round) a round get caught in a beefy combo then guess wrong on oki and just lose a round.

take a chill pill. no one said you have to like sf4, but don’t come on strong hating on a game without legitimate reasons other than mere tastes.
I would also like to use this post to mention that bumps in threads are great and all but it’s really easy to get people to AVOID your tourney by having one of the people running it get into such a silly argument like this (seriously man this shit looks like console wars on gamefaqs) and defending it beyond what it was meant to be with sand-castle reasoning.

Oh yeah? Why don’t you ask Jeff Schaefer that and see what he tells you. in Hyper Fighting you don’t play for meter or some super that does 40%, it’s positioning and foosties all day. Seriously, no one who’s played both thinks ST is better than HF, almost anyone can tell you that. You can win matches in ST by making one smart move with meter sometimes and not a series of smart decisions throughout the match. That’s the in-depth version of my “noobier” argument. Im not a top player in either game but I have heard detailed arguments for both and have played both myself, and its difficult to argue when almost all the top players for both think of HF as “golden -age” street fighter game. :chat:
Anyways, there’s a youtube video online where Jeff Shchaeffer describes point by point why he feels Hyper Fighting is a better game. But yeah If this is about me saying that HF is “way better” than ST, then I should probably say that I personally exagerated the way better part (although some people really do think its WAY better). I personally love ST though, so the argument about which one is better holds little weight for me, if any.
As for Tekken, me and Defcon talked for two hours about that on friday, so Im not going to put down all of that here again lol. I would love to talk to you about it next time I see you if you care enough to discuss it by then though. There are strengths and weaknesses to the way both games play, but it isn’t invalid for someone to like Tekken better.

But guessing wrong on oki is what the game is about. That’s what makes Tekken great. No matter what, the person standing over the other person has the advantage. There is no risk for the aggressor, since he has earned that knockdown. IMO, if you mess up and are put in that situation, you don’t deserve an easy way out. You were put there for a reason.
