we went with green and blue buttons over the versus city green and pink. just a personal color preference. I think overall everything turned out nice.
we ended up getting the picture I’d say like 95% color accurate. it kind of leans towards red though. and man the reds bleed too.
if you’re wondering about the switches on the left, one of them is the power switch. the other is actually to bring up the test menu. I’m sure it seems weird to have a switch for that, but I own cats. I can definitely see the fat one making himself comfortable right next to the box and bringing up the test menu a bunch if it were a button.
If I were to gather some water from a glacier and have an eskimo shaman (maybe you have one in the family) bless this water. Would it really always stay cold?

Should have used a single, two player, arcade stick instead of 2. It’s not proper 3rd Strike unless P1 can use his shoulder/elbow to mess up P2’s parry timing.
I was going to bring this up earlier, but I figured you guys had already spent way too much money. You should really, really make an effort to get an RGB arcade monitor, or something that will take a real RGB connection. If you haven’t played games in RGB it will seriously blow your face right off. I bought a tiny little 1084s for my supergun when I was playing a lot of 2D shooters, and it was amazing.
I realize that at that point it’s getting pretty ridiculous having just about every piece of the cabinet laying around on the floor instead of in its fiberglass house, but you know. Browse craigslist for a while until one pops up, or find somewhere in your area where you might find one cheap!
I’ve started asking around about how much it would cost to get a Versus City shipped up here. That would be pretty sick. Do I want the Versus City or the New Versus City? Or does it not really matter?

One thing I don’t like much about the new SRK is how it makes the character specific forums a lot less useful. There’s a lot of Chun/Ken detail stuff I’d like to start asking about but I don’t really wanna gum up any current threads with it. It would be cool if we had character threads inside the main 3S forum.
Ey mans. What top player would you say parries the least? I’m talking like, rarely goes after random parries for everything. Obvious shit like projectiles and jump ins doesn’t count.
Welp, I finally spent a few minutes in training mode and learned the optimal Seiei-Enbu combo (S.LK xx HP.Slash , LP.Slash x3 , S.LK HP.Slash Full).
Took about ten minutes, but I had never even considered doing it before last night. I used to see it in videos and always thought it required some sort of beast execution or something and so I never thought about trying it on my own. Nah, that shit is dumb easy for no damage lol.
You might consider an Astro City or Egret 3. Versus City are great but they are hard to move because each side of the cab is connected while Astro City and Egret 3 separate. Iirc they use Egret 3 in SBO. Versus City also seemed to be a unique challenge for direct feed in the Denjin days if that’s something you’re looking into.
Man can’t think of which top player is known for parrying a lot.
If you get two Astro City or Egret 3 machines, can you connect them together and recreate the same experience as a H2H cab? Is there any notable difference between Astro City and Egret 3?
astro city and egret 3 are hella different afaik.
egret 3 is a much later cabinet, probably has a trisync monitor and the monitor carriage can rotate for shmups iirc.
astro city is old as hell, very box, likely has just the single hz setting monitor (which is fine because i believe it is the correct hz for 3S).
and actually thats ideal. the trisync will come close but it won’t be EXACTLY hyper perfect for 3S. BUT it means you could put other stuff in there (for instance guilty gear which runs at different hz than 3S)
its been a while since i talked to a guy who knows his stuff about these things but thats what i recall. astro city is like old old, so also relatively cheap. egret 3 is like really nice but $$.
The A.I. is a pretty good Parry training partner. I tend to Parry Down on their wakeup and noticing that it reads inputs. If you try to attack it always blocks, go for a throw and it does wakeup SRK, try to Parry and it does a standing LP or LK or something like that. Still trying to get the hang of Parrying at 2-3 character spaces away and waiting for a poke. Not an ideal strategy with Alex/Dudley but something worth getting better at.
Fuck it, I’m learning Urien. I want to play cheap. Fuck it. Only thing is that I cannot charge partition with him. I’m convinced you need a stick in order to get that shit down with him. Even still, launcher into Shoulder and stHP still does good damage and moreso against the glass cannons.
