GGXX:Accent Core Thread! [AMERICAN PS2 RELEASE, GO GO GO!]

Millia vs. Slayer is hard, but it’s manageable. The most important thing to keep in mind when you’re fighting a competent Slayer is to tighten up your game. That means cutting down on the random IAD spazzing, sticking out random attacks, and trying to rush that shit down blindly like a bat flying out of hell. If anything, I find more success against Slayer if you play his game and react accordingly, because you’re trying to make Slayer work for his damage. If you’re running around spazzing mindlessly, it just makes Slayer’s life easier since all he needs is a random hit, BBU, or a CH DoT and you’ve already lost the round. Like all disadvantaged matchups, there’s no easy win button here for Millia unless your opponent doesn’t know how to fight a safe Millia, and that’s the kind of Millia you’ll likely need to have when you’re facing against Slayer. Simply put, don’t do anything blindly that puts you in a position of danger; if anything, make sure you set up whatever you were doing correctly (i.e. using Silent Force to cover your IAD’s, only using Discs when it’s safe to do so, etc.). Even the most useful option can still be beaten, but it’s not gonna get beaten 100% of the time if you play it right.

Thanks for that nugget of knowledge. I do just throw stuff out sometimes and get wakeup thrown a lot when trying fb disc stuff too close.

who’d you play as? yeah, that was my first gg tourny and i scrubbed out. blah blah excuses excuses…

what easier combos?
care to explain in detail?

Weeaboo = wapanese. Basically someone not Japanese (particularly white fat fuck American otaku) trying to be Japanese. The joke was that you’re actually Japanese. DID YOU SEE WHAT I DID THERE?! :lovin:

2H to BBU to j2k loops.
SSS pile bunker.
CH mappa into BBU.
Basically learn how his air combos work, since that is probably his easiest damage. With that, you can AA with P or 2S, land a random CH with 2H, or punish with a BBU and link those into at least 30% and a knockdown.

The harder stuff is when you have more links in your combo-- something like 6k 2k 2H BBU, or the all-purpose links of kkk or 2k into kkk. Against good players, they aren’t going to leave easily explotable openings, so instead of not worrying because you can always land a BBU for 50-60%, you’ll need to rely on strings that start with 2K, 6K, standing K, and etc.

The most difficult part of playing Slayer is practicing so that you are consistent with your damage. Being able to land an important combo only 50% of the time just ain’t gonna cut it, so its training mode forever until those links become automatic.

Slayer’s damage output also gives him a huge advantage for newbs. And yes, his combos are easy, even some of his link combos are easy-ish too. And his overall style of play is newb-friendly as well.

plus slayer is gay

Truth. Sucking the blood out of his wife every match is just an elaborate cover-up

What are some good basic combos for Jam? This is my first Guilty Gear since GGX…yeah. I am finding a lot of stuff didn’t translate too well. For example, I can’t seem to find a combo that hits crouching opponents. Also, she is obviously a rushdown character, but I am just not able to visualize how to go about it. Seems like she would get kept out by characters with much longer reaches or projectiles. Yes, I am a GGXX scrub. I tried looking on Dustloop, but most of that stuff just flew over my head. For example, what is the point of tiger kneeing her qcf+K? Says that it comes out faster, but if i get them in a P+K+2H, the move never misses. I guess I am just missing a lot of tidbits that have been building up since the previous iterations of GGXX.

Thanks

Don’t let the Slayer hater comments fool you, or his easy beginning learning curve. He’s tough to effectively use against people who know what they’re doing.

But if you’re feeling him/having fun with him, stick with em.

Annnd for all the Slayer haters you encounter, remember the wise words of the young star Dizzee Rascal. “Stand tall even when they’re hating and scheming, watch your money rise, right to the ceiling.” :wgrin:

Haha, don’t worry, I know how it is. I play Ken in tournaments for 3S, so I get my fair share of easy-mode/top-tier hate.

slayer is tuff. cheetos for life kids

u wish:arazz::looney:

Will this game be hard to find in about a month or so?I was planing on buying it but bills hit a nigga hard.

Slayer and I went to the carnival together.

I won’t lie, we had a lot of fun and exchange of pants.

So yeah hes gay.

I’m gay for Slayer.

Just so you guys know, all of the male cast = raging faggots. This has been understood since XX.

the weird thing is… to me, venom (who is supposed to be THE gay guy) seems a lot less gay compared to sol.

sol just seems to be a grand representation of latent homosexuality. i guess ishiwatari’s true nature spilled out.

how the fuck does orka not know what a weeaboo is.

stop hating on my student in Guilty Gear. Arsenal is just starting! I seriously dare you to go out and try to teach someone whos never played GG before I-No or something like that.

If anything to be slayer at a higher level you have to have immensely good defense since he no longer gets 9032 frames of invulnerability on his backdash cancel. Sure you can just mash BBU as defense, but thats probably the dumbest thing in the world once someone is smart.

You must also be good at “O” as Slayer has no fireball or way to put shit on the screen or get in someone’s face instantly. You see, if Slayer had a gun, he’d be better than Eddie. If slayer had flying, Sentinel would pretty much sign up to become a vampire.
