Girl fight an 1 on 1 3d indie fighter that has an all female cast. While at first this appears nothing new to to already established Dead or Alive series, however developers informs that player can customize not only the fighters attire (which DoA does as well) but one can also customize how their character plays with power ups. The game seem to be sporting a level up element where players earned points use to purchase stuff such as power ups or wardrobe additions. The developers kung fu factory made some fighter simulators in the past so their not completely foreign to fighting game concept though how well this game design is left to be seen.
Toyed around for a few minutes. Game feels kinda stiff, and I think they took a page out of NRS’s MK book, in that, while there are only 2 characters in the demo, they have the same stance it seems and even the same run and movement animation. The game tends to have a little freeze before some attacks hit (like a two hit string to an overhead kick, the overhead will have a freeze before hitting). It seems more distracting but I don’t know. Music sounds okay I guess?
Played the demo, kinda feels like those old 3D fighters on PS1. Animations are too fast. Combo strings are not too complicated, but tend to be similar at some point. It’s a decent first attempt at a fighting game.
I checked their website, they made that ninja turtles game for ipad my little cousin likes to play http://www.kungfufactory.com/?page_id=12
launchers were the downfall of the fighting genre. It misguided the genre into ridiculous directions of what a fighting game “should not” be.
Well not saying KFF’s Girl Fight is any example of a decent fighting game, but launchers really are an overrated feature that’s led the genre to more immature and one sided mechanics that cheapen fights further. but you know how the mainstream only cares about multi digit combo numbers and stringing as many attacks as they can, even if they have to take it into the air.
