I’m not “letting go” of anything. There is nothing to let go. I’m not holding any anger or aggression towards zoob, and I held back a lot of my opinions on a lot of things to prevent drama from happening (Between work and college I don’t have time for a lot of things, including drama). I’m just trying to help zoob out before he does something silly like, say, delete his SRK account. I’m delivering my perspective on the situation and I don’t consider “4 hours” dead on a forum where threads can go days before receiving replies and still be considered alive, to be dead.
The ‘butthurt’ was just a joke. Please try to not take everything so seriously, I’m just trying to deliver my perspective on the matter. I’ve been in the same exact situation that you have been in, in a different community. I’ve learned the best move now is just not to play, but I believe you’ve already realized this so I’ll stop mentioning it.
The problem is nobody ever directed anything towards you in this thread at all. Another problem would be that everything you said I already took the time to express towards Zoob and several other people who were involved in this with a lot more maturity and clarity than using terms like “butthurt” (publicly no less) when nobody was really even angry. Let’s accept that what you said was unecessary. It just seemed like you were intentionally being opportunistic and adding on to what pretty much EVERYONE already said, and what use is that now? Also, nice play on words but it is ultimately the “butthurt zoob” conversation that has been dead for hours, not the thread. When you think about it no one was talking about threads and the ratio of time/replies on average on SRK were they? Didn’t think so. Really my stance on this is not difficult to understand at all, unless you are intentionally being difficult there isn’t much else to say nor is there any reason to defend yourself. No offense. Everyone is cool now. With your permission I would like to get this thread back on topic or at least away from this monumental misunderstanding.

But in tekken what leads to the chocolate cake can what make the game not as fun… though I was an earlier later tekken player… well not that early but TTT/T4/T5… theres alot of fucking gimmicks that outweigh other characters by alot. The freeformance(not a real word) of the game leads into the said nonsense that you so right deserve(aka mash uppercut). Just my imo. EWGF you later.

SHOCKING!! a old player thinks the old game is better. you know that when the ST boom happened again with ggpo and before that they were mostly old players coming back to a game they all enjoyed with HF being an option that nobody went to. And yes I like HF better because i like 9-1 matchups ryu vs honda instead of 8-2 matchups ST ryu vs honda. Ive played both HF and ST and i think ST is way better (nes too) but i guess since im not known as a ST player it doesnt really count. Super does change the flow of a match but to get the meter you need to make good decisions. To get a meter and land it does not guarantee a win especially in ST where u can eat a throw and lose 30% of your life.
I have heard alot of the arguments comparing HF and ST and I still see how ST is better even if its just for the way it changes the flow of a matchup even a really bad matchup when the losing character gets the meter and forces the aggressor to change the way he pressures to force a super or to beat them for looking for a spot to put the super. and show me what you are reading that shows HF is better because most of the arguments are up to opinion as to what should work. of course if you are winning you dont want to be challenged on your dominance but thats what super does and forces you to adapt.
But Will, you have to understand that the argument about which one is better based on how much it gets played is largely invalid though, If simply because the community automatically shifts to the most recent game in the series, better or worse. Kind of like how some people have good reasons for thinking that 2nd Impact is better than 3rd Strike (I wouldn’t know anything about that, never tried 2nd Impact, and didn’t know much about 3rd Strike) but even if they are true no one plays 2nd Impact because 3rd Strike is what is out now, so that’s not a good reason to say 3rd Strike is better. People will always make the latest version the most popular.
As for your second paragraph there, your basically describing why Super Turbo dumbs down the gameplay from Hyper Fighting. The aspect of the meter for a lot of people really turned the idea of fishing for the super or avoiding the super into a kind of mini-game instead of keeping the positioning as the most paramount of the games aspects. A lot of players prefer the idea that you are rewarded for good strategy by having even better chances of winning the match. It’s a different style of game, kind of Strategy vs. Tactics. That’s just the way I look at it.
OG SF3 is ass… if anyone wants to run it in NG/2i I’ll show you why those games are ass thank you smiles. I think st helped og sf in a whole, non meter sf2 is great but c’mon now. The main reason og’s got sick of sf2 was the release of solid fps/rts with online play that is still unrivaled and some people just grew out of it. I mean GG hasn’t even hit the amount of revisions sf2 had. Tactics are part of strategy… what street fighter has that other games don’t is player style meta games. I mean West Coast SF2 never played eddie or any of our turtle originators back in the day… what could be considered as scrubby runaway could of revolutionized a lot more at hand.
except for when a2 gold came out or the other version of a3 came out or even now when theres a split in the sf2 players because half are ok with HDR and the other half just do not like it in favor of ST. 3S adjusted the parry timings for the better and some of the arguements for 2I are as simple as chun li didnt exist to fuck the game and yun genei jin didint exist. 2I wasn’t as good as 3S just by seeing that one of the best characters was ibuki with her gimmicks and fast mixups instead of a sort of ranging and footsies.
i thought i was buggin cuz you made it sound like you would get a full meter from getting beat up so i went and started up ST on a emulator and taking hits doesnt net you meter. So you have to get your own meter to pressure with super and even having the meter lets say in Chun vs Ryu, chun is going to start having to keep charge to look for fireball to punish ryu but now ryu can really play with the spacing without using fireball and now using his sweep and c.mk. Without meter ryu is just pressuring with fireballs and landing free AA’s if she jumps making it a pretty ugly match until she can get a lucky jump or a lucky throw. so chun gets meter and now if she wants to land it she sits down and has to just try to defend against good pokes and strong throws and even if she does the charge hold to walk at you you can wait til it comes out or jump hurricane around her to just fuck it up. and even if im just winning with ryu i get super and now i have another really strong option to close the deal with.
so to all this drama i have decided to have my own tourny tekken 3 at the big e With the winner getting a burger with a glaze doughnut for a bun.:party:
