Thanks for the Kain tips, I’m doing better on 2DF. I need some sanwa buttons to pull off the charge breaks more consistantly (using a Hori EX2). I’m interested in the :qcf: x2 :snkb:/:snkd: guard crush set ups and combos.
There are different variation guard crush setups with Kain but I’ll just go over the easier setups.
On Kevin, Tizoc and Grant only:
(Corner, full meter) Close stand :snka:x2, stand :snkb:, :qcf:x2 + :snkb:, dash in, close stand :snkc:, FC, :d: + :snka: + :snkb: into :snkc: follow up, :qcf:x2 + :snkb:, dash in, stand :snkc:, FC, :d: + :snka: + :snkb: into :snkc: follow up (this will Guard Crush on hit), FC, dash in, stand :snkc:, FC, :d: + :snka: + :snkb: into :snkc: follow up, charge , :f: + :snkb:.
(Corner, full meter, in TOP mode) Jump in :snkb:/:snkd:, land, charge :d:, :u: + :snkb:, break(:snka: + :snkb:) quickly into stand :snkb:, :qcf:x2 + :snkb:, dash in, stand :snkc:, FC, :d: + :snka: + :snkb: into :snkc: follow up, TOP attack (:snkc: + :snkd:)(this will Guard Crush on hit), dash in, stand :snkc:, FC, :d: + :snka: + :snkb: into :snkc: follow up, :qcf:x2 + :snka:, charge , :f: + :snkb:.
Everyone else:
(Corner, full meter) Close stand :snka:x2, stand :snkb:, :qcf:x2 + :snkb:, dash in, close stand :snkc:, FC, :d: + :snka: + :snkb: into :snkc: follow up, :qcf:x2 + :snkb:, quickly charge , :f: + :snkb: (this will Guard Crush on hit), dash in, stand :snkc:, FC, :d: + :snka: + :snkb: into :snkc: follow up, FC, charge , :f: + :snkb:.
(Corner, full meter, in TOP mode) Jump in :snkb:/:snkd:, land, charge :d:, :u: + :snkb:, break(:snka: + :snkb:) quickly into stand :snkb:, :qcf:x2 + :snkb:, dash in, :d: + :snka: + :snkb: into :snkc: follow up, TOP attack (:snkc: + :snkd:)(this will Guard Crush on hit), dash in, stand :snkc:, FC, :d: + :snka: + :snkb: into :snkc: follow up, :qcf:x2 + :snka:, charge , :f: + :snkb:.
If it sounds confusing I’ll make some videos showing how they look like.
ok i finally memorized the boss codes, but now people online are getting pissed that I use grant, are they not allowed or something or they unfair to use or something.
I love playing grant though:woot:
o well guess I will learn someone else:looney:
They are legal to use it’s just people think they are cheap cause they are boss characters.
i see, some dude was saying is not fair cause grant recovers way quicker i was like:confused: ok.
And he said if you wanna learn the game properly dont use him otherwise you can never hang with the poeple that know how to play. and i was like hmm ok:confused:
that got me a little discouraged but i will keep using him.
my other good characters are marco, gato.:woot:
Hope to see more of you onlin to battle :woot:
I always tell new players if they want to learn someone simple use Grant. Grant is one of the easiest characters to learn in Garou mainly because he has no feint cancel combos. All his combos are simple and easy to do. The only real advanced stuff is mainly certain mid screen combos and corner stuff but nothing super hard. Even with the limit options he has he is still very solid in the right hands. Compare him to Kevin, Gato and Jenet where they have so many options to land combos/openings. I dont get why people hate Grant so much if other characters have way better options in the first place. Everyone has their style of play and if Grant is yours then just stick with him. Play who you like to use and that is all.
I’ll go on GGPO/2DF later on to see if anyone is up for games.
Haven’t played in a bit again, but still forever supporting Garou
I never see you on GGPO anymore
I’ll try getting on more now then since people seem to want to play more now.
ggs nocturnal, you are a beast:pray: its inhuman how you land all those break moves and feint combos tood good guess ill need to keep practicing.
By the way what is a good tip to always break the moves cause i miss most of the time maybe am not fast enough?:wonder:
It depends on the character and what your trying to break. It also depends on what you are using when you play. Do you use KB or pad or stick? All I can really say is practice your breaks if your having problems doing them. Practice doing whiff breaks and on block/hit breaks as well.
yeah practice practice pracite:woot: By the way I use a custom made sanwa JLF with octagonal gate and sanwa snap ins:woot:
I have a hard time consistently breaking marcos/gatos DP moves with AB the move ends up coming out. Ill keep on practicing thanks:woot:
Just remember that it’s easier breaking it on hit than it is to break on whiff. Especially Marco’s :dp: + :snka: on whiff. Gato’s are a lot easier to break on whiff. I would first practice the breaks on hit/block so it becomes second nature. Then you can practice whiffing the break moves so you can build some meter, etc. Though with Gato I wouldn’t really use his :dp: + :snkb:/:snkd: for meter building at all. I would just stick to learning his stomp cancel instead which builds meter the fastest.
thanks, thanks i will try at home tonight:woot:
What am I missing?
Rock’s standing c to b super? I can only hit it 5-10% of the time…
EDIT: I should finally be on 2DF by the end of the week…
Practice is your friend:wgrin:. If it really is a pain for you to do you can try doing it as :qcf: + :snkc: + :snkd:, :qcf: + :snkb:/:snkd: instead. You can also do stand :snkc:, FC, :qcf:x2 + :snkb:/:snkd: as well.
I put close to two straight hours into just that yesterday… it’s to the point that my wife knows the sound of me failing that combo…
I’ll throw in the FC and see if I have any better luck landing it.
You might find it better to do with the FC because incause they block for instance it gives you a chance to react and wait instead. Unless you prefer to do a hit confirm then react to that instead.
A quick video I made of things Kain can do in certain situations and some funny stuff as well:

Enjoy.
I got rocked in some Rock dittos yesterday xD
(No pun intended >.>)
Fun as always =]
