God I hope not, map pack-only playlists ruined Halo 3. I have the points for Fenix Rising but I really dont want to, I always feel cheated out of my money when I buy a map pack or DLC in general
Alpha Execution and Stay Frosty are currently Fenix Rising only, otherwise all playlists are open.
I’m hoping they release the Fenix Rising maps publicly, some of them are too good to leave people out of and have missing from the rotation for half of matches.
Speaking of Stay Frosty, what idiot thought that a rifles only playlist was a good idea for Gears of War of all fucking games…
Alpha Execution on the other hand, I applaud.
Are they out yet?
with all this twitter and facebook, i still can’t get the memo!
I can’t get into ANY TDM games at all.
Whats this crap about my party type and not being able to play!
Never had this before and it doesn’t seem to matter where I join
Fenix Rising broke the game. Scorchers the strongest thing ever, gnashers are crap shoots at close range but down in like 2 shots at semi-long, lancer became the worst gun, SOS suddenly has better gib range than gnashers O_o, random lag spikes, random match glitches where you can’t take cover and people randomly teleport/ skip around the map. It’s not lag they literally appear on the other side of the map. If you don’t buy the map pack you don’t get to play on the dedicated servers. Team death match gives you an error message “disconnected from host” or some bs about your xbox party type. Basically Epic fucked everyone and I regret buying the season pass because of it.
fuuuuck man…
all 4 games I got ended up sucking hard
Gow
mw
bf… this one is probably the best
umvc3…bleeeeh
shoulda gotten skyrim and dead island!
Really? So far I am loving the Phoenix Rising DLC. I really dig Academy and Depths, Slab is decent, not a fan of Anvil but that one will probably grow on me as soon as I learn to play it.
I havent noticed the upgrade in scorcher yet. They needed to upgraded it a little bit though, that shit was a pointless gun on the map. I havent noticed the increase in the S/O… but then again I play Ranked Execution and most people dont use it in that mode. I also havent felt anything different with the Gnasher, im still wrecking fools with it just about the same rate.
I think people just need to stop playing Quick Team Deathmatch AKA Call of Duty mode. Most people that play QDM are ass. Most just spam that Sawed off garbage and try to long range you with ARs the entire time. Ranked Execution is where it is at. AR kills arent nearly as easy (because you have to execute them obvioiusly) so camping is kept to a minimum with the exception of a few maps (Fuck you Blood Drive… you were so Godlike in Gears 2).
I honestly dont understand the hate for this game. It is such an upgrade from Gears 2 it isnt even fun. Sure I am not pleased with how powerful the ARs now (and has turned it more into a COD like game) but it isnt to the point where it is a complete problem. Sure the S/O is stupid as fuck but it is still the inferior shotgun for so many reasons, if you are good you should be running the gnasher. Like I have said before though, QTDM waters this game down a shitload as far as everything from the competition to the tactics go. Ranked TDM is pretty bad too, it mostly just turns into a burst/lancer COD battle except for a few maps. Execution is still where the heart of this game is, and is easily the most fun and least BS out of all of them.
Going to re post my level tier list as it has changed since last time (it is basically a personal opinion list on how much I enjoy the maps). Remember that most of my opinion comes from Execution and not TDM.
S: Hotel, Old Town, Depths
A+: Clocktower, Azura, Bullet Marsh
A: Trenches, Academy, Gridlock, Drydock, Mercy, Escalation
**B+: **Checkout, Blood Drive, Slab
B: Rustlung, Anvil
C: Thrashball
**F: **Sandbar
Complete Fucking Garbage: Overpass
I personally love checkout and rustlung but other than that I agree, I’d definitely put Clocktower in S tier and Academy in A+ though, and move Bullet Marsh down to C (whoever the fuck thought the Kryll was a good idea needs to be shot, cause being able to completely shut down power weapons is a good idea, right? oh wait…)
The map design in this once again shines far above anything else in years, imo. Academy is fuckin gorgeous… I was just checking that one out tonight for the first time…Horde mode solo…they finally got me at wave 10 (2 Berserkers + a ton of drones and Maulers with Kantus backing them up…haha, I doubt someone could handle all that solo. All I really had on the field though was the Fire Sentry and an Onyx Guard Bot…yeah, that was a mistake. Onyx Bot is indeed rather sucky, and not worth the money [10k for that bullshit bot? Get outta here)… I should’ve got the command center fully upgraded for all that.) I was also playing Horde with some friends on Escalation earlier…that’s a pretty good one too… the 3 of us went to wave 30, mostly holding out in the back area at the top of the stairs. One weakness though is that there’s hardly any cover at the absolute back of the map though, in that little courtyard-looking area with the fountain. If the enemies manage to bum-rush all the way up in there, it’s basically over. Ah, but then again we were playing on Hardcore…heh, I forgot about that. Yeah, that was completely ridiculous.
