Excellent choice.

Hit confirm into half life off of everything.

Run around and never die, nothing he does is ever a serious enough risk to get him killed unless you have no life left, which in that case do DoT (632146S) and come back.

Constantly prime super motion, tap S if you see them twitch.

He gets frames off of everything, so he’s safe after every attack he has on block except K Mappa (has to be IB’d for anything really guaranteed against most characters, and he’s usually punished by a knockdown…unless it’s Pochop), BBU, the 236236H Super, and DoT if near the corner.

People will run away from you all day to avoid getting put into your footsie range. Because of the dominance he has on the ground within a certain range, and his speed within that distance, you can literally take risks all day advancing and not suffer any real consequences for it. He has a 1/1 counter for almost everything in the game, and his damage output is preposterous, so it’s no exaggeration to say ā€œhit your combos and play a strong yomi gameā€ and you’ll only have to make one or two openings a round, or match, to get the W.

Repeated BDC P Mappa as annoyance poke, on CH combos into BBU with no effort.

Max range K Mappa to get in, on CH also combos to BBU but is harder than P Mappa CH.

5K, 5H, 2H, 6H, j.H, j.K, 6P, 2S, 2D, close S. (Toy around with 5K, 5H, j.K, j.H, and 2H/P Mappa/K Mappa in IAD sequences for excellent guard guage build, tension drain if they FD, and pressure in general).

2H goes over lows, on CH = 60% or more

2D, spaced properly and use at the right time as a meaty, gives mad frames and gives you a jump-stop trap if you tap 5P, so they have to sit there.

BBU through predictable frame-traps from characters like Baiken, Order-Sol, Millia, Chipp, Johnny, Testament, Bridget, I-no, Ky, Dizzy, and Faust.

Abusing 6K in block-strings will get you many free ones because of people trying to swing after it, or because they’re ducking.

Slayer is best played as a defensive yomi death machine, but poking and advancing with him gets a lot of characters to swing wildly and get themselves killed, making it much easier to force a reaction out of them. Simultaneously, if he gets in, many characters just lose for free (Testament, Eddie in particular).

Kugler will know a lot more about this, but I thought I’d chime in.

Gotta get back into GG now…(haven’t played much since XX) so now I want to relearn Chipp and Sol…but moreso on Chipp. (yes I’m too lazy to search thread for info)

Thanks a lot for the response. That’s one of the things I always did in XX with Slayer. That super is too good when you’re in some scary situations and is pretty instant on startup.

I’ve noticed that when you end a Slayer air combo with HS and then connect 5HS, it makes the character bounce. Is this standard against EVERYONE or is it character specific?

according to gg community… sol + chipp = negro license

It works on everyone, and it’s actually pretty universal if you end your aircombo with a j.K, as it gives you more time to land and do 5H.

Try this combo out on Jam (crouching):

6K->5K->6P, close S, JC j.K->j.2K, wait j.K, land, 5H xx 214P,P (Pilebunker).

other then that, i see why you like this character. She is really fun to play, and her combos are like watching porn, its just that good.

For Chipp stuff, find Sumitto vids. There’s some on gamechariot where he rapes Kaqn a couple of times with Chipp in a set they had against each other.

those two statements aren’t correlated though. but yeah looking back it was definetly #R where he was at his worst imo.

oh and baikens h counter isnt THAT bad, there are ways to beat it. potemkin can bait that shit clean for 50% of her health, i’m sure others have ways of doing it as well. i just got creative whenever the baiken i played (therapist) did that shit whenever.

wait, that doesnt make sense since 6FRC6 would just do her ground(air) dash and not her air dash so it is standing throw, FRC, IAD then combo, right?
