Unless you’re a natural wonder, beating Ninja Gaiden II, like Dead Space 2, requires a bit of planning.
It’s tempting to use the respawn scroll when fighting one of the last two bosses. Don’t. Persevere, and save it for the final boss. Not only do you come back to life, you get full meters.
Dead Space 2, no one here has mentioned, I don’t think. I got to the final boss anticipating a big chance to load up on ammo first. Didn’t happen. I got to said boss with 2 line gun rounds. I was forced to change to Easy, and managed to win starting only with those same 2 rounds.
It was an amazing feat getting to the final encounter with as little ammo as I did. I didn’t realize I had to be fucking psychic. Most people don’t encounter this issue. I found it infuriating.
SoR3 is harder than the previous two, but still easy enough if you pick Blaze. Blaze was too good in that game.
The thing about FF1 is the random battle encounters were set too high. I couldn’t take 2 steps without fighting somebody. Can you imagen that going through dungeons? Pure Hell.
That underwater level in Nes TMNT did whoop my ass, but I hated the fact that things you killed in this game didn’t stay dead. Also Raph was the worst turtle.
Haha, there is a glitch in that game that gives you an instant charge on your weapons that I stumbled on just trying to fuck around with the combo engine…
Not necessary to beat the game, but makes it easier…
Whenever you jump, the exact moment you land, press and hold Y…
It should instantly charge your weapon with no preptime…
as much as I love it, I’ve never beaten Sonic 2…that got damn Robot Robotnik is in, I’ve never had the patience to play thru it and figure out the patterns
Battletoads for sure…all versions…
all Megaman games.
fucking Contra…(I tried to be hardcore and never use the Konami code)
original NES Ninja Gaiden. that game traumatized me and made me never play the series again.
I never beat either Earthworm Jim, but I think that was out of laziness…or ADHD with a large game collection.
i cant think of anything else off the top of my head…I’m shooting a pretty good percentage from the field of owning games that I could beat
its just fuckin Dr. Robotnik at the end of the Death Egg…I get a few hits on him and then toward the end, I’m pringles :(…and I say fuck it, go back out do the stage select code and go play in Casino Zone or something where its safe…
Cmon bro. Its like the obligation of every gamer to beat this game at least once. At least use Star Road. Shit, one time I brought my SNES to school and beat that game during lunch.
Funny thing to me is how the first Ninja Gaiden on NES was mostly a reasonable game…UNTIL you got to stage 5-1 or 5-2, whatever it was…and you encountered… THAT JUMP™. That Jump single-handedly ended the game for me. I tried time and time again to make it over there, but there was no hope. A bird flies right into Ryu’s way every damn time…and I think there was a soldier waiting on the edge as well, just in case there was a miracle and you made it over to that ledge.
Galaga Legions— it’s been several months since I played this… I can’t even remember if I beat that or not… most likely not. Galaga Legions is a trillion times more difficult than any previous Galaga game. No, you won’t beat it, most likely…and you definitely will not get all the achievements. I seriously doubt there is anyone in existence that has 200/200 achievement points for that. Yeah, it’s that rough.
Didn’t know about the infinites. My complaint is that it’s time consuming, and then if you decide to go take a break, you are basically forced to leave your Genesis on, because any time I’ve ever saved and turned it off, when I come back, it doesn’t matter how far I advance in rank, I’m soft and game over.
the people who were stuck on the water stage on turtles for nes don’t really sound like they played many nes games, because that shit wasn’t that difficult in the grand scheme of hard as fuck nes games. i’m not saying the game was easy by any means, but that part wasn’t that difficult compared to the shit that awaits you later.
to the dude that mentioned E.T. on atari: that isn’t a hard game, that game is fucking beyond playable. the holes you need to avoid? yeah watch out because there are invisible holes as well as the cops who will fuck you up.
never beat the nes metal gear, but i didn’t really try too terribly much because i fucking couldn’t stand that game.
The airbase was a pretty hard area, and the final level was pretty annoying even on emulator. Back in the day I had to make a map so that when I got to the last stage I could cut through as fast as possible. If you couldn’t beat the water stage you weren’t going to beat the game anyway.
Actually thinking about TMNT, I don’t know about the recent games, but can anyone explain why Leo is never the strongest in the older games when he’s the only turtle who wields a lethal weapon? >_<
