Umm, I dunno if anyone here cares, but most of the GG1 cast and Jam and Dizzy have been made for MUGEN. Most of the GG1 chars kinda suck, but the Sol, Chipp, and Baiken conversions kick ass! Jam and Dizzy are a little pixelated and don’t have all of their moves, but they are still worthy additions to your select screen. Chipp and Baiken can be found at www.mgbr.net , just look for “Mugen Love” on the sidebar.
Man, I should make a GGX Sol for Mugen…
Shame I have no time for it, though.
ggx for the dreamcast does not use adx format for its music. regular good ol’ cdda tracks (.wav) are all you need. check out echelon’s selfboot kit if you’re not sure how to proceed from there.
good luck.
Sol is top of the Upper Mid-tier.
Ky is the top of the Bottom tier.
Questions?
Actually, depending on where you place Jam, she’s either the top of the upper-mid tier or the bottom of the top tier. In either case, she’s a bit better than Sol.
Nnnnah, I think he edges her out.
You just haven’t seen a good Sol FDC yet. ; )
hah. sounds like you haven’t seen a good FCD Jam yet
now thats scary
You know I have, Zazz. ; )
I went to Otakon, remember?
Sean, I practice with Sol everyday. I FCD with him on a pretty consistent basis. But nothing he has can compare to the stupidity of her infinite. She’s faster and has better mixup than he does, and her damage potential is damn high, along with her priority. She can pressure better, as far as I can tell, so I really don’t see what makes Sol better.
He has range, and isn’t totally predictable.
I dunno, his style seems much more straightforward. She seems less predictable to me, she’s got better overheads IMO. The difference between their predictability isn’t too huge, and his range is better, but she can get in on people more easily.
They’re fairly even, but I say Sol gets the narrow win because of his command grab and VV.
Eh. Command grab is nice, and Volcanic Viper has got to be one of the best special moves in his arsenal, but I’m not sure that’s enough to edge him over what is basically eternal lockdown from FCD infinite.
But blocking while FDing pushes her back, like anyone else. Plus, the FCD is difficult to do consistently. I’ve only seen it looped as much as 4 times.
Practice makes perfect, that’s about all I can say to that. I’ve personally been able to loop it about 7 or 8 times, but that was in training mode, so it doesn’t really count for a whole lot. FD does push back, but she can stay in range for a decent amount of time, and her dash is really quick.
You’d be surprised how much priority Sol’s standing kick has.
Kills dashes good. And I mean GUDT.
both are damn good
From my experiance, Sol and Jam are pretty equal. They both have big damage combos. That Jam infinite FCD is a bitch to put it lightly. She definately has the edge in that department. Not to metion being able to chain all 3 of her special kicks in the corner. Chaining those 3 kicks after she charges up your block meter from blocking a FCD is 1/2+ for sure and very easy to do. Sol on the other hand does have some good techniques that Jam doesn’t to subtract big damage. A counterhit with a gunflame, low HS, etc. can lead into a 1/3 life combo everytime. The same goes for the command throw into a big air juggle. If a good Sol player can FCD well, he can be pretty tricky. Especially mixing in the command throw out of a FCD’ed low HS. They both have real good tools in different situations so it’s hard to tell who is better. I would say whoever initiates the pressure first, has the upperhand. Sol’s super fireball super IMO is way better than any of Jam’s super. Big priority and very easily comboable. Actually if you go by the official Arcadia ranking. Sol and Jam are a dead tie for 4th place. Of course we all know how those ranking systems can be. I guess it all comes down to a players style.
Arcadia also says that Jam has the advantage in a Jam/Sol fight, so going by those rankings, she’s a tad better. I don’t really care much either way.
oh
I didn’t know who had the advantage against character vs. character. I believe it though. She is a really hard match for me when I use Sol. It seems like I have a harder time beating a Jam with Sol than I beating Sol with Jam. I couldn’t decide either way since I was basing the fight with my experiance only. She is definately a pain in the ass to fight, that’s for sure.
