However, I wonder if they’ll do two versions again - or if they’ll take a soft approach, say the corny comic book fight model of show up, scrap over a misunderstanding, then unite to take out a common foe?
Despite being salty leaving the theater, I do enjoy the 2014 Godzilla quite a bit. The “fat” design of Legendary Godzilla also works for me alongside the classic versions I grew up with on UHF stations. King of the Monsters could have been better, and the sad fanboy part of my brain wants this one to be better.
Legendary Godzilla has really grown on me, I liked the design from 2014 besides the tree trunk feet that just looked horrid to me. However KotM Godzilla is the perfect Legendary version imo, since it has it keeps the look while also incorporating characteristics of the OG version with the spikes, and the modification of the feet which looks 10x better.
Hesei Godzilla to me, is still the best looking Godzilla of all time, while GMK also looked cool as well, however Legendary G (KoTM) has now stepped into the Top3 best looking Godzillas of all time in my book.
Feels utterly disconnected from previous movies. As if they went through the effort of crafting the coveted “cinematic universe”, but don’t understand why or how to market it. Hopefully it’s just a trash trailer.
I’ll give it a watch, because Godzilla has always been in my life; but hype? Zero.
Full blown sarcasm: Looks like an excellent sequel to Rampage.
Yet it amazes me how the modern cities and civilization on that Earth is still standing, and heavyweight championship fights with Godzilla & King Ghidorah.
It looks amazing, and if the promises that were spoken are kept than this movie should be good, also, I’ve spoiled myself by looking at some spoilers, however I’m still going to go watch this movie, because it’s my #1 Monster of all time, Godzilla.
I want to see him to Layeth the Smackdown on the giant big ape, and showcase that he’s the True King of the Monsters.
After this, my “one” hope is that we get another Godzilla villain, like either Destroyah, or maybe Kaiser Ghidorah by making him multi-dimensional like the anime counterpart? That’s the only way to really amp up the stakes after this movie in my opinion.
There’s plenty of time for Godzilla and Kong to be interrupted by Legendary’s OC Donut Steel kaiju requiring them to combine forces to defeat it before the end of the films run time.
On the Battle Axe…remember…spoiler click only if you don’t mind.
From the “leaks” that I read (At least what they stated, so I’m going on that), the Axe was supposed to have been created a long, long time ago in ancient times. This is because the Kong species could never truly contend against the Godzilla species whom were the most dominant Titans and the real Kings, and so the axe was made by the worshipers of the Kong species to “try” and even the odds.
I’m sure they’re doing this on purpose, that’s because in reality we know this fight would be absolutely lopsided towards the True King of the Monsters.
However for dramas sake, you gotta make it look like Kong has the upperhand, I mean, they literally have him wielding a weapon as well.
Can’t wait for March 26, that’s all I can say, going to reserve my ticket along with a few of my friends for this, because a movie such as this is 100% worth going to the theaters for.