I’m so hooked on Horde it’s crazy… right after wave 50 I would seriously be ready to do it all again. I can’t get enough of it.
Honestly for me Checkout is just so overplayed. It is automatically voted for when it is in the selection thingy. I just get sick of playing it 4 or 5 times in a row (this has happened on multiple occasions). It is a good map… im just personally tired of it, I will probably move it up the list a little bit when it isnt as frequently chosen. Rustlung I just havent really played enough to figure it out yet… I could see it going up though in time.
Clocktower is an awesome level… I just prefer the 3 in S tier SLIGHTLY more than it. If ARs werent so good in this game then it might be a little higher because it is a great map for lancers and bursts. The other night me and a couple buddies played this clan a couple times on clocktower and they just burst actived us to death every round… it was annoying as fuck. But I mean it is still one of the best maps in the game.
Academy I have only played once so far… I could see it easily going up a lot because I really enjoyed myself on that map.
Bullet Marsh is one of the most underrated maps IMO along with Trenches. The Kryl I dont mind too much because it makes you change up your gameplan a little bit, adds a little variance to the level. Most maps with the Boomshot on the bottom of the map are really solid maps.
So far I really love Depths. Along with the level being gorgeous… it is really well set up in terms of power weapons and nades. It doesnt really have a clear advantage point either so it isnt one of those Doomsday levels if you dont get the high ground in the initial battle.
Im also not really feeling Anvil at the moment. Played that map like 8 times today and it just feels like an awkward map. It feels like it would be map that someone would make if this game had a bad create your own map editor like some games do. Doesnt really look all that eye popping either (although this doesnt really weigh in on why I dislike the level).
Also if anyone here wants to play Gears let me know. My GT is NissanZaxima… all my buddies just play Camp of Fruity now because they thought Gears wasnt a good game… aka they were complete ass in it and got frustrated with the learning curve.
I never cared about the other games modes, i just want to play, and I can’t.
just wanna fucking game I spent 100 on… damnit…
stupid buggy ass game…
QTDM or anything doesn’t bother me, its the same game. S/o for liiiiiife
I am forever puzzled by a certain friend that doesn’t play Gears 3 anymore… another thing that came to mind regarding this issue is the issue of wasted money. Yes, he actually paid the extra money for the “EPIC EDITION” or whatever that top-rank version was that cost over $100. Talk about waste… what the hell, man? This guy paid all that extra money to get the ultra special edition of this game on day 1…and he ended up playing through the campaign exactly 1 time, Beast mode maybe once or twice, and Horde mode on probably less than 5 occasions. That’s so wasteful it’s outright stupid, imo. Dude would’ve been better off just renting it from wherever if that was all the time he was going to put into it. He doesn’t even appear to have interest in ever playing it again, really…he’d always rather play something else whether it’s single player or multiplayer/co-op. Again, why waste the money on a special edition if you’re not THAT into it? (send an invite to play or even bring up the game in conversation and you can almost sense the “ehhhh whatever” reaction in his mind. That’s just silly… and dumb.
Another friend that just popped into mind…at least his situation makes sense, as he’s the “Family Man” with basically NO time left in life to play games anymore. This guy has finished the game and played Horde exactly once…he has done nothing else in this game. I just don’t get it, man… I like to get as much entertainment value for my money as possible, and I only get games if I can see a LOT of potential replay value in them (*if it’s something I’d only play one time or have only a lukewarm interest in at best, chances are I won’t buy it. The first friend I mention does this bizarre shit all the time, basically… he’ll play a game for a very short time, and never again…some games he doesn’t even see through to the end of the story! That’s like if you paid to see a great movie and then walked out just before the final confrontation/conflict was resolved, despite the fact that you were actually enjoying it. It’s like this kind of person has the attention span of an infant that is happy 1 minute, crying the next, then immediately happy again as he is distracted by a shiny object on the other side of the table. It’s pitiful but somehow fascinating to me all at the same time.)
Sheeeit, there’s so much to do in this one, I’m not sure how one could get bored so quickly if the person already likes this type of game in the first place…there’s the level grinding, medals and ribbons, fortifications leveling for Horde, story/arcade and co-op or competitive multiplayer. There’s so much “stuff” going on here it’s crazy…like a buffet of only your favorite foods/drinks at a restaurant
when my headset comes in; im gonna add you all. Almost done with campaign… i really like this game.
does SRK have a group the frequents online TDM?
Buggy game really? You must have some random bad moments with this game because it isnt buggy whatsoever.
The new buff to the Sawed Off is kind of annoying but it isnt too bad. Just gives not so great players a little bit easier way out. The active reload on the Gnasher is too stong as well. One shot downs? Fuck that shit man…
This is still a beast of a gmae though. Must have spent like 9 hours or so yesterday playing it (only ranked up like 3 levels too lol). I didnt know Horde went past level 50 now? Me and DarkHokage made it to level 55 last night.
