I swear if i see merkuis back on the thread ima gonna laugh my ass of. But yeah there is going to be a lot of new kids once they see vids of Vega’s “new viability” as a tourney character they’ll flock like seagulls. 
Dont hate on the King. He is such a great character. He is not as easy to use as people think. His problem is TU xx FADC xx F.RH - Ultra. And with Kara TU, that makes shit intense. All of his moves are space dependent. Learning how to zone, learning how to play footsies using TU, TK, and Kara moves its hard man. You just hate him because of his 500+ Ultra. admit it.
But, they did put the motherfucking nerf hammer on Sagat. :sad:
I’ll still and forever main Vega, but I use Sagat because he teaches you things about Vega, and because well in my CvsSNK days that was my team.
As for the Vega thing, the problem is that they wont be able to contribute much to his development until, they learn how to play him. I mean yeah there are going to be those exceptions, and kids with legit theory’s who lack any fundamentals, but as much as I would love to see development of his corner pressure game with his new tools, I think most of his development as a character is going to be on how to use his new Ultra and RCF for a defensive lock down game, and how his new tools affect the match up charts.
The funny thing is that a lot of us still dont know who, or what Vega is IMO(I know I dont). They are different styles to use, but I still think Vega’s development as a character for SF 4 on what he is, is not complete because only a few people use him seriously and look for ways to make things work instead of conforming with what they have. He is by far the most underrated character in the game, because no “real” progress was made with him for a few months. All it was, was refinement of what we knew and how to use it to our advantage.
In retrospect that’s not that bad. It just means that we know more about our character’s core strengths and weaknesses than other player character’s. Which means Vega will progress the fastest in SSF 4 because we can clearly cut the bull shit from anything we discover. :bgrin:

Very nice games tonight Pedo. Some of those mirror matches really had me sweatin haha. It was funny pulling out the ultras for that last bit of chip towards the end. Had a lot of fun with those Sagat vs Bison matches as well. Your execution was way better than mine. Even on a stick I can’t seem to nail CH into ST. Ah well, with more practice, perhaps I’ll get it down. I feel so gimp without it.

GGs Pedo. I think the two major things you lacked in your game was follow ups for your offense and ST. I did so many things that you could have easily countered with ST. But yea ggs.
you think i could have used more ST. the only time I saw that i need to use it was when you would df.rh. as for your constant jump ins I like to jump and throw much better option than ST because it pushes you away from me, into the corner, etc. As for my lak of offense, yeah I was trying to win on footsies alone. NO AGGRESION, NO COMBO’S, NO NOTHING, NOTHING BUT WELL PLACED POKES and grabs. Lol because i failed horribly.
I think you like FA to much but you probably did that because i poked a lot. But personally i think you took to many risks. You have a nice offense, but when I kept control of the space between me and you, you ate a lot of moves that should not have landed had you been safer. I dont know though, im trying to focus my game into a complete calculated game plan(think ryu/guile HF). I wont poke, OS, or take any chances, everything i do now is to try and force a reaction or set my self up to look like I am open.

1-KNucklez , i could remember seeing his vids i was like hes a BEAST & i challenged him & he WHIPP my ASS 10-0 & i ONLY got 2 rounds against him , THIS was WAY back LAST Nov whn i was jus startin to LEARn how to ply wit VEGA but wit PRACTICE & more EXPERIENCE ive gotten WAY BETTA , the last 2 times i plyed AGAINST him i WON which was a SEMI tournament i hadd ina XBL party a month ago & he tol me i got WAY BETTA den da last time i FACED him !..we hardly ply against e/o bcuz we both ply against other catsz to to build our own reputation as WE MAKE a (TEAM VEGA ) XBL STYLE 
2- Jozhear , i hardly get to ply him but hes the ONLY 1 i havent BEATEN yet , i mean ive do GET like 1 round but cant seem to get the other ROUND but i doo GET CLOSE !!..im 0-6 against him SO FAR & havent plyed him INA HOTT MIN & from the last time i plyed him he tol me the only thing that was missin in my game was da KARA THROW which is HARD for me to pull off consistently ona 360 control =[ ! but ima STICK to what i got cuz im good wit what i GOT !..but the next we ply E/O i kno i will DO VERY WELL & end that losing STREAK !

