Ghostbusters II Part 2 - The Sequel

Problem is that we are supposed to make decisions based about the quality of the movie and our likeliness to enjoy it based on the trailers.

Maybe the finished product will end up being a solid flick but there doesnt seem to be much evidence that it will.

Trailers are supposed to entice you to go watch the full thing. If it doesn’t do that for you, okay that’s cool. Not every movie will draw everyone to watch it. But there are people calling the film shit when they haven’t even seen it. I don’t get that mentality.

“Oh that thing I haven’t tried? Yeah, it’s shit. I don’t need to try it I already know it’s shit.”

Do you see the problem with that sort of thinking? Not only is it idiotic, but you will rob yourself of experiences simply because you already judged it beforehand.

the problem is that OG/hardcore fans will beat the shit out of this movie if it bombs [which is what apparently the direction it’s heading] and the franchise suffers for it.

also, melissa mccarthy not swearing and cussing enough in the trailers. imdb hasn’t rated it but most likely PG-13 due to said lack of cursing. lol

Set yourself on fire. You think it’ll be painful but you’ve never tried it so it may be fun.

you mean like this?

(I’m gone for half a week and people are still responding to Raz0r like he actually gives a damn beyond just amusing himself in his boredom. You guys really should know by now, especially you orochizoolander…)

Anyway, yes, the movie may be far more viable than it looks from the trailers, but that from what we’ve seen of it, it’s highly unlikely that’s the case and it will indeed be shit unfortunately. I mean, it’s not like any of us want it to be shit just to validate ourselves since most of the people in here rather like the Ghostbusters franchise as a whole.

Some movies you can legitimately just tell will be horrible without seeing the entire movie. I mean, was anyone actually surprised that Gods of Egypt was as horrible as it looked to be? That the M. Night Shyamalan version of The Last Airbender was abominable? That various video game-related movies or Hollywood adaptation of anime that have come out have mostly been atrocious even without Uwe Boll purposely fucking them up?

Additionally, some people can simply take issue with the people involved in this. Some people just simply don’t like Melissa McCarthy, which usually has nothing to do without “Oh my goddess! Misogynist!” and everything to with simply not finding her funny. The same goes for Leslie Jones and any of the other actresses or actors (or directors or writers) prominently involved. Hell, as far as the main actors in this, the only one who seems universally likable (and fuckable) is Chris Hemsworth, whom I personally normally don’t really care about either. If I was really going to see the movie solely to fap off to him–ugh–like jimmy1200 is, I would hope, kidding about doing for McCarthy and Jones, then even I still wouldn’t see in it theaters simply because I’m not Pee-wee Herman and have no desire to get arrested for an indecent exposure charge.

As it stands, there’s no reason to see this in theaters if you think it’s going to be shit, even out of curiosity; that’s part of the reason why such bad movies like this will doubtless continue to get made: people are dumb enough to go see them. Just like there’s no valid reason that you should not be allowed to at least attempt to dissuade people you know from seeing any movie you think will be shitty. [/intentional triple negative]

So just ignore this fetid pile of cinema scraps and him.

cups hands over mouth like megaphone

BECAUSE SHE HAS A VAGINA AND IT’S EASIER TO CALL A MAN MISOGYNIST THAN A WOMAN, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT DOESN’T FIT YOUR FORCED NARRATIVE.

goes back to speaking normally

So why did James Rolfe get so much shit for simply saying he is not interested in watching the reboot, but when Comicbookgirl who said the same thing and even straight up tells her viewers to not see it back in March no one said shit to her?

Just looking at the thumbnail I assume she’s the type of person the movie is trying to appeal to.

If the movie is supposed to be progressive why did they go from a positive black role model to a stereotype?

What is up with the character that is literally that unfunny fat chick no one wants to deal with? Is that progressive?

It’s kinda sad because with decent writers, good practical effects and better casting I think the other 2 girls + 2 better written and/or cast characters could have worked.

I’m not even some huge fan of the series, I’m as casual as it gets but I have 0 drive to see this movie.

That’s the only character Leslie Jones knows how to play. Blame the actress limited range.

Why do they always have their sceen shot have the worst of faces? That dopey mouth slightly agape? More likely why I wouldn’t click on it.

Razor has said a lot of dumb shit making him the white knight of this thread which I called him out on, but even I have to admit he has a point about how stupidly knee jerk reactionary a lot of you SRK’ers are. Comic book girl says in her video how sick of remakes she is and how this reboot represents people are finally fed up with them and are actually taking a stand against them, but nah fuck her actual words it’s easier to make assumptions by a fucking thumbnail pic of a video.

People make assumptions about literally everything though. That’s just how people are, unfortunately. No one should be surprised by that at all.

It’s so that you can imagine fucking their faces, @Infernoman. You know, to help foster that “close”, “connected” feeling that watching talking heads on Youtube supposedly gives you given how many of these people’s entitled fans seems to think they’re actually friends with them or that these people actually owe them something.

(Please note that any cries of “misogyny” for this would fall on deaf ears–stop being soundist, you fucks–and be irrelevant as they almost always are since I’m including the male reviews here too, especially since I’d totally face-fuck AVGN.)

I’ll be honest, I took advice similar to Raz0r for The Last Airbender…and never again.

leslie jones has been limited to snl. i dont remember her being in any movies…but on snl they got her in all sorts of skits that arent just stereotypes

Because she’s pretty cute, pulls off that look

And we can imagine fuckin her or what she would look like with our dicks in her mouth while wearing her glasses

Pussy wipped.

Trailers are like a sales pitch and if that pitch fails you are under no obligation to financially support a product. On that note movie trailers are often edited with the best scenes of a movie that are suppose to be the most alluring. If you didn’t like anything the trailers showed its very likely the rest of the film won’t surprise you with anything amazingly unexpected. Granted there are exceptions but would you really fault people who decided to skip out on the jem movie or pixels based off what the trailers showed. In the case of ghostbusters we have 2 trailers and a multitude of press telling us exactly what type of movie we can expect. If you have to shame people to see a movie or prompt this "well you haven’t seen it yet"logic that isn’t the fault of the unimpressed customer but instead the fault of the marketing team for failing to convince people to spend their money and time. If this movie is good then it will prove itself but so far the movie has shown this is unlikely to happen.

Lol nevermind

SNL is shit.
