I am sooooo stoked for this game… why cant it be out today. Im really excited to a non fighting game for once…little burnt out.
With the gnasher you have a better chance of saving that teammate if its 1 vs multiple. Half decent players with a number advantage will pick different angles and stay at certain distances from teammates (preventing friendly-fire/blocked shots), making that multikill with the SO impossible. With the gnasher however you can easily get a oneshot on someone not paying attention and move on to the next one. The only time the SO will come in handy is probably KOTH when multiple enemies are capturing the hill. Or when you’re a completely new to the series. Gears 3 is alot easier than the other games in the series but the game is brutal for beginners.
If the gnasher was sketchy you’re aim was probably off. Hit detection was perfect in the beta.
Sawed Off just fits my playstyle. I like to be defensive when playing with my team. Call out enemies, hang back and Lancer/Hammerburst enemies, suppressing fire for escape, always be aware of my surrondings and the power weapons in the vincinity. Most of the time, when close range battles happen, its usually some guy rushing my position, bringing the fight to me. The sawed-off is great for situations like this, where you can easily dust a guy real quick then go back on the defense. It aint gonna save your ass in sudden death, its not gonna get on montages, it’ll probably get a lot of hate mail, but I think the weapon is fine the way it is, and I intend to use it in the real deal.
Just not in Horde mode, then its Gnasher all the way, baby. I’mma have to hit a few of ya’ll up later this week for gamertags once I get mine set up. I’m really hyped for this game, I think all the changes and improvements is gonna make this easily the best, most balanced Gears of War yet.

Can you play the campaign online? If so I might have to team up with someone here and knock out the story in 1 day or so… I like beating campaigns quick.

The gnasher being superior in every way besides multi oneshot kills is a fact.
If the gun is working just fine for you or if you think its fun, that’s fine. I’m just saying there is a gun superior to the one your using and you will probably be better off using the gnasher.

And for the people who want to play horde. Do NOT play horde untill you finish act3 in campaign.
Apparently horde has something or someone in it that spoils a big part of act 3 and it can appear in the first 10 waves.
