Honestly, i am just going by the mantra of I don’t really know what I am going to like.
TWGOK(The world God Only Knows) is the definition of a show that i was supposed to hate, yet it is one of my favorites.
Executed well the movie could be cool. It could be good for different reasons than the original, as long as they create their own plot and characters instead of making it ghostbusters girls addition, it could be fine. Just look at it as a different movie and reserve judgement until at least the trailer.
Like I said clearly no one on SRK has seen Freaks and Geeks. I love how absolutely butt hurt all of you get over a reboot. Oh noes a reboot stomping all over my childhood if it sucks than that will means I’ll hate the original film too from then on!
Freaks and Geeks sucked then and it still sucks now. Wanna fight about it?
As far as the original Ghostbuster movies, they’re the only ones that’ll exist to me. This train wreck Ghostbusters that’s happening? That shit don’t exist to me. Did you like the Michael Bay Transformers movies?
(I approve of the thread title, especially after “Ho Ya Gonna Call” was added.)
This is…weird. I hadn’t even known there was a Ghostbusters sequel in the works, though I can’t say it’s surprising given that most of what Hollywood churns out nowadays is either (pointless) sequels or remakes or adaptations.
As for my thoughts on this, DoctaMario basically already eloquently summed up my thoughts: this could be good even though that’s (extremely) unlikely, especially since there are definitely women who are better suited to doing good comedy. Even if it is good, though, it’s already basically doomed to be inferior to both Ghostbusters movies that came before it, though I’d argue that would be the case even if you brought back the original cast after all this time. That’s why I was entirely fine with them essentially doing a movie in the form of that PS3 (?) Ghostbusters game and also doing the cartoon spin-offs and comics before that, even though I’ve never read the comics.
Shrug. As it is, this all-female cast just seems like poor (and yet invariably successful) attempt to garner attention without taking actual talent into account. Then again, I could well be wrong since I have no idea who the hell any of these people are aside from Melissa McCarthy, whose movies I’ve never watched for various reasons.
Dude, if Bill Murray dies this year, I’m totally blaming you.
As it is, I’m wondering if news of this is what pushed poor Mr. Ramis over death’s edge.
Even if it does, you already know that there will be a bunch of neo-feminists blaming the failure of the movie solely on misogyny.
Bob Saget and maybe John Stamos aside, I’d…actually be more than okay with this cast.
This is going to be the ghost buster’s version of third strike. General hate for unfamiliarity from the main stream audience, but after a couple of years it will be held as a retired treasure…
Ghostbusters is one of those franchises that shouldn’t need a reboot. This movie could have easily been a sequel. The Ghostbusters could have become a national public service and had these ladies be one of MANY Ghostbuster teams that now exist. They chose to fuck it instead. Like Kdash, wasn’t a fan of Freaks and Geeks.
I dont know who any of these actresses are, and I dont care about any of them. If this movie had actresses I knew like, Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron, michelle rodriguez, and halle berry I might have given a fuck
