"Get Ready...Survive!" The New Garou: Mark of the Wolves Thread

I’d buy it just for the port myself. $10 is better than paying $450 for the AES which I did years ago. I still practice on the AES and play online through GGPO/2DF. Go for it!

The emulated version has a practice mode, you just need the AES bios and mess with some dip settings in the emulator…but the practice mode is not the same as console. You won’t be able to record 2p or anything like that, just practice combos/blockstrings/setups on a dummy.

Now I’m really worried for KOF98UM!!!

Yeah, I just played about 35 matches all together, I didn’t host any of them. I didn’t notice any lag.

Great to hear. If more people say something similar, I’ll definitely be purchasing.

I’ve said something similar lol

Buy it.

So Rocks only good anti air is rising tackle?

Can anyone tell me what to do with Rock. I just want to dominate with him

Thats cool, I didnt know that. I know nothing of messing around with the emulated games like that.

And knowing is half the battle.

GI JOO… oh forget it.

I made a comment about this at ignition forums, which Tizoc brought up in another forum

I’m starting to think that their netcode is actually excellent…in japan. I don’t think they have any idea how to deal with lag on such a long a distance (the US is a much bigger country than Japan) Maybe that shouldn’t be an excuse but SNK isn’t exactly a country with the US’s interests in mind (which is where Ignition comes in)

It would say it has the same speed as the PS2 version after playing with it more now. It isn’t a bad thing just means you have to slightly adjust from going to the arcade version to PS2 version. A lot of the slow downs you see from the MVS version are removed and when going into TOP mode also. So it’s very similar to the PS2 version overall.

If you need Rock info check the second post of this thread and look at the Rock info posted there. You can also try using his :d: + :snkc: as an anti air. It covers space above him really well and you can feint cancel it if they happen to JD it. It helps recovering from it quicker that way.

d+AB is good against early jump-ins as well.

Just got this, first time ive ever played an SNK game… well apart from CvS2 but that was a while ago and on ps2 pads lol

so i got this today for a measly 800 points, not tried it online yet, but frankly not too fussed atm, im still learning it, so it might be fixed by the time i want to go online…

its mental! so much quicker than SF lol which im used to (A3, HDR, 3s, 4) but must say im having a lot of fun.

cant decide who to learn properly yet as ive only just had a little play in it, but im really impressed  love going back to the old style 2d fighters  life just seems simpler

hard getting my head round it atm after playing Sf4 religiously pretty much everyday for the past few months but im sure ill get the hang of it

Downloaded it a couple hours ago and haven’t encountered any delay so far (wasn’t hosting btw). Most of the people I see complaining about lag had dled the game as soon as hit live, and some even before it hit live on the xbox (they dled by purchasing it through the marketplace website), so there wasn’t exactly a decent amount of North American players online. In the past few hours that its been out, I haven’t seen nearly as many complaints of lag since those first few hours when it was out, which was like 2 in the morning or something. I would say DL it just to give it a chance and if not that, don’t count it out yet and wait for more people to give a try before jumping to any conclusions.

GGs Nocturnal, I was G0REWOLF!

It’s been years since I last played this game, going to go at it again.

And yes, I do experience a lot of Input Lag on the game, only once I played a match that had no lag, but that was out of the other matches I had.

The lag is terrible. Much worse than SF4. Don’t buy unless you don’t mind absurd input lag even when your ping is in the 90s.

Hmm, this may be the reason I haven't encountered lag, the highest ping I ever got was 60 but then again I have a good connection. I guess if you have a decent connection it's worth a shot, but if its some shitty kmart isp look elsewhere.

Okay I know everyone’s talking about the Online release for XBL, but when I finish all my vids I’ll link the Raging Storm 2009 Matches from Garou MOTW here…

Just played around online a bit, played my first scrubby Marco (not saying I’m good)
Never ending fireballs. In one frame of lag (100 ping) I couldn’t JD them all, so expect the new scrubby tactics if you’re gonna play XBL.

Also, on pad the controls are very loose. Analog Sticks have maybe 4-5 levels of input, and Garou acts at level 1. Considering how much throw you have left, that is very loose and ruins my gameplay. You’ll get accidental jumps when going for qcf’s if you did them quickly, doing rotations at the edge of the stick is not necessary. And we all know the d-pad is unusable. I know I’m an idiot for playing on pad in the 1st place, but I have no sticks for 360.

@DG: I’ve seen all of them already, but bring em.

I played about 15 or so different people online so far. Only about 2 of them I noticed any lag input, and they were both from the UK, which I have a shitty connection to anyways.

Sucks that lobbies in Player are only 2 though. I hope this isn’t a trend for other upcoming fighting games.

I don’t know if I played anyone off here (aside from ReXXXSoprano and I Kei I) but if I did, good games.

Hokutomaru gimmicks!

Hmm im from the UK and it seems fine just had a quick go online… tho i mighta just got lucky not sure
