This game is a blast, I love playing as Gato. The online sucks though. GGPO here I come… downloading right now
That’s cool. Jae is waiting for him. =P
Can anyone here help me out with general playstyles for Grant, Jae Hoon, and Freeman?
I use mainly Grant and do a allright job with him online [ 65-32?, with most losses coming from using other characters]
But when I switch to Freeman or Jae Hoon I proceed to get smacked.
What are some ideal ways of approaching and applying pressure with these two, and ways of getting out of pressure? Any general playstyle tips or ways to set up bread and butter combos?
Also, If anyone wants to do some player matches online, my connection is good and I dont really experience lag, so hit me up.
I started out with Hotaru to get used to my stick a little better. Her SRK, Hado, and Tastu movements are familiar to me so I just figured I’d start with her. So far she is amazing. The air tatsu is so beast and her super always seems to catch people off guard. Seriously a fun game and I’m glad I got a hold of it.
lol i guess its just forums that don’t count the final bracket as part of the link.

Part 1 of the Kevin vid is up
Aw man I had an epic battle. A kain got me two rounds but I learned the pattern and I kept JDing his air projectile and gaining health and I skull fucked him. Man it was epic.
Some times I feel like Gato’s overpowered cause I keep winning lol
I got double penetrated when I mained Rock
…whats with all this sex terminology
So since the game has garnered a surge of new players for this game (thanks to the XBLA release), I’m just curious if any of you would be up to playing in an offline tournament event at GVN Summer Jam 2009 in Philly, PA?
Most likely it would be a $10 entry fee as well as there being numerous other games:
DOA 3.1 - $5
DOA 4 - $10
VF5 - $10
UFC - $10
SF4 - $10
SFHD - $10
3S - $10
BB - $10
The event would take place on August 22nd, and would be using the XBLA version I believe. Adding the game hasn’t been assured as I’m trying to gauge interest in people coming to the event.
So, assuming the event adds the game, how many of you would be available to come down and participate in it?
I would love to get good with Kevin, hes soo much fun.
Perhaps this morning (US/Central) was an anomaly, but Garou on XBL was a ghost town.
Gato is so much fun. I swear his :qcb::snkd: to :snkc: is broken! Not to mention you can get a free juggle with it against an airborne opponent!
Just started learning Kevin. I love his break move.
I was on for a bit and couldn’t find any matches at all, so I went and played it on 2dfighter instead
There are probably some times when the game gets really dead online, I know I played a bit yesterday where I couldn’t find any matched, played survival for a bit and came back and there were plenty.
I’m still really loving this game, Freeman is the character I use mostly, but also enjoying Terry and newly discovered Jae Hoon who I really enjoy using too. I’ve played with Tizoc a bit, but I’m pretty hopeless with him, with the stricter inputs in this game, I can’t pull out his 360s and 720s to save my life.
I’ve found a few Australians online that have <100 Ping ratings so we can get some great matches, but I find that most players under 200 can get me a pretty good match too.
Well…Part 2 of the Kevin vid may not have a lot of combos, but I’ll prob. throw in some extra ones and make it an exhibition vid as well.
The more I play this game the more I find myself loving it, above and beyond any SNK game I’ve tried. How was it received by the fighting game community (both in the States and abroad) when it was originally released? I don’t see too much info on wikipedia.
Somebody else is also waiting :wonder:
It seems that it was reviewed quite well, and I’ve always heard it talked about amongst fighter fans as one of the best of all time, but I don’t know how it did in terms of sales.
It didn’t really sell well anywhere if I remember, but sort of grew in popularity over time as more people played it and realized it was awesome.
My 2 cents say that sounds about right.
Jae Hoon = Beastmode.
