Here you go =3

So this matchup chart doesn’t really determine the tiers, or does it? I can’t see how Kevin would be 4th tier. Although I usually have problems against B. Jenet, I still consider Kevin being number one. Then probably Gato, then B. Jenet/Grant, then…
its made up based on the skill levels of the players, so, no, it doesn’t.
Alternate, where’s that chart from ? I’m pretty ok with it.
I like this thread, so much good information here. Also, just a question: when is hotarus info going to be uploaded?
yes she’s my main but she’s the only character i havent seen a decent guide on.
you can check the wiki and watch some match videos for the basics though.
she has alot of very good tools at her disposal. and probubly the best bnb no meter combo in the game with a/b. qcb b break. qcf c.
If you’re asking who made the chart, I haven’t any idea ^^;
But this is the chart from the previous Garou: Mark Of The Wolves Thread =P
Garou’s hotaru is difficult to play. It helps if you know her air chains. I dropped her, I don’t think she’s as good as gato or marco/butt, who IMO play similarily but are easier and hit harder.
Jenet is a really simple and really good character. I played her for a while. She doesn’t have nearly as many tools as some of other dudes but what she got is really good. Like, her low B, jump B, her feint, her air down+B/D, and her Cs. As and Ds not so hot though… she has some antiair problems the way I see it. So I guess her problem is that she gets transparent.(or maybe I’m too simple, lol) IMO she can kill tizoc easy if she can stay on the range where her low B/jump B will barely reach him. Poor dude can do pretty much nothing but his CDs and jump attacks when that happens.
In cali, there are few really solid mow guys. Nocturnal is one of them, trust me when I say this dude knows his stuff. Kain, Kevin, Gato, Grant all cover gross amount of area easily and they are pretty popular in cali.
Yeah but if everyone plays gato, kevin or marco, it would be too boring…i like challenges, I hate playing easy characters
Well personally, I think Hotaru is a great character. She’s my primary main <3
She has aerial and jump in options. She’s got a very nice anti-aerial with multiple hitboxes, which is a plus in my book. A projectile and the ability to reflect projectiles if that means anything to anybody. She can build meter quite nicely if both players are camping of on the comfort of defense by spamming qcb+B>A+B (Her break move). It’s not as great as Gato’s qcb+B>A stomp cancel, but it’s one of Hotaru’s options. Her super move of choice is probably her qcfx2+B/D since it’s an anti-air for nice damage, I’m also sure it’s the safer one of her super moves.
And it (kick super)'s got a freakin short start up, very good on reversal.
Another bitchin move is her jump, d+B. It’s very similar to Chun Li’s air kick. Huge hitbox.
And a powerful option is her air CD move. Makes her half turn in the air. Free crossups ^^.
But the trick is that you can make a sort of infinite pressing when using [jumb d+B, CD] as a loop. It’s easy to JD but it can be really disturbing. If your execution is good, you can actually be a pain in the ass.
She can make huge combos beginning with a stand A cause you can link her breakable move (qcb kick). BTW, remember in Garou that break moves are a must in big combos for every character.
And for the fun, her total rampage combo:

Can’t be actually done in match
PS: if you want explicit combos, just ask for it :o
I know if you manage to use Hotaru’s break move in the corner, you can TK her aerial qcb+B/D, then combo into her qcfx2+B/D =P
That match up chart was from Howard Arena and they haven’t really updated it much now. It’s based on japanese players win streaks with the characters during tournaments. This is the same chart translated on from two different sites:

Google translation:
Fang Sword is Gato and Chinese/(Ho) Barrel is Hotaru.
I’ll have a Hotaru write up here very soon guys, sorry about the wait on that. There is also some more Garou tournament footage on the way as well so stay tuned for that.
Here are some matches I played on 2df, sadly there was lag but me and my opponent did the best we could.
I mostly used Tizoc and Grant, while he used mostly Dong, along with a good Freeman IMO.
Plz comment on anything I should improve on (btw my username there is Tizoc)-

Me too most of the time…at least… If the easy character fits my style I use them…but other than that I aint no damn bandwagoner… :annoy:
Better represent them low tier characters xD

^2 more sessions I played today. I rocked with Grant and Tizoc, but goodness do I freaking suck with everyone else, XD. Heck my Butt needs improving…
They’re not easy. Easy and solid characters are Jenet, Terry and maybe J-hoon.
Grant’s pretty solid too.
oh you got me wrong, I said i hate playing easy characters but I wasnt talking about gato, marco or kevin. I was talking about general fighting games.
I was saying that I wouldnt like to play characters that everyone plays or that are too used on tourneys, thats all
