I just got home. I’ll give this game one more shot online, at a time when more Americans are up and may have downloaded this game, before I condemn to the XBLA graveyard.
If it still lags, I’m logging onto GGPO.
Now why the HELL would you do that?! Here’s what it says:
“Hey SNK, I bought your game with online input lag that is so bad, playing on dial-up would be easier to do, all the while knowing that the netcode was well below par at best. Please keep up the sub-par work, and please make sure you include this abortion of netcode in all your future releases, because we like it like that!”
Buy their stuff when they get it right. Don’t reward them for when they screw it up royally. That’s like giving a kid a cookie when he smears his own feces on your wall.
Fuck that. They have already been told by Ignition about netcode and have not listened. Support it if you want, but just be aware that it’s just one more sale to convince them that making games with shitty online is a good decision and they can keep doing it without any negative repercussions.

What’s your high score and difficult setting on xbox live? I can manage about 4-5.5 million on MVS (4) setting. 8 difficulty I can only muster 2.5 million.
Around 4.9 Mil right now. I made it 3 out of 5 rounds with 90 secs which gives the extra points cause of the added round.
4 straight matches with lag. All of them 100 ping or less.

Out of all the matches I have played today (close to 60 or so) only ONE of them has had really bad input lag.
That’s kinda the way I play, except my time is default 60 secs. Does increased time give you more points?
My high score on MVS is 10mil. I’ll see if I can take yours down

I just read through some of the achievements.
“Take ‘Just Defense’ more than 10 times in one match.” (The name of the achievement is Impregnable Defense (instead of Impenetrable Defense).
“Clear STORY MODE, don’t lose any round, any continue, don’t encount KAIN.”
More proof that SNK doesn’t give a fuck about any fans of their games except for those in Japan.
98UM comes out July 8.

I have 98UM on ps2 but I want to get it on xbl as well.
I regret giving SNK money for Garou. I’m gonna wait it out on 98UM.
I won’t buy another thing from SNK until they get their act together. That’s all there is to it. They screwed up FFS, Samsho2, and now this with their POS netplay, will end up screwing up KOF98UM, and considering the trend, KOF12 will likely be just as bad. I would just be happy to have the code from SF4, or SC4, in KOF12 over this pathetic display of netcode.
But that’s not likely to happen.
KOF12 is already bad in the arcades. SNK is a dead company.
SF4’s code is really good to me. In my 2 months of playing I’ve had no more than 3 laggy matches.
The only reason I’ll get 98um is because of how I don’t have nearby comp (Noc and Giby are the closest, and that’s about 40 miles) and the nearest arcade is over 50 miles, and my car is a guzzler. I know personal problems, but at least I can attempt to play other ppl, otherwise the only way to play Garou online is GGPO/2DF.
Maybe it’s a Mike Tyson reference. Is there another achievement called Impetuous Style?
