Anyone know how tight chris’ L grenade relaunch is? The only way I can do it is off a basic magic series with j.S being delayed as much as possible. But I know I saw bum do it after a jump gun M relaunch.
It’s somewhat tight off of a j.qcf M, but it’s easy once you learn the timing (obviously). You need to do the first air magic series quite fast, but not so fast that you can’t connect the j.qcf M in time, then after you do the second S wait till you’re at the apex of your jump then MMH, very slightly delayed S. Buffer the Landmine so it comes out as soon as you land, then cancel into Grenade Launcher as Chris finishes saying “suck” in “suck it”. If you did it too early, the first hit of Grenade Launcher will blow up the Landmine. If you did it too late, they’ll get up before it hits and if you cancelled the Landmine too early, the explosion won’t hit them. With a bit of practice you won’t need the sound cue.
You can even do this off of a Landmine relaunch combo, and still get a Flamethrower, S, S after the Grenade Launcher although you need to do the S, S really fast.
Actually my problem with the landmine L relaunch is exploding the mine using cr.L, either I’m too late at planting the mine or my cr.L is low.
I already have some Grenade Hyper setup with my Chris/Vergil/Strider team (search tanukik in YT) so this isn’t my main issue. But maybe my main problem is I’m too panicky at the j.qcf.M relaunce because j.qcf.M isnt HSD friendly (AFAIK). Thanks though.
You have plenty of time to hit a launcher or s.H, S off of a j.qcf M relaunch. You’ll pretty much always be able to get a relaunch from any combo starter, launch, magic series, land, relaunch.
For the Landmine relaunch, you just have to delay the S as much as possible in the air magic series so that you hit their feet while you’re falling below them. It might seem hard at first, but it’s really easy and is Chris’ optimal relaunch from an air combo in the corner.

fuck it. chris needs air magnum. that’s all he needs. yeah i understand its a team game, but i want air magnum. cables crouching fierce may be a more sensible alternative, but i want air magnum. i want air magnum.

the good thing about chris is that he doesn’t really require much modification beyond that one thing. he’s in a similar vein as wesker and magneto.
Does anyone have the factual frame data on going and rising from prone position? I know, or at least believe, that there’s a teeny bit of invincibility on rise from prone and perhaps on going into it.
Retnuh66, prone is 13 frames going into it. I gotta check what it is going out of it. You can throw Wolverine from his Berserker Slash when coming out of prone automatically.
Yeah, that was the concept that I was trying to work on against berserker slash. So far I’ve found that the only thing that wolvie can do move wise to not get hit by a cr L from Chris coming out of prone is to level 3. Anything else gets stuffed it seems. I’m also thinking crM also beats out most of his options, too. Better a clean hit than a grab to start a punish, I figure.
Too bad I can’t thing of any way to incorporate it into his footsie game against him.
Well just came back from our Xanadu monthly. ChrisD went 4-2 as I went 0-2 :(. Lost my 1st set 3-1 and 2nd set 3-2. Sucks. It was good seeing ChrisD again post surgery. He’s got dat healing factor lol.
congrats to senor taxi for taking 1st without going into losers in the latest TRB. his neutral game with chris backed up with jam is really worth watching.
one of chris’s biggest problems is if he kills in the middle of his supers he doesn’t have enough time to set anything up and he remedies it by dhcing into spencer and bringing chris back in everytime.
he also only has one incoming mixup with chris. call jam session,toss flame grenade, go for air throw. but it is so safe that there is almost no reason not to do it and chris is also left with a lot of room to back up.
his team is entirely planned to ocv with chris without having to use xfc at all.