Online was taking too long to get a game, or the players I’d get would be brand new or just dumb and my bro won’t play with me. laaaaaame. So taking a break til SSF4 drops it looks like.
My rivals are Tatsu, Mask-Terror, and Rizhall.
What I meant for the ST was that I would do alot of FAs, NJ right next to you after a FA, or grabs, or any attack, where ST would beat all of those options. I also focused you alot because of several reasons. 1. Because you were not using ST so w/o fear of ST FA is alot more powerful. 2. Because you kept using OS cr short which was easy bait for the FA when I was in grabbing range. 3. Because you never jumped, which also made it easier. 4. You basically always used KKK flip when I was about to attack which has alot of lag, and isn’t much of a threat for me to stop. 5. Because it was such an easy way to get past all your pokes. 6. Basically you weren’t stopping my FA with anything, and you kept getting punished for it.
The times where I was jumping in repeatedly after getting AA RH was not me just me taking a risk, it was me wanting to test the situation. I wanted to see if there was a way around that AA RH by attacking earlier or what not, and since AA RH isnt that punishing it allowed me to test it several times. Or when I was just rushing in in general it wasn’t punishing enough so I just tried out different methods. I try to learn new things when I can and since I only get to play with good people online I need to use those opportunities to test and learn new things.
Also about calculating everything… Thats fine and all, but there is never 100% certainty, unless your punishing a move. In other words every move you do has a risk, whether you like to think it or not. If you don’t attack and only counterattack your still taking a risk. You risk not being able to properly defend my moves, or if you only poke you still risk a FA or FA dash into me mounting an offense. What you should be thinking about is how to mount a proper offense while maintaining your strong defense. As you can see your strategy failed you miserably. I used to think like you at one point, but then realized what it all boils down to which is what I said. A proper offense always wins.
yeah, I dont know why i didnt pressure. Today felt like a Sagat day for me, so all i did was footsies/zoning. I have a good offense, ask Kentaro FA, Fear the Gobler, and Jozhear. Dunno though could have done way better though. Right now I dont care about my offense, I want to polish my footsies so they become top notch and I can force you into the corner. I did push you to the corner fairly often, but I failed to take advantage of the corner because of my obsession with footsies during the match.
I dont like ST, I think its pretty bad. Sure its starts fast, but you get punished for it bad. I only use it for situational AA.
2. I dont option select anything. That is the worst thing you can do with Vega. I was trying to combo cr.lk - cr.lp. But my execution is garbage ATM because I didnt play the game for a while.
3.Jumping is stupid. From my experience it leads to me dying so I try to never jump in. besides Vega’s ground game is where its at.
4. Although everyone says flips suck, im trying to find a way to use them effectevly, I know I shouldn’t have used them, in fact i should have just stayed sturdy and punish your slide attack.
5. Jumping up and down at random, the threat of a slide, random df.rh, FA, and when your pokes whiff because of stupid hit box properties makes getting past pokes easy. No brainier there, but every Vega should know how to keep someone locked with pokes, and ATM that’s what im trying to accomplish.
6. The problem with FA is that im not used to dealing with them.
Trust me my Vega is way different from what you played today.
You do the OS for a grab tech don’t you? cr lp, lk? You did that alot. Every time I NJ or FA next to you, you did a cr short, which is why I am assuming you did the OS for the grab tech.
You never flipped when I did the slide… You flipped when I was FA you, which is fine, except not when it became predictable like it was. The flip has its very limited uses… dodging moves that will otherwise have killed you (chip dmg) and you can punish them back, and its great for dodging FAs.
Also your dislike for ST doesn’t change the fact that its a great move for punishing me in the situations that you were in. You should have been using it when I was FA you and NJ you.
Also jumping is not stupid. Whats stupid is jumping when the opponent is likely to counter you. Not jumping can also be stupid when the opponent knows that you won’t jump. It takes away another thing for them to have to take care of. As in it limits your game.
Its fine and all if you don’t really play like how you played today, but what you are saying doesn’t make sense. If and when you understand what I am saying happens, then it will probably impact your game in a better way. If you get better, then so will the rest of us that play you.
s.rh/st.lk - st.rh/grab is what i should have done for FA because i wasnt always holding down back. n.j grab/rh/hp is what i should have done to your empty jumps since the start up is and angle of the hit box that i need comes out faster than ST. anything you can do by jumping you can do by walking forward. Jumping just bypasses fireballs and random pokes. You simply jumped to much. Had I been on it, which i should have been you wouldn’t jump in or up because i would always throw you. The mix up you try to create by jumping up and down is non-existent. You simply block, wait, tech. But whatever I’ll stop and dont bother responding because this might get out of hand.
