I can’t sigh hard enough about this even if there’s some truth about this because you know that’s not what I’m talking about, just like you know that the majority of stereotypes are typically seen as offensive, tired, and unfunny by the people (read: mostly minorities) they depict. They can have their (hilarious) uses, but when minorities are typically only ever represented as said stereotype, it becomes both a self-fulfilling cycle and a limiting problem.
If that’s how she actually acts as a person, then that’s her. It still doesn’t mean that it was necessary for the character, especially since I don’t really care about her as a person for the most part here, but as an actor.
(Also, haha, if she’s better than a good portion of the cast of SNL, then Anubis Christ I am really glad I don’t watch SNL and never found it funny.)
The movie looks like most reboots out of Hollywood in the last decade. However since it has 4 lead female characters it will be protected from criticism since if you hate the movie you must hate women and all that.
Having watched TT:Go the entire way, season 2 onward get’s far more better and makes more good jokes.
Going back to this…Girls or not, it’s still going to be bad. The only recent things that have been good were the game (which I REALLY should finish) and Extreme Ghostbusters.
I know we all have seen this many times but c’mon! It was already written for them! A series that should have been bad was great and the still fits in with today’s PC crowd even. White guy w/disability, Hispanic, Female, Black. If they wanted an Asian, they could even change something within for that if they wanted. They’re college age which fits in by bringing in a cast of younger new stars. I could go on but oh man…this will kill any hopes of a series revival for future films.
The timing is off on some of their jokes. The other part is some of the lol random comedy they are using for some of it. Additionally from the trailer the acting feels awkward.
The effects are really cool and the characters seem like they’ll be awesome for little girls. If i had a daughter, i’d take her openning day. Personally i wont feel bad if i dont see it.
I think another off putting thing is how hard they are trying to get us to like them. The OG crew was lame as all fuck and nobody took them seriously. At least that was a part of their charm. Very much an unlikely hero scenario. This one feels like they are trying to get us to just like them because we are supposed to.
Hopefully its just a terrible trailer that doesnt represent the movie faithfully.
