"Get Ready...Survive!" The New Garou: Mark of the Wolves Thread

I’ve seen people call Garou one of the best fighters of all time and I’ve also seen it called utter trash for idiots. It has its haters, just like any fighter.

I like how you went extensive with the notes this time around. First song was a bit weird (but good), but the one during the combos was just right. They were well done too and looking forward to see what other stuff you got in store for him in Pt. 2.

It’s probably been discussed before and for that I apologize, but does anyone have a detailed list of differences between the arcade edition of this game and the PS2 version? It would be helpful and most appreciated, thx.

Heh I was actually aiming for a ‘calm tune’ during the text. I don’t think one would be able to fully grasp much of the stuff I wrote at the start with some heavy metal tunes

That doesn’t list all the differences from Ps2 to arcades MVS. The PS2 version is slightly faster than the arcade version and it fixes a lot of the slow downs from the arcade version. Which means lots of things have different timings as far as combos, feint cancels, breaks, etc. The guard cancel words don’t show up on the screen when you do a guard cancel is missing from the Ps2 version. The training mode is good for practicing lots of things. Especially with the command button which allows you to record inputs then practice just defending common block strings.

Though the training mode does have some strange bugs that me and Giby have found while messing around. If you set the dummy on the second player side to player so you can play it on it. If player 1 uses Kain and does his :qcf:x2 + :snkd: super the second player wont be able to just defend it in the air. Not sure why that happens but you wont be able to just defend it at all in training. If you go to arcade/versus mode you can just defend it just fine.

The Xbox 360 is an exact copy of the PS2 version except it fixed the guard cancel letter not showing up issue. Everything else is pretty much an exact copy of the PS2 version even the training mode has the same bugs as the PS2.

Oh so the 360 version is exactly like the PS2 version, huh? So the arcade slow down shit is fixed there too? I really might have to buy it then sometime, that’s the one thing I couldnt stand about the arcade version. Plus I need some work against blockstrings and the practice mode is perfect for that.

I was very disappointed when I found that a lot of staple combos from the arcade version don’t work at all on PS2.

Even links like Grant’s st. A/cr. A into super don’t work anymore. Does it work on xbox?

The PS2 port is OK but you really have to change the way you play certain characters, and that’s no good.

Hi. Nice to meet you. You don’t know what you’re talking about. Do you have any other combos that you think don’t work on ps2 for me to call bullshit on, or do you want to stop with just that one?

All arcade combos work on the PS2/Xbox 360 version. The game runs faster so it’s probably messing up with your timing probably but all the combos do work.

:bluu:

Well, I can do Grant’s combo just fine on the neogeo version. On PS2, the dummy blocks the super everytime. If the timing is just different then it’s way harder.

It’s mostly juggles…like Marco’s corner combo
st. D, dp+A, break, qcf+B, kick super…the super always misses.

or kain’s corner combo
d+AB, C, punch super, kick super…the energy ball always misses.

It’s as if the characters fall a bit faster on ps2 or something.

By the way check your vagina, it’s full of sand.

The PS2 version runs faster. Everything works fine, you just need to do everything a bit faster. It took me a while to adjust, but practicing on this version will help you with stuff on the Neo version.

So far im 3-8 online. About 3 of the matches I lost was from input lag; even with 56 ping.

Seriously am I the only person who isin’t having these problems online?
ive played about 60 matches in ranked mode (47/13) and I only had about one match where it had some lag…

i never had any problems with the ps2 version. i can do any combo on it (cept the kims infinite repeat and hoku infinite) and i do it one a shitty ps2 controller. litterally shitty, as the R1 buttons almost dead, X doesnt work like it used 2, and the d-pad isnt all that anymore either. so its you buddy.

No, so far my games (I’ve played 35 or so) have been great for the most part. Yes, input lag has gotten bad in a few, but my guess is just that the opponents were on wireless.

nope you arent the only one

Are you hosting the match?

Generally I find anything over 70ms starting to notice the lag, and anything over 90ms is just unplayable.

Yeah I host Most of my Matches, But I also do Customs.

I don’t think the host is soley decided by who makes the room.
