Order-Sol’s Charge Cancel is weak sauce.
looooooooooooooooooooooool sure dude
LOL thanks for all the replies its just that from what I have read johnny was just being shit on too much to the point I started letting that shit give me second thoughts. I wasnt really going to drop johnny anyway just wanted to get some more feed back on him and now im convinced to stick with him.
A.B.A vs Dizzy. How the fuck does ABA do anything?
She uses her way better normals and her crazy frame traps (which Dizzy has no tensionless answers for) which feed into huge damage really fairly easily?
hit dizzy once.
Guess I need to do some more research or just play better. I get zoned out by Dizzy all day long and I can’t get in to do a damn thing
man I totally gave up on ABA, she’s a dope character just not my style, figure I’ll just keep my concentration on AXL, even though his top-tier match-ups are maddening.
Heres some cool things I picked up(just got the game)
5s(ji) 6hs RC (airdash)66 j.k,j.D 5.k,5p 2s 623hs
2reps of bomber loop in corner(after the last 623hs) resne frc 214s land throw unblockable as they rise from the ground slide(allows unblockable as a wake up cause they aint grounded)
2HS as meaty is awsome
combo into sweep 63214hs frc j.k(you bounce and get a perfect timed air attack) and you can end any air attack into bomber if in corner if they dont expect it.
ending combos in 623hs is good especially throw combos, you can do air dash 63214s cross up shinanigans frc it into big damage, or sol-like airdash close to ground/land low attack mix-up cause the 623hs lands them really close to you.
ill add more as I find shit.
yes axl has some of the worst top tier matches except oh wait hes even with eddie and has an advantage over testament and goes even with potemkin
he fares pretty well against the top 4. his slayer matchup is what, 4.5 to 5.5?
axl bites it to A and B tier characters worse than any other mid tier though i guess.
I wanna try to pick up Jam, anything I need to know?
EDIT: Are charges essential to her play?
It’s a tough matchup, it’s actually 50/50 when I play against East Coast Krang. It’s just whoever gets their thing going. If Dizzy gets a knockdown, she gets to apply her pressure game, which can be a nightmare to deal with, and if played right, is also wakeup Danzai AND wakeup EX Danzai safe. Not to mention, that this pressure game can absolutely lead into another knockdown, and Dizzy’s throw game is also pretty scary. If you’re in normal mode, you don’t have many options of dealing with it, and if you’re in Moroha mode, two more mistakes and you’re eating a 6H combo for your life. However, if ABA gets 1.5 hits, she does wins the match, and after that first hit, Dizzy is stuck in a shitty position with no reversal options outside of super.
I like to think it’s slightly in Dizzy’s favor, since ABA is (obviously) forced to start off the round in normal mode, giving Dizzy an obvious advatage to take control at the start with an early knockdown, but hey, I play ABA, so I -might- be biased ;p. Don’t let ABA haters make you think otherwise though, it’s only an easy fight if the Dizzy is bad. You DO only need to get 1.5 hits - but actually getting there can be an uphill battle, though nowhere as nightmarish as vs Baiken. When you’re in Dizzy’s pressure, you HAVE to sit there and block correctly, and hope to poke her out at a correct point, and gatling into a bloodpack or keygrab.
If you wanna win faster, yes.
CD and Henaki, god damn, really, how constructive is that? How hard is it to just politely correct people rather than give them flippant BS over inconsequential stuff like ABA vs. Dizzy and Axl vs. top tier? GG is on the chopping block for Evo and we’ve got notable members of the community right here on SRK getting snippy with people who just want to learn about the game. Is that necessary?
well you guys can stick to your number chart as much as you want, but I’ve been playin aXL since xx, and just try playing vs Pot/SL/baiken/jam/eddie and tell me the matches are anywhere near even. The truth is Lots of top tiers are easy to get good quick making it really hard, then the bad matches like chipp jam millia and venom are pretty bad in my opinion so that an OK player can give you trouble. Like I said Im going from praxical knowledge not some chart.
I think Axl has a good chance against the top tiers, personally.
Vs. Eddie, you can poke out Eddie Shadow easier, prevent fly-spam. j.S > drills, etc.
Vs. Slayer, you can definitely harass him with P, 6K, and prevent movement really well. Keeping Slayer out = much easier time. Plus uppercut trades with his 6K, giving you a free air combo.
Vs. Jam, … not sure.
Vs. Potemkin, hell yes this is in your favor.
eddie is debatable
but vs jam = horrible, always has, any fast character can just run into range and beat you easily, see chipp and millia - his worst matches
Slayer - 2hs = game over, seriouslt once hes in which is not hard, you have to sit there, get lucky and trade damage is huge in his favor. j.HS is gdlk vs axl
Pot has notoriously been even, ;lately ive put in Pot’s favor cause he take risks till he gets a knockdown, while the hits you land aren’t gonna be that damaging. It’s like vega vs blanka take that match how you want.
Baiken - poke into counter helps but c’mon this match is dumb
testemant is wierd, they say its axel favorable, but teste has so many options of offense and the beasts scare you into jumping too much.
ABA - I have no idea, prolly in aba favor…
eddie is even
pot is even
slayer probably not even
baiken, dunno
jam yeah probably in her favor
imo axl vs pot is even because axl has nothing around meaty slidehead, he has no reversals that arent horrible, he has nothing that trades etc, and the more you backdash the worse it gets. honestly if you are cornered vs pot even full screen a single gain of momentum from pot will pretty much end the match. its a very BORING match but like every match potemkin has once he gains momentum its over esp since imo, axl has some of the worst defensive options vs pressure without a blind guess that doesnt counter throws.
and i was only condescending because his post was kind of totally wrong in a lot of respects. he dies to high/mid tiers pretty hard but hes got some of the best top tier matchups in the game, jam is the only character i think that debatably is s tier that counters him.
i feel this way when playing any character against jam D:
except eddy
If someone asks something specific like “I don’t know how to deal with move x, what does my character do about it?” then it’s very possible to say “well move x has this weakness but your character has to do move y to exploit that.” Specific questions get specific, productive answers.
But if someone asks any variation of “omg I can’t do anything how do I do anything” then well… how do you answer that? Honestly, “mash harder” or “press buttons” is a legitimate response to “how do I do anything?” and I think my response was a step above that, at the very least.
And really… once ABA gets into Moroha mode, her normals cream Dizzy’s unless Dizzy has fish cover or frame advantage, and Dizzy simply doesn’t have any answers to ABA frame traps until she gets meter (then she gets risky options that are just as likely to get her killed anyway). Moroha said that in about as many words, with an extra paragraph or so devoted to how Dizzy beats ABA, which certainly wasn’t the question on hand… and his post was no more specific than mine in terms of how ABA actually goes about beating Dizzy. Does adding more paragraphs make a better answer?
(I think not)
the_judge:
You never really “need” them, but having one in stock is helpful in a lot of fights. Some matchups you might want to just use your knockdowns to get in and set up better mixups, since momentum matters more than having a damage option stocked.
So no, you don’t really “need” charges, but they help to varying degrees based on how likely you are to actually land a charged kick and how easy it is for you to get a charge.
RE: A.B.A vs Dizzy-
Maybe straight jump up and do a keygrab if you anticipate an air dash? I think that may work. Lemme look at some vids.
