P.S. Thanks for the encouragement guys. Really appreciate it. But we haven’t left yet :D. But of course, we’re also glad that ya’ll are wishing us luck. GO GO, last day is today, we leave tommorow at 8:40am. Andrei (with/without the R6) LOL, you getting a new one at least?? Nice to see you still check this boards (at least once every 4 months LOL). Yeah yo, good luck you guys. Layeth the Smacketh down on Guilty Gear!!! I pretty much can not make it cuz I’m too lazy to drive. Plus I’m not motivated in Soul Calibur 2 anymore… but my motivation will probably return in Tekken 5!!!

Looks okay to me so far. In my opinion JC got the worst draw landing combofiend in his pool. I don’t think Testament is very effective against Bridget.

Campbell has Martin Phan in his pool. For the life of me, I know I’ve heard that name, I’m just not sure which Texas player he is. If it’s Genius, then Campbell has a chance due to my belief that Axl counters Dizzy.

Ken I. has a good Testament, but nothing I don’t think Paul can handle. Still, Potemkin is not what a Slayer player wants to go up against…

The rest I don’t think I know.

If anyone reads this, go over and see who Chikyuu plays in GGXX. He’s Tamoo Taguchi. My guess is that he plays Zappa.

Yeah, unfortunately they haven’t been updating those brackets. And it looks like our guys haven’t been able to get online.

TZ posted the results of the ttt and t4 brackets. Avarus didn’t make it out of his bracket in either game.

Good to hear you guys are having fun and doing well at evo. Nice to know Muffin had a safe trip as well. I just got back from the Bahamas…IT ROCKED!!! The only thing that was a drag was that there was to many old people and little kids, lol. Hope you all continue to do well, and I want to see some crazy footage when everyone returns to Reno.

Tekken 5 arcade cabinets will be sent out to arcades in mid-September. Then the board will be sent out in Oct/Nov. If you dont see a solo cabinet in your arcade by the end of September, you need to ask your arcade if theyre getting it. It seems as though just about any arcade that will be getting the game will have the cabinet before the board.

You access the card system via the main screen. You cant customize your character before a 2-player game. There will be around 30 ranks in the game for custom characters. The first few ranks will be obtained just by playing the game in VS or 1-player mode. After the first few, you can only move up in rank by beating three players of equal or higher rank. If you beat someone below your rank, your win percentage will go up, but your rank will not. There will also be special ranks for the national tournament winner, and possibly for the regional winners as well. Namco is also considering ranks for the local qualifying winners.

Each card will hold one character and probably run about $5 although thats up to the arcade operator. Namco will not ship the game without the card system, but you can buy the board by itself. No pricing is available yet. You can backup a card on another card, but if you lose your card, theres no way to retrieve your data.

You can customize your characters head, face, upper body, and lower body. In addition, there will be three or more different color customization areas on each character. Namco is planning on offering a large number of colors, so its highly unlikely well see multiple characters with the exact same customization. Also, while most items will be available all the time, certain items will only be available after you reach a certain ranking. Youll earn points via playing the single and VS game modes, but youll get a lot more points from VS than from single player mode.

There will be a ghost system on the US version, but it will not use All.Net. Instead, it will only go by your local arcade. So you can play against ghosts of other players in your area that have used the same machine.

$5 for a card kinda sucks. Prob won’t get one for every char I play at that price.

Wow, the ranking card system is very interesting. The only way to move up is to beat people on equal level or better than you. Though it’s kinda of a drag that’s it’s $5. I was hoping it be like a $1.

Good job for so many people qualifying! For those not at EVO, the latest story is, sadly, everyone got eliminated first round.

In other news, -ruin is in top 8 for GGXX and I heard that Diago got eliminated in CvS2 by Eddie Lee. And yes, I heard that T5 is dope…a perfect mix between VF4 and Tekken 4 is what I heard.

I wonder how Rob did in ST qualifying bracket?

I’m happy that Tekken 5 sounds good, I am definitly looking forward to a new game.
