General 3S/3S OE Thread. NO DISCUSSING REBALANCE, unless you like INFRACTIONS!

HAX has turned forum posting into performance art

bow to him!!

I kinda wish she had a bit more in the way of abs. But she does fill those jeans in real nice.

Fixed.

sticks for CPS3 should be done tonight, my friend is finishing them up now. I had ideas of taking pictures from that high resolution art thread and using them as stick backgrounds. so each stick could have Chun or Ken’s artwork on it maybe. or we could use Gouki and Ken’s stages as the stick art. those both look sick. for now it’s just going to be black paper but maybe somewhere down the line.

I think he’ll be registering an account here pretty soon to make the topic about how to build the CPS3 and Supergun setup. he said he took pictures. within the next 2-3 days I assume.

Stick art has always been a pet peeve of mine. Stick with black.

yeah it would probably be hard to make it not look dumb anyway. I’m imagining Chun’s face with a giant stick where her nose should be. not a good look even if you’re a fan of having pictures on your stick.

This is one of the few stick arts I approve of.

My ps2 stick I had all green parts. pink and green are the best color for stick and buttons because they’re common 1p and 2p colors on Japanese cabs.

On the bottom right you can see a proposed special move for Alex which confirms my suspicion that Alex was inspired by KOF Grapplers like Clark.

dude those sketches are so fucking nice.

the link went to eventhubs server so i guess i will look around there. i haven’t seen that set before i don’t think.

Check out the little action box to the middle right there. Looks like they were thinking of giving Gouki a wall bounce. Imagine if each strength of demon flip throw for him did something a little different! Cooooool

Nice I found them.

I wish they had used the last part of remy’s sa3 as a special for him.

I don’t know what that remy stuff is. Snap peoples necks? teleport? slap them???

Almost looks like an anti fireball special/super.

actually let me delete that post and ask a bigger question.

anyone know the best way to buy an arcade CRT monitor? we’ve had a couple problems just hooking it up directly to my CRT, including there being black bars on the side of the screen and it’s also pretty challenging to get the video encoder to put out the correct colors or put out an image that’s not blurry. I’ve seen direct video outputs from CPS3 on stream and videos and it doesn’t look like what we’re getting. I think it will probably be a better long term solution to pick up an arcade monitor, and drop the video encoder out of the equation completely.

still despite those minor issues it’s going pretty well. CPS3 feels really good. we’ve only played a couple hours but I can definitely feel the difference between OE and CPS3. game feels slightly slower, and man the sound effects are way better. compare the OE hit sound effect to the CPS3 hit sound effect, night and day. shoryukens also. really across the board the game sound and feels better. once we get the video situation figured out I think we can call the project a success.

One of those almost looked like an execution. These are really great. I’m going to practice with them from now on. Great style.

@igloobob

I don’t know anything about that stuff but my guess would be your best bet is contacting arcade owners. I know fubarduck is really knowledgable when it comes to game related hardware and technology in general. I believe him or one of the Austin players back in the day also had a super gun set up as well.

Another option is posting on forums where people are more knowledgable about arcade related hardware. can’t remember the names of the forums but I think most of the people were collectors and shmup players.

good luck!

good thinkin, thanks. Dander was talking about Don knowing a lot, and you mentioned Fubarduck. haha yeah I guess it makes a lot of sense to ask people who deal with this stuff all the time.

we did a bit of research for ourselves too. seems like there’s a couple potentially good options. apparently S Video will help the picture quality a bunch, so we’ll try that. there’s also more highly thought of video encoders. also found a couple sites that sell arcade CRTs for a couple hundred bucks.

the further along we go, the more I almost think “might as well just build a cabinet.” heck we’ve done everything else. built custom sticks, got the CPS3 kit working, and maybe an arcade monitor now. all we have left to do is buy a bunch of wood and build a cabinet to house it all.

EDIT: S Video did the trick. picture is now really clean and the colors very close. only problem now is thin black bars on either side of the screen. which I think might just be what CPS3 is outputting, not the video encoder’s fault. it would be cool if we could adjust the stretch on the CRT. I assume you can do this on most arcade monitors and that’s why it’s like that.

you can indeed yeah.
usually you can fine tune the width/height. if you’re using an old crt monitor it should definitely have those options.

and yeah the remy thing looked like that. i don’t know why it had two outcomes or maybe those were just two ideas.
i bet remy was busted when they were testing. and they were like o shit this guy needs to be toned down. prob eating chun alive.

ever think about how nasty Remy would be in like, ANY other street fighter game?

wateva bro he’s nasty in third strike.
hair flick

“Oh boy you’re so nasty!”

Skeet Fighter.
