General 3S/3S OE Thread. NO DISCUSSING REBALANCE, unless you like INFRACTIONS!

Ibuki also had an air throw that did no damage. Damn SF4.

Or I guess it was if you win with an air throw, it didn’t register or something weird. They probably fixed that one at least?

hella hater

i get another grey hair everytime an ibuki does that jab, jab, jab, jab, jab, jab, jab, jab ARHGGGG

Yeah, I’ve basically stopped using jab almost entirely now vs my friends to be nice to them. They’ve taken to the idea that Ibuki’s jab must be horribly weak and don’t believe me when I tell them it’s a nuisance move. I can understand the Ibuki hate though.

WAH if you died to AE Ibuki tactics in 3S then I have no pity for you~

Instant thought pops in your head… “what a faggot”

If I would’ve used Ibuki for 2x the Ibuki on screen, I think I would have (already) won.

ibuki is super cool but online she is nauseating usually.

Pro tip: Alex’s st.HK counters Scrubuki’s jab, jab, jab BS.

My opinion on Ibuki is a bit different coming from the Aus scene. A few of the players considered high level back in the day mained Ibuki, there was also a time when she was the most popular character choice besides Ken. But after I started playing her earlier this year and I spent lots of time analyzing what Japanese Ibukis were doing with the character, I think it’s safe to say that no one in the west truly gets Ibuki. And yeah I guess that’s true for every character in the game, but Ibuki especially. Example: Japanese Ibuki’s will sometimes use short xx forward xx RH tsumuji after a low parry. I think the reason for using the target combo is to give time to confirm whether or not the opponent is crouching (because RH tsumuji won’t combo off forward on a standing character), and a RH tsumuji knock down can sometimes give preferable positioning to an EX. The west’s opinion: don’t use target combos, they scale!

Soooo many Ibuki players just let EX tsumuji rip without confirming. Useful sometimes, but one of the easiest ways to red parry it is to just guess whether the last hit will he high or low. For a low forward super character, it’s pretty much always worth the risk. Cunts are always chucking out random hiens looking for an SA1 confirm, or trying to get that stupid strong fierce xx command dash cross under shit to work (It’s really hard to make it look genuinely ambiguous offline, especially against thin characters)…

Versing Ibuki can also be mad fun if your opponent knows how to use her normals well in the neutral game and makes smart reads. Getting hit by jabs all day might be boring, but when you’re playing an Ibuki who’s hitting you with those jabs, using other normals to fish for counter hits, throwing out raw raidas to deter you from parrying and ending her blockstrings with throw/IA SA1 mix-ups… that’s A LOT of fun.

Dander did this to me yesterday, and some other things I never seen before ever, with Ibuki. connection was better than ever before. I thought about putting it on video, but that would take a long time to just show people Dander match videos, based on stuff I just don’t know & other people already do.

Had to watch the match again to see what happened.

JabJabJab is in “homo-genius” youtube series of the “help its a stand jab” now in all these new games, everyone is Ibuki?! So that’s kinda stupid, these videos illustrate Dander Ibuki JabJab better, but everytime he plays me with Ibuki I see something new/looks organic I never seen before.

SF3Alex still dresses like that.

except his overalls pantsuit are skin tight, the hell is up with that

@Chad

and anyone else that knows something about Oro with Yagyou please meet me in the dusty old Oro section. Got some questions.

I own Chad. Why just the other day I got one of them green bars on 'em? ~~

every character subforum is woefully dusty. I remember the good ol days when only the Gouki subforum was enough to keep me occupied on SRK. I miss Harmonaz being a regular poster

Having character specific threads in the main forum would be a pretty good idea these days IMO.

Yeah I was gunna put it in the main forum but I’m nostalgic for the days that Pherai spoke of.

ive said the same a few times bob.

Yeah, I check the Ibuki subforum about once a week but no one ever posts. Dead as a dildo. HexSells made a post in it a while ago and then apparently immediately edited it out, so the only activity we might have had vanished in the wind~ I don’t check the other character subforums more than like once every four months tho. So good. I don’t really blame people for posting questions here rather than there though, since those forums don’t show updates.

=\

Also I have no idea who these western Ibukis are Marble, unless you mean like general 3SO Ibuki players? DJ certainly never taught me anything like that. I don’t keep up with the western or online scene at all though, so I don’t really count there I guess. Online players are mostly idiots anyway, they just sit and try to do cross-under juggles the entire round or jab, jab, jab, jab, jab, jab, jab, jab ARHGGGG. I also recall some around early 3SO release with insane rollback, those were intense as hell. I’ve never seen anyone throw out Hien for SA1 either except for that crazy twat in the last Shend video who was going by the name Eerie Fog. He kept ending rounds with Hien into SA1 like a massive troll. He was a nut anyway tho, good stuff.

Idk anyone that says don’t use TCs, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

I’ve been using it when I play Ibuki as a round ender… Also, playing against new players online is like playing against a rabbid monkey. I can’t count on either hand how many times I’ve cancelled mk in hien just to watch them mash jab on the ground… It’s rather silly. I keep thinking, “you know, if he mashed DP I would respect that.”

I’m also guilty of waiting to do Ibuki juggle combos and reset shenanigans… Someone has to be an arcade bully. That said, I hate Ibuki.

Putting it in a sub forum might keep out the yahoos too
