I hate the fact that he’s as strong as he is simply because I’ve always enjoyed playing the character, and never simply because of “how powerful” he was. I played him in CoTA and I played him in MvC2 well before all of the bugs/tricks were discovered. I just think he’s extremely fun, but then at the same time I now feel guilty every time I pick him, and I shouldn’t.
Fun fact: characters who have larger health pools get a much greater benefit from X-Factor. Yes Chun Li is a nightmare, but she’s just as dead as anyone with one combo. X-Factored Storm is nothing special over the rest of the cast without meters either.
No they don’t, and you’re just denying an obvious truth. Ok, maybe that’s not entirely true. Maybe in the hands of someone who is extremely good with the other characters, they will be able to deal out more damage because they won’t drop a moderate to complex combo, especially with the increased speed altering tempo. Yet with Sentinel, all that’s required is 2-3 basic hits on the majority of the cast for a KO, which are easy to land after the initial hit.
Sentinel and Thor get a 220% damage increase through lvl 3 X-Factor if you want “numbers”. Most pixie characters sit around 150% - 170% with the zoners at 180% - 190%. Only The Hulk and Iron Man gain a larger damage boost, by 10%.
No, they don’t. High health or no, you get hit, you just lost the majority of your X-Factor waiting for their combo to end. And then they get to take the position of their choice in order to lame out the rest of the timer. X-Factor is comeback mode; you don’t let them touch you, or it’s over.
Fun fact: Characters with shitty mix-up get fuck-all out of X-Factor because they can’t fucking land a hit.
Fast mixup characters get even faster mixups while also getting their damage boosted to threatening levels. Sentinel’s damage is already threatening, making the damage boost mostly pointless, and his mixup still sucks.
Irrelevent. He already does good damage. About 30-40% is all he needs. Everything above that is just overkill that makes no difference.

LOL? Hailstorm is nothing special. Shinkuu does more chip, can’t be easily stuffed like hail, can’t be super-jumped on reaction like hail. Akuma’s beam is almost identical to Shinkuu. Both of Dormammu’s supers are significantly faster than hail and do comparable chip, one is WAY faster, and the other is completely unavoidable. Deadpool’s gun super is seemingly instantaneous, and does only a little bit less chip than these others. Chris’s flamethrower does more chip than hail.
It’s great that now your focus is turning into which characters can do better chip damage, when Sentinel doesn’t even need any meter to kill someone. And “five minutes in training mode” is a gross exaggeration. Yes, combos are easy in this game, the good combos not as much, and having another 150% speed on top of an already quick character takes some adjustment. How many other characters have such a large focus on how to overcome them already? I’m sure it’s just because no one has any idea right? 
It’s not. You’re misrepresenting my argument in order to make it easier to refute. That’s called a strawman. YOU brought up Storm’s chip, I simply pointed out that there is nothing especially impressive about Storm’s chip, as several characters do a better job quite easily.
With a 50%+ damage increase, most/all characters can kill with 1 bar or less. And many characters can build most/all of the 1 bar necessary in the process of doing the combo.
What Sentinel DOES need is for his opponent to be shitty at blocking, because that’s the only way he’ll land a hit. Fast mixup characters have no such requirement, because they’re mixup characters, and as such have a much, much, much easier time landing hits.
Fine, fifteen minutes. It takes the same amount of time to learn as any other combo. Not much.
Uh, by “combos” I obviously meant “good combos”. And they are easy. No one gives a shit how easy/hard bad combos are. Why would we?
Focus from scrubs and idiots and casuals, who naturally make up a much larger portion of the playerbase than the experts. Every zoning character can zone him out. Every melee character can get in on him easily, and can beat him up close. His assist is strong, but also highly stuffable.
Honestly, you should play a character regardless of what anyone thinks if you truly enjoy doing so. Maybe some people just enjoy smacking people with a giant menacing robot. I have no problem with that at all, most of us play games to have fun and be entertained, so why not?
I’m not expecting a patch, I’ve pretty much accepted the fact that he’s a powerful opponent you just gotta learn to deal with, and I won’t allow one character to ruin this game for me. To me the game is way too fun for that, plus I’ve figured out some decent counters after playing a few. Might as well learn the fight now instead of wait for a patch.

In other words, Sent’s popularity should get burned out after major tourneys, since everyone will know how to beat the shit out of 'em.
Then everyone’s going to start dickriding whoever beat Sent with whatever character he/she used… Sorta like how everyone start using Fei Long after Inthul beat several top players in SSFIV…
