Maybe it’s just me, but I think that characters that have to rely on their feint cancels are kind of tricky. The reason why I consider Kevin, Gato and Grant pretty easy to pick is the fact that the rely more on their supers or break moves. B. Jenet doesn’t need her feints, but Terry does and KJH is a lot more threatening if you can master his feints. So personally I think those two are pretty hard to master.
Played a lot of Freeman mirror matches against Omerta =P
Gonna upload some vids soon. He’s also pretty well mannered, good man =3
right, sorry about that
Apology accepted =P
I’m sure a lot of us are guilty of being misunderstood every now and then =P
Well there’s some credit to your statement, so you wouldn’t be too far off =P

More on the way here soon.
Great vids Nocturnal! Finally some players I recognize, Koba, Yuki and so on. I haven’t enjoyed the TRF vids so these new ones goes perfect with my morning coffee,
thx
Edit: Great tourney but what the hell was up with the playing order? That Freeman player called Rice Refill Millimeter was godlike, but he only played one game? I didn’t get anything. Oh well…
Also, is it also Hoku that can perform double air attacks during a short jump? I think his string is B - A or maybe A - B but usually with characters that have those (practically everyone, Gato, Hotaru, the Kims) they are only available during normal jumps.
Obviously not all matches were recorded/uploaded. And i quees there were some matches from loosers bracket.
bizarre name + bizarre character + a raping playstyle = hilarious outcome. The Freeman was definitely on point. It’d be great to see more of his matches. I’d also want to note that the unnamed Hoku player was pretty nice as well.
Hoku, if I’m not mistaken, is the only character who can link two air normals from a short hop. You do it with hop :d: :snkc: -> :snkb:
I haven’t had a chance to watch all the matches, but I did watch the Freeman set. It was really good, and it makes me feel a little bit better about my crappy execution when someone as good as him was screwing up his stand A xx super as much as I usually do. He looks like a really strong player and I hope he mains Freeman some more in future tournies.
Good shit Noc
I think that Freeman player switch characters to either Hotaru/Hoku/Kevin since some names weren’t mentioned. I had figure out who was playing by color pretty much. Though that didn’t help out as some players tend to switch their colors at times.
Omerta already answered your Hoku question, make sure you hold down as you small jump to make it easier. A lot of the translation are probably off also on some of the names I got. Though I’m sure some of the names are meant as jokes or handles.
I’m not really sure where to ask this, but er sometime back on these forums someone posted some screen shots about what was supposedly Garou 2. I’ve haven’t heard anything new about a possible Garou 2 since then, so did they turn out to be fake?
That was me (most likely in this post), people told me they were fakes (I think I still have the screenshots saved somewhere if you’d like to see them). As we all known though, SNK supposedly had a good portion of Garou II done right before they went bankrupt. My impression given the current state of things is, after KoF XII comes out… and pending it’s success, we could finally see a Garou II using the same technology. But at the moment all we can do is cross our fingers.
Edit: To keep this post on topic, where is everyone playing online these days? 2D fighter? MAME w/ Kaillera? GGPO? I’d like to get back into the scene.
Both GGPO and 2DF have a lot of players online a lot of the time.
Do people still use MAME w/Kaillera??? =O
I’d probably use MAME just for Killer Instinct and maybe Mortal Kombat.
Some people still use it for p2p at times but overall everyone prefers nFBA for online gaming now.
2df also perhaps (dunno no one likes Mac.)
This is gonna sound hella stupid, but can someone please tell me how to Guard cancel? I cant do it for the life of me and ive been struggling to do one ever since i started -_-
Here you go.
When I do it… I like to think of the motion (dp,qcf,270,etc…) as the block motion. Like… you have to do that motion in order to block.
Then as soon as you block, press the attack button you want.
TOP attacks and qcb moves are the easiest. For motions that go forward, add a ‘back’ or ‘down-back’ motion right afterward. TOP attacks don’t need the motion, so just JD, then hit C+D.
Do this ‘block motion’ at the right timing for a JD.
