Maybe they made it a bit shady intentionally so people could come up with their own feelings about the whole thing. Leaving the consumers to answer themselves is the only thing games can do better than any other media imo.

LOL so I just played against a Gears3 dev in a random TDM quickmatch. I snuck up on him with the sawed-off at least 3-4times before he quit out the match. Like literally after the 4th sawed-off rush he immediately quit.
He was level 100. And since he quit the match he didn’t show up in the after match stats, but I found him on my recent players list. http://i.imgur.com/cLrHL.jpg

The DLC will be side missions that aren’t relevant to the main plot. So we will probably see what Griffin, Clayton Carmine, and perhaps Bernie were doing during the main story of the other characters.
i heard the second DLC is some new campaign missions
but the first DLC that was just announced is some maps and character models. i think i’ll wait before getting any dlc since there was that big discount at with gears 2 with the all fronts pack.
I think it will be different because of the seasons pass though. I dont think the DLC will get cheaper anytime soon. It will probably be like 2 years before they knocked down the price.
The first DLC is a few like 3 characters, 2 skins, and 3 maps for horde
Plus those maps, you call in air support or hammer of dawn strike and so on 
Yeah, right now the max upgrade level in Horde is 8, which gives you 4 stars. The DLC will unlock more levels to upgrade, i.e. a further upgrade to the Decoy will turn it into an Onyx Guard bot that helps you kill stuff.
Best thing: Only the host needs the maps. But you cannot buy any of the new fortifications and such if you did not purchase the dlc.
And you will NOT be able to play the maps in quick/ranked match. Apparently it’s a dedicated server issue, however eventually the DLC will be playable in Versus (no date yet).

I think a lot of people were in the same boat as you. But if you are going to end up buying any DLC it doesn’t make much sense. Most people don’t buy 1 DLC they usually get everyone (for shooters at least). So why not save $10.
The deal with me though, is that I end up getting the first 1 or 2 DLC’s, then I just stop playing the game before the next 5 or 6 DLCs come out. This is why I didn’t think the season pass was necessary.
But they are stuffing so much content (although, a lot of it is already on the disk), and I see myself playing Gears 3 for a while, so I’ll probably just get the season pass.
God dammit.
I dont know if you are a COD or Battlefield player (a lot of people play all shooters) but you might want to wait until those games come out until you figure out if you really want the seasons pass. Maybe you will see yourself playing one of those games a lot more than Gears.

Honestly, I’ve hated CoD after the original Modern Warfare. I’ve been a fan of the Battlefield games, but I don’t play them too often. Plus, if I even contemplated getting Battlefield 3, I’d purchase the PC version. In order to do that, I’d have to build myself a decent PC, and I don’t foresee that happening in the near future.
So yeah, this Gears DLC is definitely going to happen. I just feel guilty supporting something like DLC keys to unlock content on disc (hello Resident Evil 5 versus mode!). Ah well, it’s not like 30 bucks is going to harm me in anyway. Looking forward to playing the new maps… and Blood Drive.
I only want to purchase Multiplayer maps. So I’m passing on the season pass and waiting to see what comes out.
I might trade in some bs and get a discount on the season pass by buying from Gamestop.
