khmerboxer25, don’t get me wrong, I really really thank you for the info you post but… maybe because I’m not an English native speaker, I understand very little of what you write. Please use some punctuation…
it isn’t you. his posts are just hard to understand in general.
Last night i had some endless matches and found my self able to get super and end up using it sometime in the match with very good success and out come. Which i was very happy about. Now this might sound silly, but i actually dont use super at all… i more of a FADC Gen player (luv those flashy combo’s), even if i have super stocked.
This has caused a litle dilema in my mind. I normally go into a match knowing that im gona FADC when i get a good jump in, super never comes into my mind unless i get a cruple or something.
My question … is there a way i can decide on how to choose between FADC combo and SUPER? … how do you guys decide on which to use?
-to add, from watching Xian play his Gen, from what i see he does not use super allot. He likes his FADC combo’s. He has a good win rate too. So is this to say that super is not as important…? ;-/
FADC SITUATION when…
The Combo will kill off the opponent
The combo will stun the opponent
The combo will give you a health advantage
SUPER when…
U can mindfuck your opponent to keep away from you and respect your options
Super and Ultra = 600+ damage = Comeback
Easy to land off pretty much any bnb
makes the opponent think twice about safe jumping or jumping at you period
You can mixup like crazy after super
must have in the second or third round, one mistake from your opponent BAM! end of round
FADC combo doesnt even do decent damage 360 damage at best and its hard to pull off and takes alot of buttons, unless you are being flashy or casual remember that for your opponent is that FEAR OF GEN SUPER IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM
- Super into ultra.
- Crane super is GATLIKE against any jump ins… or outs.
- If you have no ultra stocked, after doing Mantis super = many possibilities from HK Gekiro for the hard knockdown, cross-under + follow up, Crane standing HK reset into Crane MP overhead.
I’ll take all of that in place of an FADC, and eat a SRK if I so much as miss a link… but that’s mostly because I’m terrible at those 1f links.
I have a question: I know Crane Ultra 1 is an awful anti-air… but in which specific situation does it work? I often use Mantis Ultra 1 against some jumps, but it strictly depends on the high of the opponent: it works only if the opponent is still really distant from the ground. How about the Crane one?
Air to air Crane.HK x2 -> Crane Ultra 1
It always works if it’s a diagonal jump Crane HK x2, but sometimes opponents land too far away if you reacted with a neutral jump. You can try to do diagonal jump HK on reaction. In the corner, where people are desperate to get out (by jumping), you can try to anticipate and do neutral jump HK x2. The corner keeps them close enough for your Crane Ultra 1 to land easily.
I only attempt it against seth wall jump, and after crane jHKx2, outside that I dont even bother it starts too late 10+frames before it goes active, it also punishes blanka u1 too
crane short, focus cancel hit, forward dash, crane ultra lol. works mid screen.
FAL3, Forward dash, Crane nj.HK, Crane U2. Character specific. One of the best punishes off a 1 hit Stun.
the Damage is highly pathetic but the style points is so gatlike
is it instant neutral jump or close to landing neutral jump
Close to landing. You do it as you come down.
Just curious: whenever you do jump in, what normal do throw out most of the time?
I pretty much always do crane j.HK when I’m feeling jumpy, and I think I need to mix it up more. Just seeing what you bros use.
Far jump in I usually use Crane HP, and sometimes HK too. In Mantis HP and MK.
I’m actually using alot of Crane mp. It has been beating normal AA like Juri, Makoto, and Gouken. I think it is because the hurt box is farther back than Crane hp or hk; the hit box is definently different.
Grats to Xian for winning!
So in Canada Team Vancouver and Team Calgary will go on a 5v5 online battle tonight. Schowt, a competent Gen whom I don’t think writes in SRK, is in Team Vancouver, while I’ll be in Team Calgary. It will not be streamed to preserve decent connection, but will likely be recorded and uploaded later. I’m infamous for dropping links online, so wish me luck
Hey guys I just got back from Winterbrawl, and I went 1-2
My second game was against Marlin Pie, I actually almost beat the guy. We went to the third game and the third round he took the win.
A friend of mine recorded us playing together and then started shit talking us both xD
As soon as I get the video I will figure out how to share it with you guys >: D
They actually mentioned what I assume was your Marlinpie match on stream while it was happening. If it was you, the commentators mentioned that you were pretty good, though they didn’t know who you were.