As far as frequents online me (XBL: NissanZaxima) and DarkHokage (XBL: DARKHOKAGE SRK) play quite a bit. I usually run Ranked Execution but as of late have been running a little more Deathmatch so I can level up faster and eventually unlock Prescott as he is one of the only characters I have left to unlock.
This game is Godlike.
I’m Spoonyaxis04
add me for any games; i’m down. I can see myself playing this game for awhile.
This game and/or my system pissed me the hell off today. I’ve found what others probably realize about The Slab with regard to Horde… it is another AWESOME spot for that mode. This was so easy it was ridiculous, even solo…yes, easier than the top side of Overpass. Basically, I didn’t buy a damn thing starting from Wave 1, and I had more than enough for Silverback by around 6 or 7. Now armed with “my baby” Silver… I went out to the work-out area or whatever that outside area is called… from there on you can coast through that shit, man. Out there, they only have 2 paths to get to you, and of course both are easily covered by Silverback or whatever you have out there. Occasionally, I put Baby in the corner just to save her from taking damage.
BOTH runs of this, my internet mysteriously lost connection! Each time, I had such a great score going on for it to be a solo Horde session…this last time I had over 140,000 (points) and was on wave 21, then suddenly “YOU ARE NO LONGER CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET” and I’m back on the loading screen. Who was the moron that decided a disconnect instantly stops a Horde game? That person needs to be smacked in the face with a crowbar. It has taken a great deal of restraint to not smash the hell out of something until it’s in a thousand pieces just now. There’s really no telling how far I would’ve gone with that set-up going on… I didn’t even have any need for fortifications! I occasionally planted grenades by the walls of both exits/entrances just to further hold things down. Shit, at one point around 19 or 20 I had $40,000+, man. Even if they destroyed my Silverback (this only happened one time), I had more than enough money for FULL repairs or to buy it back. I took a picture early on:

That was $30,807 solo on Wave 13 (Normal with “Must Active Reload” mutator) with absolutely no need for fortifications besides Silverback. Until the random disconnects ruining everything, I was never even “in trouble” at any point. The only possible problem I could’ve run into would be if they sent some Berserkers on a Boss Wave, since I’d need some fire to deal with them, of course…so I guess it would be wise to put up a Fire Sentry if I could tell beforehand whether or not Berserkers will show up. I’d also need the missiles to deal with Armored Kantus when they show up later on. A certain friend didn’t even understand my frustration with it all, because he’s a chump that has never, ever played anything with the concept of high scores and leaderboards in mind. (*probably because he’d never do well in those things anyway) I enjoy high scores in basically any game I could get them in, so hell yeah this made me want to smash things. Fortunately it at least kept my leveling progress for Silverback.
It might be something with either the game or the xbox 360 (half-ass piece of shitty hardware that it is), because it’s incredibly rare for me to have internet connection problems from my computer or even the PS3. Well, at least I can keep leveling up SB quickly this way…hopefully it will let me stay on to save a high score one day. Edit— also, I lucked up and got Gunkers for boss wave 10 and 20! That was terribly easy since they’re so slow, and they didn’t even shoot gunk…probably because they were still indoors and it would hit the ceiling, I suppose? Silverback tears their asses up too.
hahaha, niiice!
Just recently, with the fenix rising stuff and nothing being able to play some game types because of chat/party, but its back
game is my fav for 2012
add me, Fernandooooo
Reason Im asking for you to add me is cuz I wont be on till a little later
Stay frosty is nasty, ha…
SO is my fav, first it was op and noob, now its useless and noob! haha, okay, makes sense nah, I like it, gotta be hella close now
My connection remained stable this time, and I tried the same approach on Rustlung---- made it to wave 27 solo on Normal, with the “Must Active Reload”. That’s one of the “hard” mutators, but it’s not really a big deal, so I see it as an extra little multiplier for points/experience. Once you get Silverback, that mutator doesn’t apply to the SB’s guns, so it’s really just an extra points multiplier then. The score I ended up with here was 251,000+…haha, and it was all solo! I even had enough cash to put up an blue laser barrier on the side, and razor wire in another area. I was in that spawn point where going forward, you’d turn left down a hallway or further left to a bigger hallway…this is good of course since the enemies can only come from those directions. They get torn to shreds by the monster that is the Silverback immediately when they run around that corner. The boss on wave 20 was a few Reavers…easy targets. The wave 10 boss was a Corpser.
I also noticed that you can apparently kill a giant serapede by shooting the face. Since the face and body are armored, I didn’t even know this would work… I figured you always had to shoot them in their glowing tail end.
Sheeeit, I guess it’s a “good” thing the SB gets damaged so easily…if not, that thing would be a damn near guaranteed free ride through all 50 waves just about every time. Oh yeah, ye ole Silver is now level 2.
