Ghost of Tsushima - version 1.1 update (Legends, New Game+); 10/16/20

I be like that sometimes!

Act 3 spoilers

Standard cold region in open world bullshit!!

And oh there a Mythical Tale where it really plays into that theme.
I haven’t done it yet, but the payoff/completion reward, from what I seen on YT, is worth it!!

I thought this game made you feel like a badass, but then I just ran the mongols out of Ishikawa and everything you thought about feeling like a badass before what is unlocked towards the end of that mission is child’s play compared to how much of a badass the new thing you unlock makes you feel. Holy shit that is awesome.

Fuck I been playing this game for 4 hours, there a bit of a learning curve with the combat system, but this game is addictive. So far I would recommend

Just finished act 2.

Damn man why they gotta fuck with the feels like that.

Someone cutting some onions in my crib.

Speaking of feels. I finished Masako’s story

Summary

It’s crazy to think that Masako’s entire family got killed over petty jealousy from her older sister. Not her fault that being a badass won her the heart of a samurai. This was the one time I actually wanted her lose control of her emotions and kill somebody.

I’ve been rocking the Kensei since yesterday when I got the shit. My favorite in the game so far, and that’s out of Broken Armor, Clan Armor, Ronin, Tadayori, Gosaku, Sakai, and Travel Attire.

The perks are great, but it looks fucking sick, especially leveled up and with the black dye. I wish it also had stealth perks to go along with the Ghost weapon damage, but I can use some charms with it to make it better suited for when I go assassin mode.

I’m in Act 2 now, but I’ve only really done the Sakai Armor mission, and the two Mystic Tales for the Gosaku and Kensei armor sets. Gonna jump back in and start progressing more of the Tales after I finish this cigar.

What have been some of y’all’s favorite armor and charm combos? I pretty much have Inari’s charm that doubles supplies, and the one that makes perfect parries easier to execute.

I pretty much rocked travelers attire up until the latter part of act 3.

Im basic as fuck on first runs thru with anything slightly rpg-ish.

I ran the charm that gave extra supplies and there was one that made perfect dodges and parrys slightly easier- allegedly- for my first two slots then i had all melee damage

I really want a new game plus mode tho so i can play with all my stuff more…

Jesus I’m in act 3 and don’t have that charm that makes parrying easier and am wondering why the fuck some of these duels I have to do like 5+ times before I can beat em.

I am rocking the Sakai armor most of the time but switched to one you don’t have yet (due to where you are at act wise) but may switch back to Sakai because it looks badass and I have it upgraded all the way so it’s benefits are good.

I think Kojiro was the toughest duel I have had thus far by far. A lot of it had to do with how dark it was in the damn duel and it was hard to see.

I also don’t have the double supply charm which sounds pretty fucking money. I did sell a bunch of linens though because I had 195 of those and they are fucking valuable. I am sitting on like 2k supplies right now cause I haven’t used em yet.

I use Sakai armor with the monkey mask with the Inari charm that doubles item drops and health recovery when not in combat. After maxing out all the equipment I traded Inari for the charm for easy parries.

I also finished the game. Man, the ending is very emotional.

Have you done any of the shrines? That’s how I remember getting them.

Yeah I’ve done quite a few of those where you feel like Jin is all of a sudden Nathan Drake.

Same here, man. Took me a few tries. Hence why I shit on his head after I beat him.

And yeah, the increase supplies charm is incredibly helpful for leveling gear up. I believe it’s south of Archers Rise, in the southern portion of the first island. North of the Azamo Bay.

Yeah, the increased supplies charm (Charm of Inari) should be the first thing you go for once you’re able to free-roam. I’m even gonna say there’s no shame in looking up where it is as soon as you can, because getting materials is a serious grind, especially if you want to upgrade everything in the game.

Time to fuck up some Mongols. Based on comments from the thread I’m gonna jump right into hard mode from the start.

Yeah I’ll google it. I definitely am not going to upgrade everything, only the stuff I’m using.

Like I don’t use the wind chime at all. I didn’t even know I had those for a long time. I kept seeing them to collect but had no clue wtf they were for. I won’t upgrade that or any of the armors that I’m not using.

I would say go medium first, like Skyrim you can adjust the difficulty in the game by going into settings.
If the combat too easy you can crank it up. But that’s my opinion. But remember you can always readjust the difficulty level.

Lethal I feel is a difficulty separate from hard as yes you can kill anything in almost 1 hit, but so can your enemies. It’s the same buff applied evenly to EVERYONE.

I find there a slight learning curve in the combat, and I died alot . But once you get the hang of combat, its actually one of the most intuitive combat mechanics I ever seen in a Open world game.
Everything that a promp matches exactly that that button does elsewhere. And everything feels natural and intuitive. If there any QTE events, I did not notice any. Okay maybe when you are offering a challenge to a standoff is QTE like, but that is for the most part it.

And at no time are you required to pause the game to swap gear or change up your combat.

This game is now the new High bar on how open world combat should be handled.

Then if its too hard ill just lower it. I ran through Sekiro again last month so I’m pretty sure I can handle this.

Yea I’ll save Leathal for my second run. I always save the hardest diff setting for the second run unless Hard is the hardest setting. It’s not here thankfully.

I’m gonna have to play before I comment on yoyr last statement.
