Played Horde on Blood Drive twice today. Got to wave 30 both times, then the host quit, both times>:(
Sheeeit, even on the relatively easy Blood Drive, Horde can still get ridiculous at wave 40 and up. I was with a group earlier today…everything was going nicely UNTIL wave 40. It was various arrangements of:
Lambent Berserker, Serapede, Drudges, drones, dozens of Maulers, Grinders all over the place, tons of Boomers, and Therons with Torque Bows. After repeated failures there, even with a guy in a damn Silverback(!) it switched out the Lambent Bitch to 3 regular Berserkers + all the aforementioned things. Also, I could’ve sworn the game was just straight up teleporting grenades onto the walls…sometimes you just hear the beep noise and instantly get downed or blown up…when nobody threw a goddamn thing. When there are 3 Berserkers + all those other things rushing you from that hallway and coming up the stairs…that’s hopeless shit, man. Oh yeah, and keep in mind that everything has 2x Health and they also do increased damage to you by that point too. The shit is so crazy it actually becomes funny.
*ah, and several Kantus guys were there too… can’t forget about them and their perfect teamwork tactics… say 1 screams to daze you while another tosses an Ink grenade PERFECTLY every time, of course…or 1 throws an ink that just happens to perfectly coincide with a Grinder that appeared out of thin air around the corner.
Silverbacks become a big waste of money after round 30. Always got to constantly put down 3k after 2-3 rounds gets annoying.
Yeah the Kantus with their perfect ink throws, they are such a pain. I think in Beast, the normal Kantus is better than the Armored ones, if only because of the ink grenades. The ink grenade stops Silverbacks and Turrets.
In Horde, the funniest thing that Ive seen was on the map Trenches. A Brumak spawns next to me, but it’s stuck in the maps geography, so it just stares at me, and I spend the round shooting it in the face.

eh, they still need to “fix” Beast mode though. It’s depressing when you imagine how great it could’ve been. I’ll bet that once people are done with whatever medals and ribbons they wanted out of that, they will never even glance at that mode ever again…unless DLC or a patch or something brings some much needed improvement later.
Yeah man, Horde on level 40 is completely ridiculous, especially when most of the team quits. You can only do so much with 2-3 people.

I’m getting pretty bored of this game’s multiplayer but shit I’d be down for horde on any difficulty or beast on insane.

I’ve sort of hit a wall with the MP.
As of yesterday I hit level 97, Got Onyx Medal for the Sawed-off, and hit Gold Medal Active Reloads. I need about 500 Gnasher kills to get that to gold, and less than 400 assists to get it to Onyx. I’m basically out of any others for a long time and I find myself only playing to get medals.
Also, the Alpha gametype added KoTH some time recently and it’s a goldmine, I’m getting 5000 EXP a round on average. The 4v4 feels good.
It isnt recently. I played KOTH on Alpha like the 1st day the alpha playlist as out.
Its just too much of the same for me. I’ve been playing Gears 1 MP for the last 4 years pretty consistently. The new weapons were cool for a minute but I went back to the gnasher and lancer pretty quick. Also the map rotation sucks ass. I end up playing the same map 3 and 4 times in an hour sometimes and after that I just get bored quick.

My setup is usually SOS/Retro but I’m liking the Gnasher again.
If you play Ranked you vote for the map/gametype. And its usually always 1 - TD 1 - Execution 1 - KOTH.
