I don’t know if an rc is worth 45% on Chipp just because it’s Chipp. Baiken needs her tension a lot imo. Her guard cancel frc and fb really good and can lead to a combo.
i was thinking soem1 would say that.
It’s just rare you find a 45% combo with Chipp that:
1.) Doesn’t get scaled by j.5P, or j.5K
2.) Doesn’t have recovery opportunities (I practiced it on the quickest recovery frame and you cannot recover during the combo until the final move has hit)
Which I think is a big deal since all of Chipp’s higher damage tensionless combos often have a window for recovery.
What is said combo? I can judge it from there. Also, if u ain’t doing uppercut to ji teleport air combos, u ain’t cool lol.
kinda scrubby lookin but:
5S, 5H xx BB (RC b4 he leaves the ground) run forward a bit, j.5K (one hit), 5S djc 5P, 5S tjc 5S, 5H (one hit) BB.
If you run forward too far it’s useless.
Hmmm… interesting. Yeah I just learned that BB had an FRC point earlier today. I just thought I’d try it and see what would happen and I nailed on my first try. My Chipp is self-taught (no forums or anything) so I’m proud of myself for that. Tk 236+p FRC’s are so fun. Ending teleport combos with that into another air 236+p bring people back down pretty well. You could go crazy and FRC the second one to set up a tech grab.
So is mine, mainly because I’m ignorant when it comes to chars I lke playing.
the FRC frame is easy to nail, but I find it to be hella late, almost any1 can recover to avoid the follow-up.
Plus, I have the tendency to not use a combo if the enemy can recover (don’t know if that’s a good or a bad thing)
I can’t seem to get down any FRC AB combos.
They prolly do equally as much damage for less
EDIT: he does too many FRC’s but a few combos in this cmv do good damage

Dude stole my Maximum Spider combo.
Does anybody new to Zappa find the info at Dustloop basic enough to help. Anything you want to see more of?
Needs moar mamamamamama.
Really useful; the new “love thread” helped alot with him.maybe tutorial vids would help some. …
It doesn’t explain her moves. It talks about frcing CL and a bunch of frame data. The thread is all over the place. Not beginner-friendly even in the slightest. What in the heavens is going on over there?
The I-no combo guide (I think it’s called) has basic non hcl frc combos
I agree, it is really spread out around their but all I would say is watch all the match/tutorial vids you can and play around with her. Too many people read and talk alot about the game but never put time into just playing. Cause if you think about it, it doesn’t make sense to just x-copy everything that’s talked about but never sit down and mess around with a character and find out shit on your own (not referring to you btw, in general).
^ truth.
“knowledge” is useless without understanding and application.
I don’t really get some of the information you’re looking for. Like you’re talking about lack of basic information being a reason you’re staying away from Bridget, but the guide has a writeup on all of the important normals (this is really the biggest difference between the old guide and the rewrite I’m working on, which has explanations for even the peripheral moves and tactics… which I honestly feel is excessive and just confusing for people who are starting the character, but if current guides are any indication it’s what people want to see) and the basic four-hit air combo. I know I’ve hated on my own guide but the actual reason is because there’s only basic information – the four-hit air combo, frame traps off of 2P, flowcharts on block involving kickstart, yo-yo set and jump cancel, etc.
I almost wonder if the characters are less complicated than you think or something. There’s only so much that can be said, especially about characters like Bridget and I-no who have very simple mixups and have to be good at using their knowledge of the opponent’s abilities and reacting to different spacing to earn opportunities to apply them (in ways that might look extremely complex at times, but they’re not). That’s not usually something that can be put into words.
You most likely don’t not know, but i’ve been playing hardcore since streetfighter 2: world warriors. When I practice I NEED to know everything my character/s are capable of when it comes to basics and specials. like how does a player learn 3rd strike Ryu if he doesn’t know what all his basics are used for. I press neutral forward kick for anti-air, but it’s not the right move for that situation. I want to know what will be used for anti-air. I want to know about moves even if they aren’t very good. At least so I can understand WHY. Check the versus books alpha 2 guide out and you’ll see they don’t just talk about important basics/specials. Everything is explained. Some people may want to use a character in a different way than you or someone else, but can’t because he’s being told to only focus on “these moves”. No streetfighter guide does that.
dude just sit in training mode and fuck around, use what works. Play people, see what works…rinse wash repeat. Foo’s be wantin shit handed to them…damn
It’s not about wanting to be spoonfed. It’s about just getting started. Which is impossible when when people give half-baked info. Have you seen Moroha’s A.B.A. guide? It’s perfect and exactly what a person needs to start with the character.
^Agreed.
GG is the worst game to start playing as a noob. There’s no good “beginner” information anywhere. Yeah there are descriptions of mechanics and stuff, but character basics? No where to be found.
Who knew it could be so hard to find good info on a character’s normals and specials? Only “Advanced 3xFRC corner loop links that work on 2 characters off of wall stick if you have 1 frame timing” shit…
*ObZ
i wouldnt say theres NO good beginner guide
I think the problem is that the competitive scene of this game took off when “X” was released. So a lot of people have been playing for years and things like JI, fuzzy guard, etc. are like common knowledge to alot of players. There also was another forum that everyone hung out on before Dustloop, so I’m sure a lot of info was passed along there and not transferred. It sucks because newre players have to try and play catch-up, but they don’t have much to rely on in terms of comprehensive guides/videos.
