A friend of mine plays kabal and we ran into an odd occurance and spent some time trying to replicate the situation.
In this video, Kabal first walks back as far as he can, and sub-zero takes 2 steps before he ice clones. Kabal then performs a nomad rush, in which Kabal will hit the ice clone, but disappear behind sub-zero. I then follow Kabal with an Ice slide and he starts to teleport away in an odd way.
The second attempt was to see what would happen if i actually caught up with kabal while he was frozen so i performed the same glitch in the corner, and even though he was frozen, Kabal was in an “invulnerable state” and I was unable to hit him and walked through him.
The rest of the video was to show that in a closer distance, kabal uses nomad rush and collides into sub-zero’s ice clone and freezes on contact with no glitch effect.
the combo system in this game…like I’m literally about to sell this game and go back to tekken. There are no visual cues at all for this shit. None. I shouldn’t have to try for hours to land shit that should be easy on paper.
I’m maining quan chi if it matters.
This b2, 1, dash repeat shit is not rewarding enough to spend hours on getting the timing. Feel like I’m trying go learn julia or something. The fuck.
Sorry I just had to vent. I just feel like the timing for some of this shit is ridiculous. Feels like learning juggles in tekken is far easier. Probably because I’ve been playing tekken since tekken 2 and the system for mk9 is different than other mk’s…Feels like some sf4 type timing or something.
I understand your frustration as a friend of mine plays Quan Chi and gets upset about the same things. Quan Chi is kind of slow, and he’s okay. B+2 1 string can be tedious. You must dash after the first hit and immediately cancel it into another hit…he can follow up with a hit or 2 and do a Trance attack to bring him back to you.
Quan Chi is very different from most characters in this game, his stomp can set up some good gimmicks, but overall he’s pretty slow and you must be patient and use your meter wisely.
Yup, I installed the game onto the HD on the first day and have been running it straight from the XBL Dashboard.
I read on another forum to turn off all the Social Messaging Options to remedy the freezing as sometimes trying to communicate with the servers might cause that issue.
I turned off all the Social Messaging and did 30+ Babalities with no problem, so let’s hope that continues
Don’t know if this has been reported but something happened today that was really weird. I was playing as Jade, in her second costume, second color option, in arcade mode against Sub-Zero on the Subway stage. At the end I performed her second fatality on Sub-zero and after it was over, when Jade did her pose, her left breast is gone, possibly flattened. I tried to recreate the situation in versus, and it didn’t work, but I have not yet tried to go through arcade mode with her again.
I just got the game, really fun so far, but anybody have character intro voices not play? I was playing arcade more and the fighters lips would move but no voices come out.
This has probably already been mentioned but the recording system in practice mode is total garbage. I mean I recorded these great combos I wanted to share with people and when I played it back it didn’t even play it the way it was supposed to.
My character seemed to either follow the reversed inputs or he whiffed them completely. That’s really frustrating.
Not sure what is causing this but it should get fixed.
A fair amount of the time when the opponent disconnects, it actually gives YOU the disconnect. I have 7-8 disconnects that occurred in this way. Very annoying, and I’d love to see it dealt with. I don’t want to be punished for having my opponent dc on me!
Edit: It happens whenever the server drops the game. This can happen when your opponent floods the match with data instead of straight-up DCing. I’m now at over 10 of these DCs awarded to me, and it’s getting very stupid.
I’m not sure how to replicate this, but during ‘challenge tower mode’ I had a series of matches where ‘dangling articles’ of clothing get stuck to random parts of the screen. Here is a video of it, it’s pretty hilarious:

Kind of wish I also captured when I played against Sheeva, and her breasts counted as ‘dangling articles of clothing.’
I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced or heard of this elsewhere:
I hopped online and joined a KOTH game, the next match started, and about 10-15 seconds or so into it the game froze and locked up my 360. The only thing I could do was manually power it off by hitting the button on the front of the console. Powered it back on and the frozen image of that KOTH match was still on screen and super-imposed over the dashboard, and the colors of everything was extremely faded. I immediately powered off my 360 and disconnected the power supply. Haven’t used it since.
I thought it was because my 360(original model) was about to RROD(please, no console war BS!), but was recently told on a different website it was some kind of bug with MK9. Something to do with anyone in the game opening a pause menu or something during the character intro’s. But as I said before, this weird lockup happened during the actual match. So now I’m unsure of this, especially as I hadn’t heard of this supposed bug before.
Bug or incoming RROD? And yes, I do have the game currently installed.
