Good shit. At certain ranges far st.mk will stuff just about all of Ken’s normals including the step kick. And for some reason Ken’s DP hit/hurtbox is different from everybody elses, so ambiguous cross up are very risky. Damdai started Autocorrecting his dp. You shoud have started inputin a late kneeshot. Also Damdai Dp in his block strings when has 2 meters and U1. Well most good Ken’s will delay the Dp for an easy frame trap U1 setup. Nice links

I’ve been realizing that I ONLY play the fundamentals. Need to make people guess, especially in deejay’s 6-4s. That’s the only way to win a 6-4 against a player of equal or greater skill.

need to learn when and how to use far rh anti air. even if it trades it would most likely be in your favor.

close roundhouse air juggle seems like the most useless addition to any character ever. Who is going to be able to land that, lol.

i dont think its useless, but im so used to pressing close s.mp that i havent tried use it . what i dont like about it is if you hit it without charge u cant combo anything extra, but at least u still get the knockdown

Yeah. Whiffing cr. mk gets you combo’d by Yun pretty hard too. anyhow.

to use st. hk, you gotta pretty much predict it and press the button the moment you see any air movement as its now an 11 frame start up. You do it too late and you will get counter hit into full jump in combo by ANYBODY. do it too early and … same thing after it whiffs lol.

close roundhouse is 6 frames and a pretty decent AA, the earlier you press it the better cause the 2nd hit has the better hitbox, even the far s.hk has an improved hitbox where u can beat or trade with jumpins now or hit some empty jumps the usual AAs wouldnt. The problem with close s.hk is there is a 2 frame gap between the first and second hit where youre completely vulnerable, as long as you dont get hit during that gap youll pretty much always win clean or trade(except for a higher arcing jumpins).

s.mk kara throw gives a tiny range boost in AE, it’s a little better than his s.hp kara throw.

Close RH has saved my ass so many times against DH. When I know hes gonna teleport out of the corner or if hes going for some shenanigans i just hit Rh at the blink. It comes out fast and has dble frames, and it hits fairly high up.

And since this is SSF4 DiveKick edition; i’ve had some luck with FHP hitting yun and yang out of their hk divekicks, it sets them up in a counter jungle state where you can follow up with kicks or a cr.mk for untech knockdown into wakeup pressure.

And someone mentioned that the DeeJay Rufus match is in DeeJays favor, but I am having a hell of a time dealing with a local rufus. Can someone explain how that match works?

its definitely in deejay’s favor, but its not impossible for rufus.

  1. knowing your AAs and what works where is very important.
  2. you can safely meaty rufus because of ex messiah’s long startup
  3. when he actually gets close for a divekick look for
    a. double dive kick? mash stand jab or st. strong
    b. dive into st. lk frame trap block and wait for the throw or upkick inbetween.
