Getting to the Jaguar sleep over: Adon Combo Thread (OP Updated: 05-05-10)

If you clip someone out of the air with EX Jaguar Kick and don’t get both hits, it’s a free juggle. Hit 'em with whatever you can.

What are you guys using as BnB? Say after you land a jump in or cross up? I’ve either been doing cr.lk, cr.lp, lk RJ or cr.lk, cr.lk, lk RJ.

It seems like cr.lk, cr.lk, cr.lp, lk RJ sometimes whiffs. Either you miss the RJ or only get one hit.

The mp overheard would be a god move if you can follow it up with lk rj, fadc, ultra … but this happens 99% of the time when the opponent is STANDING. When he is crouching its just impossible to hit them right away with a rj, or a c.lk into rj ( still harder but possible ). I still will try a meaty mp overheard and see if it can combo afterwards.
For the people that use s.HP, c.lk( lp )~RJ, do u use the close or far HP version? I never connect the close one in most crouching characters. Also characters like Chunli or Ryu just wont get hit with a c.s.HP after you using a level 2+ FA, and Ryu’s U2, respectively.

Recently played in a tournament after getting down the TK JK and wow I’ve finally seen the light. iair jk is wack, only tk is good, it hit’s so much more consistently and go overs projectiles (except for rose’s). And you’re guaranteed the sweep from so many ranges. I feel like having this down is a major part of Adon’s game. You really can’t just throw it out like cammy, but it will be very useful as a punish, block string mix up since it beats throw, on wake up, or after rj fadc cl.rh reset. Not really new info at all, I’m just pretty hyped off this move because it looks dope and flashy combos amuse me :cool:

edit: Also, this has been very useful. You can hit confirm into c.strong if it’s a counter hit close fierce and if it just hit’s non counter hit you can still hit confirm into c.jab. Also, c.jab walk forward close short link c.jab rj is really buff since close short is such an amazing poke and it’s very easy to hit confirm into c.jab. Very easy slow link.

You can go over rose’s fireball, you just have to get your execution to like 100% and know the timing. For some strange reason I can only go over them at mid-range with the tk ajk, which is preferred way of using the tk ajk, just weird that I can’t get it to go over them full screen.

Also, been messing around with a pressure string you guys might like. It’s the stop hitting buttons string.
cr. lk, st. lp, fr. st. lk xx hk jk

After that I usually follow it up with tk hk jk, fr. st. lk xx hk jk (of course follow up with a sweep if they eat the tk ajk)

So since the actual tk jk input does have to be slightly slow, you buffer it while doing ground hk jk. Pretty smart I’m going to try that as follow up aswell. I’ve been using this same block string with mk jk to get myself in again. I use s.lk because it’s my favorite Adon normal.

I’ve also been using a similar block string with a brief pause to beat back dashes. I do cr lk., cr.lp x2, s.hk. Then I follow up with a tk jk if the s.hk hit. If it only hit’s once you are at even more advantage then +1 since you hit them with the late active frames, which is pretty sweet.

Well remember how I said you can do any combo in rj then fadc then double dash to other side of the character to do another rj (has to be mk though)? (btw this won’t work if you just rj with out doing a combo before, other wise you’re not spaced correctly to dash under with the second dash.)

Well after the second Mk, you fadc again, but just dash once and lk rj. and the second hit will connect.

so the combo is lets say

cross up mk, close standing hard punch, rj mk, fadc, second dash to end up on other side, rj mk, fadc, rj lk.

This combo is so funny looking but awesome. You can rj fadc rj fadc then immediately rh rj and get the second hit (which does 100 on the second hit)

Instant air jk has a hit box that is higher off the ground so it doesn’t hit alot of characters crouching or somethimes even whiffs on character standing. TK JK actually hits all character crouching or standing because it’s hit box is lower, but still high enough to go over most projectiles. EX Ground jk is best for going through projectiles though since it has full projectile invl.

I normally don’t play online since my connection is whack but I might be at my parents house or a friends house and get a few games on their connection under my psn

I dunno if this was posted or brought up, but after a instant air JK, you can go right into an EX Rj.

Not a too difficult of link, easy fadc ultra set up if you want to use up 3 bars.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but it is possible to hit rj after the wall-bounce version of the super, if none of the elbows hit. As useless as it is strange.

I think you can’t follow up after the regular version of super because of the juggle potential. I’m pretty sure it’s non existent -_-’

I think the super has fireball invincibility. I guess of you punish a full screen fireball, you’ll only get that last hit in and able to juggle off it for extra damage?

What’s the max number of hits you can get off 1,000 Jaggas? What’s the window to start mashing?

i think the maximum # of hits for that super is 18. The easiest way to find out is to go into training mode and do jaguar assassin, and then do thousand jaguars and mash until you get more damage than assassin. At max hits it’ll be 10 more damage.

What’s the point of the kick and knees finishers anyway? Punches have the best damage and are the safest (still not too safe tho). It doesn’t make sense to have the other finishers, like in A2. They should have made it like A3 where kick finisher was best damage and punch was safest.

I thought the kick finisher did the best damage?

it did in the older games. not ssf4. mashed punches does the most.

Maybe it’s my slow old hands but I’m having an awful time doing cr. forward into RJ. Is there something simple I’m missing? I’m not using the shortcut motion. Any tips?
