Glitches, Issues or Problems in MK9? Report here!

I have this problem too, and it’s annoying as hell. Changing to any of the presets doesn’t help. The only way to fix it, as the quoted post said, is to exit and re-enter.

Also (this isn’t really a glitch but something I feel was overlooked), I think we should be able to assign the same function to more than one button. For example, I’d really like to have BLOCK assigned to two seperate buttons on my stick.

Sometimes on The Street’s stage fatality the body of the car is invisible. Unfortunately I don’t have a way to take a picture or video.

Noob saibot has three versions of blackhole for behind, directly on top of, and in front of opponent. He can only cancel into the directly on top of version which is very strange.

So I finally got my copy late on Wed April 20th - it was a TE. First thing I noticed - I have a short in the USB cable towards the mini-USB side. It randomly would ask me to reconnect my controller. When it worked, it worked great. I love everything except the buttons - I miss my Sanwas. Love the bat stick way more than the Mad Catz one. The stick is a monster.

I started up a support ticket on the PDP site and they called me at home shortly thereafter. I spoke with a guy called Mark and apparently they had not anticipated an issue as they did a limited run with some company in China. I told him normally I wouldn’t care because you can buy mini USB to USB cables anywhere but I wanted the breakaway cable feature that all Xbox controllers use, on top of it being so new.

Well, he isn’t quite sure he believes me regarding the short - he understands the mini-usb end isn’t real secure on the stick side and I kept repeating that it is definitely not the connection but in fact a short. It was doing some weird things too, like the Xbox jewel on the stick would blink in two quadrants and get stuck that way, or if the Xbox itself was off and I moved the cable around it would blink for a split second, etc.

He basically sent FedEx to pick up the stick and ship it back (not just the cable?) and for proof, here is the tracking number: 997353750087751.

Well… this affected my one fight with Pig of the Hut who then started talking to me on XBL after the match. I went to get my wireless mic and he exited before I got back and haven’t been able to get a word out of him since, even after leaving multiple messages, sending multiple match invites, and a pm here.

Last night I started trying to play with a pad (I didn’t feel like programming a Mad Catz TE S I have) and I am now having another issue. The game froze three times on me while trying to beat the regular ladder (arcade) mode right after I beat Shao Kahn, and randomly it would stop taking controller inputs period. This is using the black wireless pad that comes with a 360 S. I can only think it could be two things: either the game still has too many bugs, or the PDP stick messed something up in my 360.

One other thought - the first night I had it my wife wanted to see the story mode which I had already started. I couldn’t figure out how to start over from the beginning because unless I missed something NRS never thought of adding the option. I went into the memory options on the 360 and got a list of several MK files, as you get a bunch of stuff with the TE option, plus the online code, plus settings savings, plus the installed ISO, plus your game save. I deleted the game save and was able to start over in story mode. I wonder if NRS ever thought of that, and if that could be causing an issue (I wouldn’t think so, but the game does have some bugs as we already know.)

So here I sit waiting for my stick to return (next week I hope) but I felt like sharing my experience.

There is no 2 player tag team practice mode. Major flaw since this feature is what will ensure the game is played at tournaments in a lasting way imo.

My game has froze on me twice now, Liu kang vs. Shao kahn both in ladder & story mode. Do the following combo midscreen: standing 2,1,3 3,3 X-ray. Anyone elses game freeze from that? I’m on x360 with game installed.

Performing a lot of Ermac’s Plasma (QCB-2) can make the next few projectiles invisible , and that’s no fun :frowning: . So far I only encountered this on Shang Tsung’s Garden (Daytime) .

Also while landing or waking up , doing any normal that requires crouching may not come out at times and instead get a standing normal rather than a crouching normal .

Mission 33 is all kinds of screwed up for me.

The default control setup is:

[KK][BP][KK]
[FP][KK][BK]
[KK][FK][KK]

My control setup is:

[KK][BK][KK]
[BP][KK][FK]
[KK][FP][KK]

Now, on default the mission works as expected, hit the button that shows up, bam, checkmark. On my setup, at first I thought it was asking me to hit whichever of my buttons correspond to the default layout (B for FK which displays as A on screen), but it’s actually doing the complete reverse rotation of the face buttons, like so:

[KK][FP][KK]
[FK][KK][BP]
[KK][BK][KK]

So when the screen shows A(FK), I have to hit X, even though my mapped FK button is B.

NRS really needs to completely overhaul the button mapping and button display mechanics they have going in this game, because this will probably get confusing before long.

XBOX360 Mad Catz 4617 (Late Version) Incompatible?

Bug: Unable to jump straight up, or duck straight down.

My custom stick has this PCB inside. There are no technical issues with the PCB/Buttons/Stick/Wiring.

I’ve tried all game modes, and while I can’t remember if it worked at first when I got the game, it surely doesn’t and has not worked since I realized it last week. In training mode, it shows the inputs “:u:” and “:d:”, but the character does nothing, remains neutral. You can only jump-forward/backward ( :uf:, :ub: ) and to duck you have to press down-forward/backward ( :df:, :db: ).

I could have sworn it was working before hand though. My brother and I played many Vs. matches on release night, and I distinctly remember jumping :u: over his projectiles. Sadly, I have to jump towards his ice blasts, now. :frowning:

Been experiencing this one too on my brother’s SF4 TE Stick. I’m wondering if it has anything to do with my problem above.

I love the fact that it’s a quick button change system like MvC2 (re-release) as apposed to scrolling/changing each button individually (SSF4, MvC3). But, it bugs me too, that I can’t have 2 Blocks. If I can throw with 3+4 then it doesn’t need it’s own macro, and I can have a block aligned with both punches and kicks.

So the social network linking in this game is pretty messed up. It just sent to my Twitter that I go the Dim Mak! achievement, which I do not actually have.

Well that’s new. Also I didn’t even know that it had that feature in the first place.

It’s buried in the options and requires an account on their website to use. It’s kind of silly, but I figured it’d be kind of useful. Instead it’s reporting the wrong achievements to Twitter, and not even posting to my Facebook.

Is there a way to remap the buttons needed for the Test Your Might (Lt/Rt) into anything else?

Can’t strike since I have those buttons plugged up on my main stick. Really don’t want to have to put them back in just to play the damned mini-games?

I did look for a few minutes to see if I could remap, sorry for the n00bish question. Thanks to anyone who answers.

I’m pretty sure those are hard-mapped, although I’m also pretty sure you can just wait for the timer to run out like the original Test Your Might minigame.

Sigh. This might just get sold for L.A Noire credit at this point.

Thanks.

I can only play ranked? Each time I try to join a room it says “Mk9 servers down?” btw im on 360? What gives!

If you are on xbox and have installed the game, you will be susceptible to game freezes. Uninstall the game and run it from the cd and it should not freeze.

Test Your Might - Game Breaking Parry Glitch!!

I think the game actually is supposed to have a traditional record/playback feature in training mode, but for some reason it doesn’t work.

Record a character punching another character and play it back. Then play it back again, and mash on back/forward dash after you get hit. For some reason the dashes register (though not any other time). So obviously, the code is there to allow you to move around while something is being played back. No idea how something like that would make it through Q&A though.
