Hey great playing you too! I could learn a thing or two about comboing off you…I know I shouldn’t use his Super(but often the other Vega is so shocked that I’d even attempt it, that it hits…not against you though!!).
No please do! I obviously need a little practice in that area(though i do hate them!lol)…I had no idea it was you mate, Akuma threw me a little. I’ll add you when I get home from work tonight, if that’s ok? So we can play again at a future date…
you’ve got a real good Vega(and Akuma for that matter!).
I figured you didnt know who i was since i changed my tag… but i recognized your tag, thats why i sent you the invite. Our playstyle is pretty similar, we did alot of moves at the same time, it was pretty funny
And sure, send me a friend invite anytime.
But, just to let you know, i dont really play often anymore. And when i do play, i just mess around with akuma. If you see my account playing civilization or call of duty, that’s not me lol.
GG’s Jozhear; I think I really need to invest in a stick hahaha but no excuses of course you play a really mean vega. I have a lot of trouble ticking your throws your jump in game is top notch. Also that was a really crazy ultra from the cr lps and dashing out of them into the ultra when i jumped in the air to get out of the corner. P.S. how did you do that so fast? I didn’t realize that you could dash out of a non FA into an ultra that was really amazing. I’d love to play some more vegas I really do need the practice.
My gamertag is KentaroFA on Xbox live in anyone is interesting in some matches
Yeah, that ultra was a forward dash ultra. It’s just like the FA version but obviously you don’t have the benefit of the waiting period of the focus. with practice, you can do it as easily as the FA version. Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem to work at all with a backdash.
And thanks. You were doing pretty well for the most part. My biggest piece of advice is to not use those flips on defense. Any time you want to use a KKK flip, use a backdash. It’s faster, and much more safe, and that was the reason why I started jumping on you so much. Nice airgrabs when you got em, though. Also, I was using kara throws on you, so they might be really tricky. It sucks you don’t have a stick, but I’ve been able to perform karas on a pad, so i highly suggest you start practicing that. all in all though, you improved from the last time i played you. I suggest if you’re going to use RCFs to make it so the first roll hit will get blockstun, so that way I can’t jump out / control things more. Aside from that, if ever i have you in the corner, and you anticipate a c. lk, walk up throw, use a reversal ST after the c. lk. I always use the meaties on your wakeup to prevent getting reversal’d, but if you wait after that first hit you will likely succeed as I normally don’t let up at that point. The one time, you even interuppted my throw with a c.lk, walk up throw of your own. That’s the best way to revert the offensive game i have. GG’s Kentaro.
My vega is still pretty shitty, but I’d totally be down with training with some of you guys if you don’t mind showing me some shit. xbl: fearthegobbler
My Bison is alright, I have way more fun playing claw though.
Advice:
Less PPP flips. Those got you into trouble.
There’s no point in using Barcelona on Vega unless it’s an intended EX FBA punish or the meaty ones I was using on you. Pretty much every time you did it I’d KKK flip and punish. All it does is lose health for you, and even the EX FBA’s should be toned down a bit. They’re easier to get hit out of then people think so make sure you conserve some of your meter if you’re not 100% on whether it’ll work.
Use Cosmic Heel more. I got you with a couple cosmic heel setups that you should integrate into your game, like meaty st. mk, cosmic heel, or c. jab, st. lk, st. lk, cosmic. It all depends on the other character’s poke range so make sure you work it into your game and see what works.
Practice your kara throw, and its set ups. You need to integrate that.
Practice teching throws. I got you with more than I should have.
Aside from that… good stuff. I noticed you must have been reading the post I was talking about using ST on defense in, heh, cause a lot of times you got me right out of my jump and right out of my block strings. Excellent use of that move. Do you play offline or online more? You jabbed me out of a lot of my throw set ups / jump outs but be aware that that stuff works online much more than it does offline, thanks to button delay. In certain matchups where people have invincible moves that do away with those pokes, you need to be a little more careful. Up close you got pretty scrappy whereas you want to be much more solid on D.
I also suggest using your backdash more, and I noticed you rarely used focus. Good; focus is overrated and gets you into more trouble than it does good. Using it sparingly is much better than focusing out of everything that touches you.
Again, good stuff.I wouldnt’ say your Vega is bad at all. Just tighten up on defense and start integrating other stuff into your game that you weren’t using on me, and you’ll be OK.
Yeah thanks for the games and assessment man. your vega is pretty nasty. I’ll have to work some of that shit into my game. Any advice on how to create some good ultra set ups? And, while I know this is sort of how it goes, any advice on escaping the dreaded corner? 90 percent of the time, once I get trapped I’m dead.
BTW, it seems that escaping RCF upon wakeup seems to be a pretty big theme in the Vega mirror matches that I fought. On midscreen, this is really no problem as a KKK backflip will easily give you an opportunity to punish. In the corner, this is slightly more tricky, but even if you’re low on health, a backdash will allow you to escape with only taking one hit and you’ll recover before their Fierce RCF will.
In the middle of a standoff, RCF is EASILY stopped with Cosmic Heel or slide. Only use Jab RCF in this situation.
