Anyone got any Rose knowledge? My friend plays rose and i have no idea how to punish soul spiral. I know its negative on block and i punished it once with a reversal ex upkicks but i’m not sure if that was an actual punish or just luck.
ugh I’ve been playing way too much Marvel. But I think the move you’re talking about, when spaced properly, is safe on block (actually turns 0 - +1? I think.)
You can do LK xx LP Lunge Punch, or LK xx MK/HK Dragon Kicks depending on the spacing of the blocked soul spiral.
Go into training mode record the dummy and have it do soul spiral and then block, i punish with cr lp st lp st mp hk upkicks.
Man, Rose’s spiral pressure. I recommend going in to training and learn what distances you can and can’t punish it from.
Anyone know the most consistent way to anti air T Hawk? Jump back strong was working for me until but that’s still kind of meh.
EDIT: Immediate nj.fierce seems to work the best.
Havent really fought any hawks with Yun but how good does lk dp work on him?
If they delay the dive, it gets stuffed
Tested in training mode, st mp seems like the best normal to AA, st hp works in some situation but overall st mp, lk upkicks and ex upkicks are your best bet, cr hp is good aswell you have to use it early.
Edit: jump back hk works really well aswell.
Does anyone have any information about the Bison matchup? Like what ranges should I try to stay in and things like that? I feel like when I get about 3/4 screen away, I have to worry about blocking scissor kicks.
neutral jump.
How do y’all deal with the Guile matchup? It seems a lot of people think this matchup is in Yun’s favor but i haven’t seen the matchup enough to why it would be. I heard there was a long running Kaz/Dieminion set that Kaz won, but I checked the link and it was just marvel >.>
Ha xD
To deal with Guile, my first priority is getting him in the corner. Inch forward through the booms, finish combos with lunge, etc. Once you have him in the corner, you can kind of just sit outside of his footsie range and let him make the first move.
Anyone know how to deal with the seth matchup? Whenever I face one, no matter how low the pp is, I pretty much say gg to myself. He has so many options it feels like if I ever get locked down the mixup game becomes like 70/30
The Seth matchup is painful for me because of his ability to switch from zoning to rush in an instant. A thing you have to remember when dealing with Seth is that there is no secret technology to get you out of his mixups if you get knocked down. You have to deal with them, so my approach to this matchup is to just not get put in a situation where I have to deal with them.
From long range, you have to deal with his keepaway game. Jump over his fireballs, and his fierce punches until you reach mid range. Here, he can either jump back, dive kick, jump in, dash, or go for another fireball or fierce if he’s feeling risky.
This is where I usually like to be against Seth. You can read his dashes and deal with them with a c.mk > lunge option select. The best way to anti air him would be nj.fierce or jump back mp but if you get caught whiffing a c.mk or st.lk, you can always go for the reaction lk upkicks(it’s a bit tricky to hit if he dive kicks),. Yun has all the tools to stop him from getting in at this range, and you still have all your footsies and dive kick to try to start your offense. Be careful once you actually DO get start your offense since Seth has so many options on defense. But 1 or 2 right guesses will result in a pretty nice life advantage for you, in which you won’t have to feel so pressured being at a distance. As far as dealing with his mixups…meh, you just have to play the guessing game ;).
I remember TheBreaker uploaded his picture depicting the best place to stay at against Seth, and if you follow that space you’ll do fine. Also, don’t be afraid of Seth… that’s how you lose to Seth. Bait his shit and punish HARD. Make it a habit to Ex-palm his baited DP mid scren. Also, if u corner him, keep him cornered.
Last thing, his dp fadc on first hit is -1, on 2nd fadc is -3 or some shit so he can’t do much afterwards unless he has another meter for ex-cg (all commad grabs are 3f btw, and not grab invincible, only ex is hit invinci) or just dp. Also, all his dps are 5frames so u can safe jump him.
Too bad though… his dp fadc is still good even at -1… i’ve never been able to grab or hit him out of anything he does afterwards even if i have turbo on. such bull shit -.-;;
Nice thread guys, just to add a bit to that gief part when he has U2 stocked and you’re scared to anti-air with upkicks…LP shoulder and cl.mk anti-air alot of his crap and you get Lunge punch or U1. Oh and punish a whiff lariat with his jumping TC when you can
The best way to learn the timing against Seth’s 1 hit uppercut FADC is to record the training dummy doing HP DP xx FADC ~ SPD. This might take a couple of tries because you can’t block with the training dummy recording but it helps with the timing part immensely. Thing is, you usually have to reset a lot because the timing will get screwed up after SPD lands even if you downback the entire recording period afterwards.
Once you can do this, you can either standing grab (easier, won’t lose to EX SPD) or cr.LP into a full combo on blocked FADC DPs (harder, would lose to EX SPD if it was 1 hit.)
Anyway, I like to stay at mid range against Seth. Tanden Engines at this range are incredibly risky, Seth has a hard time AAing you until he has U1, and bad Tanden Engines can be punished with Yun’s 3f cr.LP until Seth has meter (where he can start throwing DP out after being -1 to -3.) But number one thing is, as it’s been said before…don’t be scared. Seth is rolling the dice quite often, you should roll with him somewhat frequently to scare him. Don’t be afraid to try mixing him up (just make sure your set ups work before hand, ofc.) You get him in the corner - keep him there. And that EX Palm combo is literally 50% of his health with an FA3 (more, actually!) Just don’t throw out palms when he has U1 outside of punishes.
Is there any way to deal with Cody’s Forward MP? It seems to counter hit everything i throw out.
You have to block or reversal its +1 on block so if he throws out a cr lk it will beat everything unless you reversal.
